For the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. Bossing Vic, the birthday celebrant himself, is joined at the KalyeSerye commentary panel by Boss Joey and Ruby. He first saw Donya Tinidora’s replacement players warming up. “Ngayon na ba yung sportsfest?” (Is the sportsfest today?) Boss Joey slightly confirmed it. He’s more concerned about Donya Tinidora upon seeing her arrive. “Nag-tape na kaya ito? May nipple tape ka na?” (Has she used tape? You got nipple tape now?)
Donya Tinidora’s answer was not heard that clearly. The audio was somewhat choppy at first at the remote location at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. It was already audible once she started talking to the replacement team. “Stretching, boys. Ayan, ready’ng ready na yung team ko. Mayamaya susunduin na tayo. Para sa sportfest.” (We are so ready of my team. Later, they will pick us up. For the “sportfest”.)
Bossing Vic heard Donya Tinidora’s pronunciation mishap. “Ngayon ba yung sportfest?” (Is the “sportfest” today?) Donya Tinidora kept up with her mishap. “Opo. Ngayon yung sportfest.” (Yes. The “sportfest” is today.) Bossing Vic enjoyed the mind games with Donya Tinidora at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Isa lang yan di ba?” (It’s only one, right?) Donya Tinidora replied. “Isa lang, bossing. Pagka marami SPORTSFESTS. Pag isa, SPORTFEST lang.” (Just one, bossing. If it’s plural, it’s “sportsfests”. If it’s singular, it’s “sportfest”.)
Bossing Vic changed the topic instead. “Ready na ba yung mga bata mo?” (Are your boys ready?) Donya Tinidora was confident. “Naku. Gagalingan nila. Nasan na ba sina ate?” (They will be great. Where is elder sister?) Bossing Vic switched the topic back to the sportsfest. “Asan na yung mga kalaban?” (Where are your competitors?) At the ALDUB HBD Bossing. Donya Tinidora had to clarify the venue. “Wala pa, bossing. Papunta pa lang kami dun. Malamang kami lang.” (They’re not here. We’re just about to go there. It might just be us.)
Ruby saw the jersey that the team wore. “Lola, basketball ba yan?” (Granny, is that for basketball?) Donya Tinidora explained. “Iba iba.” (Their gear is for all sporting events there.) Bossing Vic heard another VST & Company song playing at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Ayan na! Ayan na! Ayan na!” (Here she comes! Here she comes! Here she comes!) Donya Tinidora immediately greeted Lola Nidora upon her arrival.
Lola Nidora was dancing while walking towards Donya Tinidora. Bossing Vic saw how Lola Nidora tried to be refined. “Wow! Si Lola!” Donya Tinidora went sarcastic again. “Ate. Dahan-dahan ang sayaw. Mapaanak ka.” (Careful in your dancing. You might end up giving birth.) Lola Nidora’s dance teaser at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode was half-refined, half-safe. “Ano ba ginagawa nyo?” (What are you doing?)
Donya Tinidora stated the obvious. “E di nag-stretching.” (Stretching exercises.) Bossing Vic thought the grannies were not appropriately dressed for the sportsfest. “Pambihira. Di man lang kayo nag-sports bra.” (My goodness. You didn’t even bother wearing a sports bra.) Boss Joey made it sound worse. “Oo nga eh. Di nga naka-tape eh.” (Yes indeed. They’re not even wearing [nipple] tape.) Donya Tinidora knew that Boss Joey was still referring to her at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Wala na. Matanda na pag nagte-tape eh.” (No need. We’re really that old the moment we decide to use tape.)
Lola Nidora then greeted Bossing Vic a.k.a. Marvic Sotto. “Marvic! Happy birthday.” Bossing Vic replied. “Salamat po, lola.” (Thank you, granny.) She then complained. “Itong si Tinidora. Tawag ng tawag. Nagre-rehearse ako eh.” (It’s Tinidora. She kept calling me. I’m trying to rehearse.) Bossing Vic was curious at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Ano po nire-rehearse nyo?” (What are you rehearsing?)
Lola Nidora chose to play it safe. “Eh siempre. Hahabol kami diyan sa birthday party mo, di ba?” (Of course. We’d try to make it to your birthday party, right?) Donya Tinidora agreed. “Oo naman. Kaya eto. Kumpleto na ang mga players ng team WORK IT.” (But of course. So here. The players now form the Team WORK IT.) At the ALDUB HBD Bossing. Lola Nidora didn’t get where Donya Tinidora got the team name. “Anong team WORK?” (What team WORK?)
Donya Tinidora explained. “Yan ang tinatawag na teamwork. Kasi nga tulong-tulong sila para maitayo itong ano natin. Sama sama silang nagtrabaho. Kaya team WORK ang tawag.” (That’s what you call teamwork. Because they worked together to build this [team]. That’s why it’s called Team WORK.) The moment Donya Tinidora finished her explanation at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. Rihanna’s “Work” played in the background.
Boss Joey’s infamous toilet humor eventually returned to Eat Bulaga when he saw the jersey’s label. “Ano ba yung EB? Ba’t di nyo pa kinumpleto? Eat Bulaga Athletic Club?” (What does EB stand for? Why not complete it? Like Eat Bulaga Athletic Club?) [In case you didn’t get Boss Joey’s joke at the ALDUb HBD Bossing episode, congratulations.] Bossing Vic’s reaction wasn’t seen much though.
Lola Nidora just turned to Donya Tinidora. “Teka. Yung susuotin mo mamaya sa party ni Marvic. Ayos na ba?” (Wait. How about your dress for Marvic’s party later? Is it done now?) Donya Tinidora is proud of her dress for the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Last week pa nakaayos ang damit ko para kay Marvic. Okay na okay na yan.” (My dress for Marvic was already prepared way back last week. It’s more than okay now.)
Donya Tinidora temporarily forgot about the sportsfest. “Halika na. Pumunta na tayo. Baka di tayo umabot sa birthday ni Bossing.” (Let’s go. We might not make it to Bossing’s birthday.) Lola Nidora ended up thinking more about Divina. “Nasan na ba si Divina?” (Where is Divina?) Donya Tinidora was clueless at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Hindi ko nga alam. Yung muse natin.” (I don’t even know. She’s our muse.)
Lola Nidora chose to think lightly of it though. “Sabi nagbibihis lang daw yun. Kasi pinapaayusan ko yung apo natin. Siempre. First time na magmu-muse sa sportsfest yun.” (I was told she’s just getting dressed. I had our grand-niece made up. Of course. It’s her first time to be muse at the sportsfest.) Alden appeared on the other monitor shortly while DUBsmashing to VST & Company’s “Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko”. Half-DUBsmash and half-singing in an effort to learn the lyrics. He then greeted the grannies present at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Hello, lolas.”
The grannies greeted him back. After an exchange of pleasantries at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. Alden had to ask them. “Makakaabot po ba kayo dito? May sportsfest pa po kayo.” (Will you make it here in time? You still have a sportsfest [to worry about].) Lola Nidora still plans to keep her commitment. “Basta mamaya. Hindi pa kami makakapunta diyan. Ayus-ayusin muna natin itong sportsfest.” (Just later. For now, we can’t go there yet. We’d handle getting into the sportsfest first.)
Alden was worried. “Lola, aabot po ba kayo?” (Granny, can you make it?) Donya Tinidora had a different understanding of Alden’s question at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Ano ba ang tinatanong mong aabot? Aabot pa ba kami o ano?” (What exactly are you trying to ask? Would be live long enough to make it or what?) Alden had to rephrase his question. “Aabot ba kayo sa Broadway po?” (Will you make it to Broadway Centrum?)
Lola Nidora is still hopeful. “Aabot naman siguro kami. Siempre ayaw naming mawala sa celebration ni Marvic.” (I think we can make it. Of course, we don’t want to miss Marvic’s celebration.) Alden then started looking. “Lola, nasan po ba si Divina? Hindi ko pa po nakikita.” (Granny, where is Divina? I haven’t seen her.) Donya Tinidora just waited for the cue at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Tutal nabanggit mo. Lalabas na yun.” (Since you mentioned. She’d be out in time.) Alden got excited.
Lola Nidora started counting nonchalantly for Divina to arrive. Alden reasoned out. “Magre-rehearse pa po kasi kami eh.” (We have yet to rehearse more.) Divina was soon seen at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. DUBsmashing “Oh. I’m thinking about her.” After some lines, she paid respect to the grannies. “Lola, sori po. Napatagal po ako ha?” (Granny, I’m sorry. I ended up taking longer than usual.)
Donya Tinidora felt proud. “Yan ang aming muse.” (That’s our muse.) Divina was apologetic. “Nag-ayos pa po kasi ako eh. Okay po ba hitsura ko, lola?” (I had to fix myself. Do I look good, granny?) Lola Nidora was pleased. “Maayos naman. Hindi naman masyadong maikli.” (You look neat. You skirt wasn’t that short.) Divina had to ask Donya Tinidora too at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Hindi naman masyadong maiksi?” (Wasn’t it too short?)
Donya Tinidora commented. “Tamang-tama lang yan, Divina. At siguradong ikaw na ang mananalo ng Best Muse diyan sa sportsfest. Tandaan mo yan. Di ba, Alden?” (It’s just right, Divina. And surely you’d win the Best Muse Award at the sportsfest. Right, Alden?) Alden was so mesmerized at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. He ended up DUBsmashing to Elvis Costelo’s “She”.
Donya Tinidora had to repeat the question. “Tinatanong kita di ba? Kung siya ang mananalo.” (I’m asking you, right? If she will win.) Alden had to regain his composure. “Lola. First time ko po kasing nakitang magdamit pang-muse si Divina eh.” (It’s my first time to see Divina in a muse outfit.) Divina asked Alden at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Bagay ba?” (Does it suit me?) Alden replied. “Oo naman.” (Of course.)
Divina was proud of the label on her outfit that says “MUSE”. It was Donya Tinidora’s idea. “Halata bang muse siya. Baka hindi mahalata. Kaya nilagay na namin yung muse.” (Isn’t it obvious that she’s the muse? They might not notice it. So we attached the muse label.) Alden then had to ask at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Lola, sinong escort?” (Who would be escorting her?)
Donya Tinidora mocked her pronunciation again. “Hay naku. Si X-Men. Walang Xcort. Lahat na yan.” (Some X-Men. There would be no “xcort”. [Anyone from the team will do.]) Alden then turned to Divina. He reminded her of a question that Boss Joey and Bossing Vic gave them at the Sugod Bahay segment. [Long before the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. The Sugod Bahay segment has been a segment separate from the KalyeSerye segment.]
Boss Joey knew that one question that Alden and Divina find difficult to answer. So he gave them tips to answer “Yes.” “No.” or “Maybe.” using their hand gestures. These tips came handy at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. It was Alden that had to throw the question. “Ito, ito o ito?” (This [eyes for yes], this [nose for no] or this [lips for maybe]?) Divina pointed her left eye.
Alden realized how tough it was for Divina. So he helped her out. “Sabay tayo.” (Let’s do this together.) Boss Joey then counted. “1, 2, 3.” Alden and Divina pointed towards their respective eyes. Boss Joey then got the gist. “Okay naman pala.” (So it’s okay now.) Now at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. Donya Tinidora was either playing it dumb. Or she has more colorful questions in mind. “Ano ngayon yung tanong? Pareho kayong nagturo sa mata.” (Now what is the question? You pointed both your eyes.)
Now it’s the question that either Alden and Divina didn’t say. Alden chose his words well at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Alam na po namin yun, lola. Yun na po yun.” (We already knew, granny. That’s it.) Lola Nidora noticed more how the movements complimented their facial expressions. “Alam nyo. Yes plus yes equals oo.” (You know. Yes plus yes equals yes.) It made Donya Tinidora think.
Alden then tried swinging the topic back to the sportsfest. “For sure, kung sinong makakalaban mo sa sportsfest na yan, olats na yan.” (Whoever you’re gonna face on the sportsfest would lose to you.) At the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. Divina somewhat agreed. “Oo nga eh. Pero mas okay sana kung nandito ka ano? Para ikaw yung escort.” (Yes indeed. But it would be better if you’re here, isn’t it? So that you’d be escorting me.)
Alden is still worried though. “Pano yan? Makakaabot ba kayo dito? Birthday ni Bossing. Siempre yung surprise natin di ba?”(How now? Can you make it here? It’s Bossing’s birthday. It’s about our surprise, right?) Bossing Vic talked away from the mic to avoid interrupting Alden and Divina at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. But he is still heard in the background. Divina replied. “Oo. Makakaabot kami. After parade, pupunta na kami diyan.” (Yes. We will make it. After the parade, we’d go there.)
Alden is known for being talkative. But he tried not to share too much at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Sayang. Pinaghandaan pa naman natin yung surprise natin. Yung gagawin mo? Never mo pang ginawa yun.” (It would be a pity [if you didn’t make it]. We prepared real well on our surprise number. What you’re about to do? You’ve never done that before.)
Bossing Vic was too excited to keep from commenting away from the microphone. It’s the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode after all. [HBD Bossing is short for “Happy birthday, Bossing”.] Divina assured Alden. “Mamaya. Pa-polish natin. Sandali lang naman parade.” (Later. We’d polish it. The parade won’t take that long.) Bossing Vic then said [still away from the mic]. “Ngayon na.” (Do it now.)
Alden’s reminders to Divina were endless. “Sige. Sayang yung ni-rehearse mo kundi matutuloy. Dun pa naman sa …. Kung aabot.” (Okay. What you rehearsed would go to waste if it won’t push through. Especially on the part where …. That is, if you would make it.) It made Divina self-conscious at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Baka mapahiya na naman ako. As usual.” (I might be embarrassed again.)
At the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. Alden kept the reminders going. “Basta tapusin nyo agad yung sportsfest ha?” (Just get the sportsfest done and over with, okay?) Divina was confident. “Oo. Siempre. Di kami puedeng mawala sa birthday ni Bossing.” (Yes. Of course. We can’t miss Bossing’s birthday.) Lola Nidora had a sad situation in mind. “E di magpapatalo tayo. Para tapos na agad.” (Then we let ourselves lose. So that it’s over.)
Divina was against it. “Hindi. Hindi po ganun, lola. Parade lang po. Tapusin lang po natin yun.” (No. Not that, granny. Just the parade. We’d just finish the parade.) Donya Tinidora was already impatient at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Ano na? Tuloy pa ba natin ito? Halika na. Umalis na tayo.” (What now? Shall we push through with this? Come on. Let’s go.)
The entourage is ready to go when Lola Nidora spotted Alden’s shirt. She thought Alden’s shirt has the same statement as that of Divina. Divina then tried to read it. “Music is my …” Boss Joey mocked his pronunciation. “BIBE.” Alden then finished the statement on his shirt worn at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “… Is my vibe.” Donya Tinidora supported Boss Joey’s mocked pronunciation. “May bibe.” (There is a duck.) [When “bibe” is read as /bee-beh/, it sounds like a Filipino word for “duck”.]
Divina pushed the mocked pronunciation even further. “Ako BIBE niyan.” (I’m his baby.) Alden retorted. “Of course.” Donya Tinidora failed to finish her line after a car horn honked off. Boss Joey started looking for Ging Ging at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. Turns out to be a barangay tanod with a letter. “May pinapaabot po si Chairman.” (A letter for you from Chairman.)
Divina asked what is it for. Apparently it’s for the sportsfest. “Basahin ko na, lola, ha?” (Let me read it, okay?) Boss Joey prompted Divina to start reading at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. Divina obliged. “Sa mga kalahok ng taunang sportsfest, mawalang-galang na po. Nais naming ipaalam na pansamantalang hindi muna matutuloy ang nakatakdang palaro.” (To the participants of the annual sportsfest, pardon for being rude. We’d like to inform you that the upcoming games are temporarily postponed.)
The grannies were aghast. Divina continued at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Ito ay dahil sa hindi inaasahang pagbabaha sa covered court kung saan sana gaganapin ang sportsfest.” (This is due to the unexpected flooding at the covered court where the sportsfest is supposed to be held.) Alden forgot to keep track of his words. “Ayos. Baha.” (Cool. There’s a flood.) [He should have been a little more considerate with his words.]
Donya Tinidora found it odd. “Ang init-init. Bumabaha?” (It’s scorching hot. Flood?) Divina continued reading at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Nagulat nga din po kami. Gaya ng sabi ko, hindi ito inaasahan.” (We were just as startled. Like what I said, this is unexpected.) Donya Tinidora complained. “Eh papano na yan? Handang handa na yung teamwork natin.” (What now? We’re all set for the teamwork.)
Alden was still too happy to contain himself. “Lola, ayaw nyo yun? Makakahabol kayo dito?” (Granny, don’t you like it? You can make it here.) Turns out that Divina isn’t done reading yet at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Relax lang po. Matutuloy pa rin naman ang ating palaro sa Lunes, 2 May 2016. Kaya mag-ready pa rin kayo.” (Please relax. The game would still push through on Monday. So remain prepared.)
Divina went on. “Sa ngayon maaari nyong ituloy ang anumang lakad tulad ng pagdalo sa birthday party.” (For now you may go to your other appointments like attending a birthday party.) It was enough to make Bossing Vic happy at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Okay ka, Chairman!” (That’s cool of you, Chairman!) Alden can’t help but think who could Chairman be. “Sino yan?” (Who could it be?)
Boss Joey heard it as well. “Malinaw ha?” (It’s clear, huh?) Donya Tinidora retorted. “Tuloy pa rin ang pagdalo ng birthday party. Sure na ba yan?” (We’d still go to the birthday party. But is that already sure?) By some stroke of improv hilarity, the letter replied as read by Divina at the ALDUB HBD Bossing. “Sure na. Paggalang, Chairman.” (It’s for sure. Respectfully yours, Chairman.)
Divina realized it too. “Lola, nakalagay po. Sure na. Sumasagot din.” (Granny, it’s written here. It’s for sure. And it replies.) Alden found it hilarious at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Ibang klase yung letter na yan.” (That letter is something else.) Alden turned his attention to the grannies. “So, lola, postponed. E di makakapunta na kayo dito.” (So, granny, it’s postponed. It means that you can make it here.)
Donya Tinidora’s sadness somewhat lessened though. “Okay naman ako kahit baha.” (I’m fine despite the flood.) Lola Nidora couldn’t contain her happiness though. “Ibig sabihin makakapunta na tayo sa birthday ni Marvic!” (It means we can finally attend Marvic’s birthday party!) Big Bang’s hit song “Fantastic Baby!” started playing in celebration. The crew danced only briefly before the truck horn honked off. Ending Act 1 of the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode.
As Lola Nidora’s entourage scampered their way to the van. Ging Ging rushed her lines before she gets left behind at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. “Hindi na po tuloy ang sportsfest. Kaya tuloy na po kami sa birthday party ni Bossing. Abangan nyo po kung anong mangyayari sa birthday ni Bossing. Babay!” (The sportsfest didn’t push through. So off we go to Bossing’s birthday party. Watch out what will happen to the party. Bye!)
And so the final part of Eat Bulaga’s birthday special was opened with Boss Joey de Leon providing some trivia about his collaboration with Bossing Vic Sotto. Not many viewers of the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode knew the VST & Company formula. Bossing Vic would compose the music. While Boss Joey would write the lyrics.
For “Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko”, Boss Joey already had the lyrics while Bossing Vic already has the music done. All that is left for them to do is put them together. Boss Joey then sung “Ikaw Ang Aking Mahal” for his special performance at the ALDUB HBD Bossing episode. Lola Nidora and Donya Tinidora then appeared to play the ukulele. Turns out that they were the opening act for Bossing Vic’s wife, Ms. Pauleen Luna.

What was the surprise of Alden and Divina at the ALDUB HBD Bossing? Divina had a cocktail dance as Alden channeled his Sunday PinaSaya alter ego, DJ Bae. It was followed by a dance number. A swing performance to the tune of VST & Company. And since it was The Boss’s birthday. Boss Joey put Alden and Divina on the spot. Their answer was simple. Divina rubbed her eyes. Alden in turn touched Divina’s right eye. It can finally be said. Or can it be?
