[ALDUB 6th Monthsary Featured Image from Eat Bulaga Facebook Page.] Since the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode fell on a Saturday. Lola Nidora and Donya Tinidora arrived at the Broadway Centrum studio ahead of Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB. Donya Tidora is expected to follow. [Eat Bulaga viewers already knew why.] Expectations are already high at this point. Several third wheels, forced and organic, have come along. Yet the only thing that is not yet official here is the relationship itself.
What was celebrated at the ALDUB EB Tamang Panahon special episode then? It was only the beginning of Alden finally getting allowed to see Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB with less to almost no interruption from Lola Nidora. She still snaps at Alden’s sneak attempts at getting extra closer to her grand-niece, of course. But if this is an employment contract, something’s gotta give now at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode.
For the meantime at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. Lola Nidora and Donya Tinidora reminisced what occurred upon seeing the backstage. Lola Nidora remembered how she turned the backstage into a “torture chamber” for Alden Richards without mentioning any episode in particular. “Muli kong nakita ang lugar na ito. Anim na buwan na ang nakakaraan.” (I saw this place once more. It’s been 6 months that has passed.)
Donya Tinidora has a contrasting memoir. “Naku! PA pa lang ako dito. Dami ko nang naaalala dito.” (Oh dear! I was still a production assistant here when I remember what has transpired.) Lola Nidora noted Donya Tinidora’s comment at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode as a little off. “Iba naman yun.” (That’s something else.) [Jose Manalo was once part of the crew of Eat Bulaga before getting discovered for his comic skills on live telecast episodes of Eat Bulaga. Eat Bulaga was already on GMA Network when it happened.]
Soon the resident hosts of Eat Bulaga welcomed Lola Nidora and Donya Tinidora onstage. When they asked where is Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB. Lola Nidora replied. “Kasama nung isang lola.” (She’s with the other granny.) While waiting for her at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. Eat Bulaga went through with their Bulaga Pa More Battle of the Champions. Later, Alden was shown on TV arranging the bouquet that he’s about to give to Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB.
Once Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB arrived. Alden gave the flowers. “Hi, Maine. Happy Monthsary.” Divina happily replied. “Happy Monthsary. Salamat sa pabulaklak.” (Thanks for the flowers.) Donya Tinidora’s observant eye strikes again. “Terno kayo?” (Couple outfits?) Divina tried to clarify the same shade of blue on the long-sleeved clothes that she and Alden wore at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. “Di po namain napag-usapan.” (We did not discussed it over.)
Alden exchanged a promise of “Walang iwanan” (No one left behind) with Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB. It seemed like a reaction to that brutally honest article by Josiah Go. [I plan to rebut that article in due time.] Alden then revealed one of the first surprises that he prepared for the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. “Maine, pinaghandaan ko itong monthsary eh. May gusto sana akong sabihin sa yo.” (Maine, I prepared for our monthsary. I’d like to tell you something.) Alden then proceeded to sing some lines from his cover version of The Itchyworms’ “Akin Ka Na Lang” (Be Mine Instead) Close to the end of the song. Divina ended up sitting on Alden’s lap. Lola Nidora glared at them again.
Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB had a simple answer to Alden’s song excerpt. “Simula pa lang, alam mo nang sa ‘yo na ko.” (From the very beginning, you already knew that I’m yours.) Alden reiterated what he said in the song outside the song number at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. “Please. Akin ka na lang.” (Be mine instead.) Divina a.k.a YayaDUB had to see if Alden is for real. “Seryoso ka talaga?” (Are you serious?) Another DUBsmash exchange ensued at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode.
Lola Nidora tried catching the couple’s attention though. “Baka gusto nyo kaming pansinin.” (Maybe you’d like to pay attention to us.) Donya Tidora had to remind Lola Nidora though. “Hayaan mo na. Nagmo-moments yung dalawa.” (Let them. They’re having their moments.) Lola Nidora waited for the next DUBsmash exchange to end before throwing in another complaint. “Akala ko ba monthsary. Nasan na yung pagkain?” (I thought it’s the monthsary. Where’s the food?) Previous weeksary episodes and monthsary episodes would include generous servings of food.
The food is at the gazebo for Alden and Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB to share. Alden then asked permission from the grannies. “Puede po ba kaming mag-solo date, lola? Kakain lang po.” (May we have a date to ourselves, grannies? We will just eat.) Lola Nidora said they may. She even had to repeat herself to her sisters who failed to hear her say “Go!” Donya Tinidora then asked Alden to pack some food for the grannies too at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. Donya Tidora then just left a request for them. “Ipagbalot nyo kami ha?” (Pack some food for us [to take home], okay?) Alden agreed.
The “isaw” (grilled chicken intestines) is now a staple at their dates just like at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. Donya Tinidora then thought dating YayaDUB for Alden is economical. “Kaya gustong gusto niya si Yaya. Matipid. Isaw lang, okay na.” (No wonder he liked nanny so much. It’s affordable. Grilled chicken intestines served and she’s fine.) Lola Nidora thought that it might be some leftovers from the holiday dinner.
Since the Kalye’s Angels are at the Broadway Centrum. Sugod Broadway is up again. The chosen winner brought a gift for Alden Richards in behalf of the MAINEnatics QC Chapter. A Funko Iron Maine action figure. Her message at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary for a lasting relationship was simple but true. “Maipapayo ko po sa kanila, give-and-take lang. Yung mga maliliit na issue, wag nang palakihin.” (I would advice them to handle the relationship in a give-and-take manner. Any small issue should not be enlarged anymore.) She received applause for what she said.
After the Sugod-Broadway errand at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. Lola Nidora then noticed the table between Alden and Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB. “Napapansin ko. Umiksi na yung table nila.” (I noticed. Their table has gotten shorter.) Much of the conversation between the ALDUB couple is done off-air. Once they got back their microphones. Alden reminded Divina of what he told her. “Yung sinabi ko sa yo ha?” (Remember what I told you, okay?)
Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB can’t give a definite answer yet at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. “Sige. Pag-iisipan ko. Saka alam mo naman na iyong iyo na ako, Alden. Totoo. Seryoso yun.” (Okay. I would think about it. And you already knew that I am all yours, Alden. For real. Seriously.)
Alden had to push the idea that he’s serious too. “Parang wala ako sa mood mag-joke.” (I don’t think I’m in the mood for joking.) Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB stretched the idea on her end at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary too. “Kaya ngayon paggising ko, seryoso ako. Hindi ako ngumingiti. Pagkakita ko sa yo, nakangiti na ako.” (So upon waking up today, I am serious. I don’t smile. Upon seeing you, I smiled.)
Later, Alden and Divina were exchanging whispers. It got everyone excited. Senator Tito thought that it’s about something else. “May mga lumalabas na litrato nina Yaya at Alden. Photoshop yan. Wag nyong ginagamit si Alden at si YayaDUB.” (Several images of Nanny and Alden were circulating online. They were photoshopped. Don’t use Alden and Nanny.)
Bossing strongly agreed by exclaiming. “Oo nga!” (Yes indeed!) Donya Tinidora repeated what she had been reiterating all along even at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. “Kaya delikado yang papa-fan sign. Pinapalitan nila yung nakasulat.” (That’s why fan signs are dangerous. They change what’s written on them.)
Alden and Divina neither confirmed nor denied Senator Tito’s claim. But they promised a surprise underway at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. And since reminiscing is unavoidable at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. Donya Tidora and Donya Tinidora reminded Lola Nidora how she made life hell for Alden. “Ang may kagagawan ng lahat. Si Ate. Dami mong pinagawa sa mga bata. May plywood. May long table.” (All [travails] caused by one person. Our elder sister. You made these kids go through so much [hardships]. From the plywood to the long table.) It was almost a litany of the almost Herculean tasks that Lola Nidora subjected Alden to.
Lola Nidora was a little fed up of the blame game that her sisters often subjected her to. “Pumunta tayo para sa monthsary. Hindi sa sinisisi mo ko.” (We’re here for the monthsary. Not to be your scapegoat.) Donya Tidora found some justification in Lola Nidora’s explanation at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. “Sabagay. Naging matatag sila sa mga pangaral mo.” (On the other hand. They were strengthened by your lessons.)
Lola Nidora then remembered the same troubles that the House of De Explorer had gone through. “Madaling malampasan ang mga pagsubok kapag may mga mahal sa buhay.” (Trials are easily endured when you have your loved ones.) Alden and Divina assured her that they will always be close. “Andito lang po kami. Love na love po namin kayo at ng ALDUB Nation.” (We’re only here. We love you very much and so is the ALDUB Nation.)
Lola Nidora could only think of the stark differences between her time and now. “Sa panahon namin ni Miguel, anniversary lang. Ngayon, monthsary, tapos weeksary. Di magtatagal pati daysary at hoursary. (During our time of Miguel, we only celebrate anniversaries. Now there are monthsaries and weeksaries. Soon even daysaries and hoursaries will be celebrated.) The Kalye’s Angels then revealed their own surprise for ALDUB and the ALDUB Nation at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. They then performed a cover of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive”. Donya Tidora went falsetto. Donya Tinidora ate her lyrics. And Lola Nidora managed to sing clearly.
A Q&A with the fans then followed at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. It was facilitated by Allan K himself. One of the questions that sparked everyone’s interest was “In real life ba, may nagaganap bang monthsary?” (Are there monthsary celebrations in real life?) Donya Tinidora’s answer was vague. “Araw-araw kasama namin siya. Napapansin ko. Araw-araw kasama namin siya.” (We are with her [Maine] everyday. I noticed that. Everyday we are with her.) Lola Nidora’s answer was a lot safer. “Iti-text ko na lang sa yo ang sagot.” (I’d just send you [Allan K] my answer through text.)
Another question at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode went as “Ano feeling nyo kapag nagkikita kayo?” (How do you feel whenever you see each other?) Maine answered it first. “Pag alam kong magkikita kami, alam kong masaya ako.” (Every time I know that we will see each other, I know that I’m happy.) Alden then answered. “Kung ano ang nakikita nyo sa KalyeSerye, yun na yun.” (Whatever you see at the KalyeSerye, that’s it.)
Allan K accepts even questions thrown in from Twitter. He read one of them. “I want to ask A [for Alden] what inspired him [in his first DUBsmash clip].” Alden found a ready answer at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. “Kasi naniniwala na ako sa forever. Yan yun unang DUBsmash na unang tumatak sa akin.” (Because I now believe in forever. That’s is the first DUBsmash track that made a mark on me.) There was also a question for Maine from Twitter. “If you could take Alden on a tour of New York, where?” Maine’s answer is easy. “Central Park. Kasi favorite movie ko yung Serendipity. Happy accident.” (Because my favorite movie is Serendipity.)
Alden and Maine then sent out a message to everyone that stayed through all those 6 months. “Meron talagang may magbababa. Hindi po kayo bumitaw. Anniversary. 5 years. Forever. Wag mawawalan ng tiwala sa Dios.” (There really are people that would try to drag you down. And you [ALDUB Nation and the rest of the fan clubs] never let go. Until the anniversary. 5 years. Until forever. Never lose faith in God.) Allan K took the time to send out a message to their detractors too at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. “At sa mga naninira at mga bashers, style nyo bulok.” (And to the detractors and bashers, you’re style is so rotten.)
Alden then turned to his better half. “Magbabago ang lahat. Pero ang ALDUB hindi magbabago.” (Everything will change. But ALDUB will never change.) She asked him. “Promise?” He replied. “Promise.” Alden then reminded her of the surprise they prepared for the fans. But first. The ALDUB couple delivered their DUBsmash greatest hits. From the Malaysian DUBsmash to the pabebe girls version 1 and version 2. It served as the prologue to their dance number at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode.
The Kalye’s Angels had a simple feedback to them at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary dance number. “Kelan nyo ni-rehearse yan?” (When did you rehearse that?) Alden replied not so seriously. “Kanina lang po.” (Just awhile ago.) Divina’s answer didn’t help either. “Pinakiramdaman ko po.” (I just played it by ear.) Alden then tried to divert the topic back to his question to Divina. “Divina Ursula Bocbocoba Smash. Seryoso ako sa tanong kanina.” (I am serious about my question awhile ago.)
Divina looked like she’s at a loss for words. Alden continued. “Mas madali nang harapin dahil ikaw at ako. Tayong dalawa. Yung tanong ko sa yo kanina. Puede mo na bang sagutin? Puede bang akin ka na lang?” (It’s now easier to face [the future] because of you and me. The two of us. About my question awhile ago. May you please answer it now? Will you be mine?) Divina found it harder to speak at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode now that Alden has revealed. Alden has officially popped the question. Divina is still at a loss for words.
Alden pressed further. “Gusto ko lang linawin. Hindi na to joke. Para sagutin mo na ko.” (I want to be clear. It’s no longer a joke. So that you may answer me.) Divina looked at Lola Nidora. Earlier, Alden whispered the same question to Lola Nidora too. At least this would mean less shocks for Lola Nidora at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode. Lola Nidora then told Divina. “Divina, may tinatanong si Alden. Decision mo yan. Labas na ko diyan.” (Alden is asking you. It’s your decision. Count me out.) Divina then answered. “Pero sa tatlong condition.” (But on 3 conditions.) Just when she was about to blurt the first condition, the truck horn honked off. Closing the ALDUB 6th Monthsary on another cliffhanger.
