The ALDUB KalyeSerye Hype just keeps getting hotter by day. This is in stark contrast to the financial downturn that Lola Nidora is experiencing. Since the story does not show any children (because it’s a KalyeSerye depending on improvisation). Lola Nidora is expected to use her closest kin as “trust fund baby”. And that would be YayaDUB. She might have been itching to get off the moped she drove as YayaDUB and the Rogelio’s walk around her.
It seems like the ALDUB KalyeSerye hype would keep life stressful for Lola Nidora. YayaDUB pulling out the Minnie Mouse plushie that Alden gave her served as a stress reliever. At least for her. Practically anything that had to do with Alden is stressful for Lola Nidora. Either Alden or the sound of sirens blaring in the background. She heard the latter and scampered for cover. She almost hid herself in a nearby house with a tall gate. Too bad there are guards.
And Lola Nidora will keep on having reasons for not liking Alden for YayaDUB. She found Frankie affectionate and respectful compared to Alden. Alden allegedly did not even extend some respect to Lola Nidora. Since she could not prove the latter accusation, much of her justification ended up praising Frankie. Like how she knew Frankie way back when he was a kid. Then Lola Nidora brought up again how Alden failed the first challenge. Lola Nidora is indeed the biggest thorn on the side of an audience solidifying the ALDUB KalyeSerye hype.
Lola Nidora is visibly distraught. She only remembered how YayaDUB’s infatuation with Alden affected her job as Lola Nidora’s nanny. She still ends up mixing up the “chewy-bles” (Lola Nidora’s term) with stray buttons. She threw one towards Paolo at the thought of YayaDUB being neglectful at her duties. Lola Nidora was nagging and YayaDUB was mocking her. The old woman’s lamentations ended up as another Dubsmash material for her to fuss around with. Indeed, the ALDUB KalyeSerye hype is really dependent on how YayaDUb’s facial expressions show how she is not affected with her employer’s nagging.
Just when Lola Nidora is so upset at this ALDUB KalyeSerye hype. Alden appears on the next monitor. He plays for the cameras while getting prepared for Lola Nidora’s next challenge. He knew that he failed the first test. So the preparations meant getting some gym equipment right in the Eat Bulaga main turf to buff himself up. He was Dubsmashing “Thinking Out Loud” while warming up. Later he was shown lifting the barbel AND running on the treadmill at the same time.
One of Eat Bulaga’s “founding fathers”, Vic Sotto a.k.a. Bossing ended up with a snide comment “Pati pagpahid ng pawis, pabebe ah!” (The main “founding fathers” of Eat Bulaga are current senator Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon. Tito, Vic and Joey for short) Snide comments from Tito, Vic and Joey distract Lola Nidora apart from Paolo constantly butting in to say “Asawa ni” (Spouse of). To which Lola Nidora always has a ready answer. Much of the ALDUB KalyeSerye hype comes from the improv approach to presenting a soap opera.
Back to the ALDUB KalyeSerye hype. Practically everything that Alden did irritated Lola Nidora. Her ears are ringing from the sound of “Darling I”. Mispronouncing them as “Dalinay! Dalinay! Naiirita na ko diyan!” It reminded the devoted ALDUB faithful at how Lola Nidora mocks the “Twerk It Like Miley” as “Twikilay! Twikilay!” Much of her reactions are more on the phonetic side rather than getting the pronunciations right. The arrival of an elderly man with a walking stick clarified that aspect.
The elderly man was Don Francisco Arenolli. Don Franing for short. Due to old age, he could not tell earlier how he was related to Frankie. Later he then emphasized that Frankie is his son. And he’s upset with Lola Nidora. He brushed off Lola Nidora’s efforts at being nice to him. He blames her for the #YaKie wedding mishap. Also, as seen in this ALDUB KalyeSerye hype. He did not like Lola Nidora as much. He found her dumb. And the only reason why she became rich is because she found a rich man to marry. It became another opportunity for Lola Nidora to blame Alden. Don Franing then asked to see the main cause of Frankie’s problems.
Don Franing saw Alden. And he was reminded of the days when he looked like Alden. Fair complexion and a flawless skin to boot. The kind that Frankie did not possess since, according to Don Franing, he was a fruit of negative feelings (pinaglihi sa sama ng loob). Don Franing then pressured Lola Nidora to keep Alden away from YayaDUB. He related the stressful days Frankie has been into due to YayaDUB brushing off Frankie’s advances. Frankie allegedly has lost the appetite for life. In the ALDUB KalyeSerye hype that Don Franing is now part of. YayaDUB can’t really see herself marrying Frankie. The best way that she could extend herself to the Arenolli family is by kissing Don Franing’s hand. And nothing more.
Alden then wrote on the bond paper “For You I Will”. He is prepared not to fail again. Just so he may finally meet YayaDUB in person. He then pulled out his Mickey Mouse plushie. He made the plushie look like it can do the “pabebe wave” too. Later, he wrote “Nagustuhan mo ba si Minnie?” YayaDUB then scribbled “Para sa min ni MAINEie?” in reply to Alden’s previous scribbled sign. YayaDUB has renamed her plushie as MAINEie. How cute. It made the ALDUB KalyeSerye hype way more cuter than it already is.
But Lola Nidora butts in again to remind the audience that she exists. The ALDUB KalyeSerye hype will not shoot to the roof ratings-wise if not for heels like Lola Nidora. She then showed a box containing Alden’s next challenge. Before she could even reveal the box’s contents, the screen freezes.
By the time this article reaches cyberspace, everyone has already known what it is. Then again, the ALDUB KalyeSerye hype will keep the devoted ALDUB fanbase wanting more. Who could manage to get enough of what the Inquirer called “split screen fairy tale”? Writing about them will keep the interest at its peak for sure. So like Eat Bulaga’s official Facebook page.
