President Rodrigo Roa Duterte talks to the Filipino people about the government’s latest policy decisions and directions after presiding over a meeting with several Cabinet Secretaries as the country continues to address the effects of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
The President issues an order to expedite the release of government assistance and compensation to infected health workers and those who died of COVID-19. He also directs all appointed officials in the concerned government agencies to proactively assist their respective Cabinet Secretaries in order to speed up the release of compensation.
Likewise, he issues a stern warning to those who would engage in any form of corruption and cautioned the people not to fall for any scams.
The President calls on the Filipino people to stay vigilant against COVID-19, reminding them to strictly follow the minimum health standards such as social distancing, wearing of face masks and frequent washing of hands.
