#ALDUBNotALDUH The ALDUB not ALDUH episode opens with Duh. She makes a scene early in this episode by being carried around by the Rogelio’s. Like it’s some production number that needed to match her entrance theme. Fifth Harmony’s “I’m Worth It”. And apparently, she has a change of heart when it comes to Frankie. Or does she?
Duh thinks of herself as someone too irresistible to ignore. She doesn’t get why someone of Frankie’s status would go for a nanny like YayaDUB. A NANNY?!?!?!?! Someone beneath Frankie’s status. And someone whom Duh doesn’t consider in the same level as her. She made some efforts to seduce Frankie. But to no avail. Frankie apparently saw Duh as the trailer park trash material that she is. So, in this ALDUB Not ALDUH episode. Duh just went back to bullying YayaDUB.
She called YayaDUB since she carried her “StarBox” drink. STARBOX! And Duh got upset. Not because the tumbler says “STARBOX” but because it contained “kapeng barato”. Perhaps from the word “barat” which means cheapskate. YayaDUB went into arranging stuff that Duh would dare not touch. Frankie immediately went to her in an effort to help. YayaDUB felt dizzy again. Frankie tried to distance himself out of fear that YayaDUB would collapse in this ALDUB Not ALDUH episode.
As Duh went on nagging her, YayaDUB just looked at her. Looked, not stared. This is still Lola Nidora’s granddaughter so while glaring at her on the ALDUB You Lola episode happened. She tried not doing it again. As much as YayaDUB had her snobbish and snappy tendencies. She knows how to restrain herself. Frankie chastised Duh for going too far. The ALDUB Not ALDUH episode might have served as an opportunity to present Frankie as someone genuinely concerned with YayaDUB.
YayaDUB earned some confidence with Frankie taking her side. She felt bad at the unfair treatment Duh gave her. As much as Lola Nidora is strict and old school, she’s appreciative of YayaDUB’s diligence. There may be instances where she comes up short. Like those episodes where the medicine box contained stray buttons. But Lola Nidora wasn’t hard on YayaDUB. She was hard on Alden. This served as the contrast to Duh’s treatment of YayaDUB presented in the ALDUB Not ALDUH episode. While Lola Nidora blamed Alden for everything that went wrong in her life. Duh blamed YayaDUB. Of course, it comes with having an agenda as far as Alden is concerned.
Duh believes that she can seduce Alden away from YayaDUB. She even exhibited her skills in pole dancing. Which is … not much. YayaDUB was just staring at Duh as she made a fool out of herself. The hosts left at Broadway Centrum were just laughing their hearts out at this travesty happening right before their eyes. It’s the funny kind of BS that YayaDUB (and in some part, the audience) had to endure while waiting for Alden. Will Alden show up in this ALDUB Not ALDUH episode?
Of course he will. Alden was shown leaning to the wall as if covering something. Then he gave way to a whiteboard with the words “Alden Heart Maine”. ha was giddy all over again. Later he asked YayaDUB through a sign “Kumain ka na ba?” (Have you eaten?). The ALDUB Not ALDUH episode showed Alden’s proactive efforts at a conversation. They may be limited to signboards and Dubsmash for now. But he really makes the most of the little time that he gets to talk to YayaDUB.
Later, Alden asked “Miss mo ba ako?” (Do you miss me?) YayaDUB replied with another question “Ikaw? Miss mo ko?” (You? You miss me?). Alden replied with “Miss na miss” (Miss you so much). YayaDUB was forthright in admitting her giddyness by replying “Kilig ako! Hihihi!” (I feel giddy! Hihihi!) Alden then posted “Ingat lagi!” (Be safe always!) with a smiley. YayaDUB replied with “Para sa yo magiingat ako lalo” (For you I will be careful even more).
The giddyness shown in the ALDUB Not ALDUH episode was interrupted. Duh! Duh saw the sign and declared that Alden loved her all along. Duh claimed that her full name was Duhrizz Maine. It prompted Alden to change “Maine” to YayaDUB. Alden even added extra ink on the D in YayaDUB. He will not let Duh ruin the feel-good moments he tried to maximize with YayaDUB. And Alden is grossed out with Duh. Some women could be admired for the confidence they possess in thinking they’re a lot beautiful than they actually are. But in the case of Duh, nu-uh.
Duh threatened to tell Lola Nidora everything. It really showed the level of intelligence that Duh has which is not much. She walked out after failing to seduce Alden and Frankie. And after failing to corner YayaDUB. Frankie offered to help YayaDUB. But he has difficulty getting close to YayaDUB. She gets dizzy at having him too close to her. Frankie still wanted to marry her. But she could only offer him friendship. With Duh nowhere to be found in this ALDUB Not ALDUH episode. YayaDUB was left for Alden to talk to freely.
The sweetness continued in the ALDUB Not ALDUH episode. More because Duh has become less of a threat. What else is left for her to make “sumbong” to Lola Nidora when everyone else in the world including their dogs already knew of the ALDUB relationship? Which begs the question – what happened to “Countdown to Tamang Panahon”? Was it just a desperate monkey wrench that Lola Nidora threw in?
Alden then asked YayaDUB “Anong favorite food mo?” (What’s your favorite food?) YayaDUB replied “Isaw ng manok” (Chicken intestines). Alden said “Dala ako bukas?” (I’d bring some tomorrow?) YayaDUB replied “Sige. Date tayo soon” (Okay. Let’s have a date soon). Alden asked “Bakit soon? Pwede ba ngayon na?” (Why soon? Can it be now?) Frankie couldn’t take it anymore and posted his own sign saying “Pakasalan mo ko” (Marry me) Frankie added “Paparetoke ko muka ko” (I would have cosmetic surgery) YayaDUB just replied “Yuck”. Frankie doing the “pabebe wave” doesn’t help. In the ALDUB Not ALDUH episode, Frankie was less annoying compared to Duh. The exchange of signboards was interrupted by the sound of a car horn.
It turns out to be Lola Nidora herself. A man in a faded Barong Tagalog pushed her wheelchair. She has the oxygen tube right up her nose. The hosts at the Broadway Centrum were amused at how quick it was for Lola Nidora to return. And it was only minutes ago when Duh threatened to make “sumbong” to Lola Nidora. Alden almost broke character and found the transition funny. Consistent to the nice facade that the ALDUB Not ALDUH episode make Frankie to look like. Frankie immediately greeted her. YayaDUB was quick to fan her with their abaniko. One Rogelio carried the dextrose while standing beside Lola Nidora’s paramedic.
Lola Nidora then reminded YayaDUB of the letter she sent the latter. She gave Frankie the permission to read it. This time though, the letter was clear enough to be shown to the audience. As opposed to the letter that YayaDUB read in the ALDUB You Lola episode but did not show to the public. Frankie read it himself this time in the ALDUB Not ALDUH episode. He then showed it to the camera bearing the words “Lola Nidora is really , really sick. She is dying”. Signed, Dr. Tan-Ning, MD.
YayaDUB was inconsolable beside her. She was on the verge of breaking down herself. Lola Nidora then struggled to give her final wishes. Frankie tried to convince her that she will live longer. YayaDUB swore that she will never leave her side. As Lola Nidora tried to speak further, she passes out. Fade out to Frankie screaming “Lola!”
And the plot thickens. Perhaps thicker than Frankie’s skin. What lies ahead of the ALDUB KalyeSerye now that Lola Nidora has her final trump card? The best way to find out is by tuning in to Eat Bulaga, Monday to Saturday during noontime.
