The ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode gives us a little hint as to where their next Sugod Bahay errand is. Lola Nidora and Donya Tinidora arrived ahead of Alden and Divina. It was a trip that Donya Tinidora found pleasant. “Ang gusto ko dito sa barangay, parating pa lang tayo, nakahanda na ang upuan.” (What I like about trips to barangay, we were just on our way, and the seats are ready.)
Lola Nidora then started looking for her grand-niece and her friend. “Nasan na ba sina Alden at Divina?” (Where is Alden and Divina?) Turns out that Alden and Divina are in a separate van. They hopped off and walked to the tune of “Shut Up And Dance With Me”. There were bouncers ready to cover for them due to the thick crowd at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. But Alden was ready to cover for Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB a.k.a. Maine Mendoza.
Alden and Divina paid their respects to the grannies upon reaching their spot. Lola Nidora just commented on their entrance at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. “Nakuha nyo pang magsasasayaw sa haba ng biyahe.” (You can even dance with the time it took the trip here.) Alden just asked the grannies instead. “Nag-enjoy po ba kayo, lola?” (Did you enjoy the journey, granny?) Lola Nidora did not directly answer the question. “Si Tinidora, nage-enjoy sa ganitong byahe.” (Tinidora enjoys trips this long.)
Lola Nidora then had to ask why the ALDUB 27th Weeksary had to be spent in a place this far from the Metro. “Bakit ba tayo nandito sa Lumban, Laguna?” (Why are we here at Lumban, Laguna?) Donya Tinidora had something else in mind. “Eto. Naka-tangga tayo.” (Here we are. We are wearing tanggas.) [The tanggas were not shown if ever they are worn.] Alden removed Divina’s shades. Leading to another DUBsmash exchange at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. Lola Nidora would just glare at Alden once in a while to tone down the hormones, in case they become a factor.
Senator Tito saw the way Alden removed Divina’s shades at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. “Mabait nga si Alden. Sa mga pelikula kapag tinatanggal yung salamin at cap, may nangyayaring ano.” (Alden indeed is a gentleman. In movies, what usually happens whenever the shades and the cap are taken off, something else happens.) Later, some of the things sewn on Divina’s jacket were noticed. One patch says “Thinking of You”. Another patch says “I LOVE IT”.
Alden was then asked to play the ukulele again at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. Alden begged off. “Hindi pa po ako sanay eh.” (I’m still getting the hang of it.) Donya Tinidora got skeptical about the relationship due to Alden’s hang-ups. “Tingnan natin kung tutuloy pa ba natin o hindi na.” (Let’s see then if we should push through with this or not.) Alden just looked at Divina right to her eyes. He took it as a signal to play despite his apprehensions. Divina looked on as he played. The sparkle was obvious in her eyes at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode.
Alden accepted Donya Tinidora’s challenge and started playing the ukulele. It has improved at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. It sounded closer now to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. Donya Tinidora was somewhat pleased. “Meron na ha? Puede na.” (There’s enough tune. It’s good enough.) Donya Tinidora and Lola Nidora ended up having small talk not noticing that Alden and Divina has joined the marching band. Alden carried the big drum. Divina was twirling the baton.
Donya Tinidora later joined them to be the marching band’s conductor. Later at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. Donya Tinidora asked the band if they knew other tunes. The band then played Mambo No. 5. Upon further prodding, they played the big band cover of Brian White’s “God Gave Me You”. It just sounded a little like some funeral tune. Donya Tinidora and Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB were then in tears calling out Lola Nidora. Lola Nidora had to remind her immediate family. “Buhay pa ko!” (I’m still alive.)
To make it sound less like a funeral procession tune. Alden sang along to the music. He had to put down the big drum for him to do that at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. After singing, he brought out his weeksary gifts for Divina and her grannies. “Eto po espasol, kesong puti at saka po pan de sal. Authentic po ito. Laguna-made.” (Here are some espasol, white cheese and pan de sal.) [These are delicacies native to Laguna. Espasol is coconut meat covered in powder and wrapped in paper. White cheese is compacted carabao milk with salt. Pan de sal is the better known in the Philippines as the local breakfast bread.]
Divina, Lola Nidora and Donya Tinidora are thankful for the treats. It prompted Lola Nidora to give her ALDUB 27th Weeksary message. “Marami ang nagmamahal sa inyo. Marami rin ang naiinip. Marami ang bumibitaw. Eh wala tayong magagawa.” (So many people love you. So many have gotten tired of waiting too. Many have let go. There is nothing we can do about them.) There wasn’t any bitterness in the way she said it. Just being matter-of-factly. Then Lola Nidora mentioned what ALDUB is. “Hindi araw-araw kilig. Araw-araw pag-ibig.” (A heart’s flutter doesn’t happen everyday. Love happens everyday.)
Donya Tinidora agreed. She emphasized how Alden’s generosity is one of the reasons behind the blessings that come to them. “Ayan. Namigay ka.” (Here [holding the delicacies]. You gave willingly.) The goal of being more than just a love team is emphasized then at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. Alden himself declared the reason why the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode was done at Lumban, Laguna. “Mamaya po masasaksihan natin ang unang ALDUB library.” (Later we will witness the first ALDUB Library.)
The KalyeSerye commentary panel agreed. They were a little concerned if any delicacies could still reach them. Donya Tinidora vouched for them at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. “Tito Sen, makakarating ang pasalubong. Di po natin masisiguro kung makakarating sa bibig nyo.” (Senator Tito, the treats will make it [to Broadway Centrum]. We just can’t guarantee if it will reach your mouth.) Senator Tito just sent over some reminders regarding the delicacies. “Yung espasol, puede nyo nang ubusin. Basta dalhan nyo kami ng kesong puti.” (You may consume all of the espasol. Just leave some white cheese for us.)
Donya Tinidora then told Alden to put the wrapped chunks of white cheese away from the sun. Otherwise, they’d melt before making it to the metro. Donya Tinidora then supported Lola Nidora’s statement at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. “Di puro sarili iniintindi. Iniintindi nila pano makakatulong sa kapwa.” (It’s not always about themselves. They also think of how can they help others.) Divina then spotted Lola Nidora eating the espasol. “Si Lola, sumisimple.” (Granny is quiet on the side [eating the espasol by herself].)
Going to their Sugod Bahay errand at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode was quite tough. The crowd was thick. And Alden himself joined the bouncers in protecting Divina too. There may be several reasons for the Lumban trip apart from what was already mentioned. Until Senator Tito and Boss Joey mentioned how Lumban was the source of the best embroidery on pina and jusi cloth. Perfect for weddings. Discovering that their winner was a veteran embroidery worker herself was the ultimate sign.
Fast forward to the opening at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. Alden was seen doing one of the easiest tasks he gets as a celebrity. He gets to do it with Divina. The ribbon-cutting. Among the libraries that started construction using the funds raised from the ALDUB EB Tamang Panahon special episode. The ALDUB Library in Lumban Central Elementary School was the first to be officially opened. Senator Tito emphasized the contribution of the ALDUB Nation. “Sa lahat ng bumili ng ticket, sa inyo po galing yan.” (To everyone who bought tickets, that [library] was from you.)
After Divina and Alden cut the ribbon. Lola Nidora showered the place with coins for the kids to pick up. A Catholic priest was present for blessing the library. He read a few lines from his misalette before sprinkling Holy Water on the premises. Senator Tito somewhat reminded Donya Tinidora at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. “Baka matunaw ka, Tinidora.” (Tinidora, you might melt [upon getting sprinkled with Holy Water].)
The facilities were shown along with the books. On one wall was written “Ito na ang tamang panahon para magbasa.” (This is the right time to read.) Lola Nidora’s entourage got to interview the principal too. “Ilan po ba ang estudiante rito?” (How many students do you have here?) Ms. Anabelle Castro, the school principal, spoke to them live. “Mga mahigit 600 po.” (We have more than 600 students.) Their previous library ended up becoming their spare classroom to accommodate all of the students.
The ALDUB Library looked neat with touches of the ALDUB influence. One Maine Mendoza poster is shown with the reminder “Quiet please”. Some bookshelves looked like oversized bee hives. There is an audio visual room. And some computers for research. It made Donya Tinidora tell the young boys in the ALDUB Library shown at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. “Yung mga bata, bawal mag-DOTA.” (Kids are not allowed to play Defense Of The Ancients [DOTA].)
A big dictionary is also found in the room. Lola Nidora roamed around the ALDUB Library and saw the rest room. “Di mo na kailangang lumabas. Meron ding rest room.” (No need to go out. There is also a rest room.) Ms. Castro was so thankful for the library opened at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. “Yun pong mga books namin, mga obsolete na. Mga galing States na dino-donate.” (Our books [in the old library] have gone obsolete. They were mostly donated from the US.) A new library meant updated books.
Donya Tinidora then asked some of the students who already sat in the library. “Ano ang gagawin mo pagdating mo dito sa library?” (What would you do upon getting into the library?) One of the students answered. “Magsasaliksik po.” (I will research.) Another student replied at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. “Ito po ay makakatulong sa aming pagaaral.” (It will be helpful in our studies.)
Lola Nidora then reminded the students on how to handle the books properly. “Maayos ang pagkakakuha. At maayos ang pagkakabalik. At wag nyong susulatan ng kung anu-ano. Wag nyong balahurain.” (Pick them nicely. And return them nicely. Don’t write unnecessary stuff on them. Don’t vandalize your books.) With the ALDUB Library officially open at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. Everyone who contributed to the project were acknowledged. Team Arena. Team Bahay. Team Abroad. Everyone even those who can’t make it to the Arena itself sent their donations online.
Allan K was amazed at where it ended up. “Kilig kilig lang nag-umpisa ito. Nakatulong kayo sa mga magaaral na Pilipino.” (To think that it all started as just something giddy. And you have ended up helping Filipino students.) With this, the entire De Explorer entourage proudly declared. “Ito na ang tamang panahon para magbasa!” (This is the right time to read.) Forever goes on as of the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. And this is just the beginning.
Lola Nidora had to remind everyone before they get carried away at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode. “Magpasalamat na kayo at may dadaluhan pa tayong bridal shower.” (Start thanking everyone [in person] now. We have a bridal shower to attend to.) Before she could explain what a bridal shower is, the truck horn honked off. End of ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode.
What bridal shower? Boss Joey thought that the shower might happen ahead of the wedding. Nice play on words. To catch up on the replays, like Eat Bulaga’s official Facebook page. You get to see the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode replay upon checking their massive playlist.
Which area gets to finish their ALDUB Library next? Would this mean a new library opened every month like what happened at the ALDUB 27th Weeksary episode? There would be more episode recaps to be witnessed. So make sure that you like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter respectively. We’d be expecting you.
