The ALDUB 15th Weeksary episode opens with Donya Tinidora capitalizing on the Cuando Cuando Cuando’s notoriety. Halloween is approaching. So might as well have a pseudo-contest involving her army of zombies. To increase the fear factor that the zombies possess. Donya Tinidora had them masked with Alden’s faces first. Whether she intended this for the ALDUB 15th Weeksary or not, only Donya Tinidora knew.
It kept the KalyeSerye commentators amused for awhile. Donya Tinidora’s organizing skills revealed the party-going skills that she put into good use. Besides, knowing the issues that hounded Lola Nidora at no end. Donya Tinidora had to keep the party going. Or in this case, get the party warmed up for the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. Donya Tidora stayed close to help Donya Tinidora present the Cuando Cuando Cuando in a “positive” light. (At least they don’t ask anymore when the respective corpses died.)
Finally, Lola Nidora arrived to the tune of Dawin’s Dessert along with YayaDUB. She went straight to the mic. “Nagulat kayo ano? Akala nyo impostor! Ako ang kapatid nyo!” (You were shocked, weren’t you? You thought it’s some impostor! I am your sister!) Donya Tidora laughed it off. “Akala ko contestant.” (I thought it’s a contestant too.) With YayaDUB now present, one of the KalyeSerye commentators, Senator Tito Sotto, shared with her the good news perfect for the ALDUB 15th Weeksary.
An Italy-based Filipino artist named AG Saño painted a mural with YayaDUB’s face as peg for mother nature’s face as reported by Philippine Daily Inquirer. (Philippine Daily Inquirer was one of the top broadsheets in the country.) Senator Tito used his tablet to show to the camera the mural that has YayaDUB’s face on it. YayaDUB was so happy. She DUBsmashed “Happy” in the ALDUB 15th Weeksary episode. This also prompted the Broadway Centrum crew to highlight other sketches. It was some ALDUB Nation inhabitants that sketched them.
Donya Tidora then directed her attention to Lola Nidora. “Naku, ate. Tingnan mo hitsura mo ngayon. Parang meron ka nang clue about sa bahay ni Lola. Ang saya saya mo na eh.” (Elder sister. Look at how you look now. It seems like you already got a clue about granny’s house. You look happy.) Lola Nidora can’t tell if Donya Tidora is being sarcastic or clueless. She pointed to her face. “Masaya na ba to?” (You call this happy?) She looked exasperated though at the ALDUB 15th Weeksary episode. “Hindi ko maalala yung lugar. Kung saang lugar yung bahay ni Lola.” (I don’t remember the place. On which place is granny’s house.)
Lola Nidora had trouble remembering the house. She and her sisters were very young when they last went there. “Isipin mo. Almost 80 years na. 80 years ago na yun. Paano nating maaalala yun? Wala naman dun sa diary na nakasulat.” (Think about it. It’s almost 80 years. That was 80 years ago. How can we remember that? It’s not written on the diary.) In the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. Lola Nidora was quick to blame the diary’s thieves. “Kasalanan ito ng nagnakaw ng diary. Kulang-kulang ang pahina. Hindi ko tuloy alam kung saan hahanapin ang bahay. Itong si Yaya problemado din nga. Hindi na nakakatulog to eh.” (It’s the diary’s thieves’ fault. Pages are lacking. I don’t know anymore where to locate the house. Nanny is problematic too. She could not even sleep.) YayaDUB agreed by DUBsmashing Queen’s “I Want To Break Free”.
Donya Tinidora appeased YayaDUB. She assured her that everything would be fine. “Tayo pa ba? We are the Kalye’s Angels!” Donya Tidora advised Lola Nidora. “Ate, alam mo. Ang mabuti pa itago mo na yung diary. Baka mamaya mawala pa ulit yan.” (Elder sister, you know. It would be better for you to keep the diary. It might get lost later.) Turns out in the ALDUB 15th Weeksary episode that the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio held it. One of them handed it over to YayaDUB. She handed it over to Lola Nidora. She had the diary’s bag handed over too.
Lola Nidora tried to put the diary in the Chanel bag. It was at this point in the ALDUB 15th Weeksary episode that the riding in tandem appeared. The one at the back snatched the diary away from Lola Nidora. Both Lola Nidora and YayaDUB chased the riding in tandem. It was easy for them as the motor only went around them. As expected, the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio reacted much later. But they managed to corner the riding in tandem. Particularly the masked guy holding the diary. Donya Tidora almost joined in the melee. But she could only scream. Donya Tinidora stayed seated while telling everyone around her to chase the riding in tandem.
The masked guy put his hand forward as if surrendering. He still held the diary though. Lola Nidora took advantage of the masked guy’s stance and retrieved the diary. It almost resulted in a showdown by the covered court at the ALDUB 15th Weeksary episode. With him cornered, he revealed himself. It was Alden Richards. Lola Nidora almost had a heart attack. “Alden naman, hijo!” (Alden, please, son!) YayaDUB was beside herself. But she could not bring herself to beat Alden. So she beat up the other half of the riding in tandem.
Lola Nidora scolded Alden. “Alden, wag ka naman nagbibiro ng ganyan!” (Alden, stop kidding around like that!) Boss Joey de Leon then asked YayaDUB. “Ano, Yaya? Lalaban ka?” (What now, nanny? Are you going to fight?) YayaDUB can’t bring herself to beat Alden still. Donya Tidora would occasionally beat Alden with her folded fan. Donya Tinidora would push Alden around. Often towards YayaDUB. Later she pushed YayaDUB too. “Ikaw, bata ka! Lumayas ka na nga!” (And you, kid! Get out of here!) And YayaDUB got pushed towards Alden at the ALDUB 15th Weeksary episode. Alden removed his jacket and started paying his respects to the grannies.
YayaDUB was clearly caught off guard at the ALDUB 15th Weeksary episode. Everyone was so happy. Senator Tito was so carried away with the developments. He ended up pushing Allan K a little too hard sideways. “Ba’t ako ang tinutulak mo?” (Why are you pushing ME?) Senator Tito apologized quickly. Alden then greeted YayaDUB. “Happy Weeksary”. YayaDUb replied. “Happy Weeksary”. Boss Joey can’t help but comment. “Weeksary pala. Hindi maayos yung beso-beso. Parang dinunggol lang eh.” (It’s the weeksary. The kiss wasn’t very neat. It looked pushed.) That’s when Alden remembered the preparations he made for the ALDUB 15th Weeksary.
Alden went back to his stuff. To celebrate the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. Alden gave each of the grannies flowers. Donya Tidora was speechless. Donya Tinidora was thankful for another bouquet. “Hay salamat! May malalagay na naman ako sa altar.” (Thank goodness! I have something for the altar again.) Alden returned to his stuff and pulled out a box. “Eto yung nakalimutan kong ibigay nung Saturday.” (This is what I forgot to give last Saturday.) It was the box of roses he was supposed to give YayaDUB before giving her the lost shoe. YayaDUB thanked Alden for the roses. Alden went back to DUBsmashing Brian White’s “God Gave Me You”.
Alden set another surprise for YayaDUB. “Sandali lang, Maine. Siempre di naman ako papayag na basta basta lumagpas ang 15th Weeksary natin. May sorpresa ako sa yo.” (Wait, Maine. Of course I won’t allow that the 15th Weeksary pass us by. I have a surprise for you.) After sensing Alden needed extra manpower, YayaDUB called on the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio. Donya Tinidora blurred the lines between reel and real again at the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. “Meng, totoo ka. Wag mo kaming lokohin.” (Meng, you’re being yourself. Don’t dupe us.) One of the Rogelio put the box of roses away for the meantime.
With the help of the other Rogelio. Alden set the table for him and YayaDUB. He even helped YayaDUB sit down on her chair. Lola Nidora felt a little resentment. “Tingnan mo itong mga batang ito! Kakain sila. Tayo manonood lang.” (Look at these kids! They will eat. We will just watch.) Donya Tinidora calmed Lola Nidora down. “Pabayaan na natin, ate.” (Let’s let them, elder sister.) Alden appeased them though at the ALDUB 15th Weeksary celebration. “Kasama rin po kayo, mga lolas.” (You’re included too, grannies.) YayaDUB seconded the motion for Alden. “Lahat po tayo dito. Weeksary po natin ito.” (We’re all in this together. It’s our Weeksary.)
Donya Tinidora could only ask how. “Pano naman kami kakasya diyan?” (How will we fit there?) Lola Nidora still felt left out at the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. “Diet kami.” (We’re on a diet.) For the food, it was the Cuando Cuando Cuando that helped Alden carry them on the tables for ALDUB and for the grannies. Of course, the course included YayaDUB’s favorite snack, “isaw” (grilled chicken intestines). Alden and YayaDUB shared the “isaw” as he DUBsmashed to Jay-R Siaboc’s “Hiling”.
Alden then asked YayaDUB. “Kumusta, Maine?” (How are you, Maine?) YayaDUB replied. “Okay lang. Ikaw?” (I’m okay. You?) Alden had a follow up question. “Nagulat ka ba?” (Were you surprised?) YayaDUB was suppressing her laughter at the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. Lola Nidora was seen from behind fanning YayaDUB. Donya Tinidora got some water for YayaDUB. “Hindi pa kumakain, nabubulunan na.” (She hasn’t eaten yet she’s choking.) YayaDUB thanked her for the water. Alden wiped off some sweat from YayaDUB’s forehead. Only to smell the same sweat he swiped off her forehead. All YayaDUB could say to Alden’s question is. “Hindi ako na-orient.” (I wasn’t oriented.) This was an obvious retort to Alden’s “Hindi ako na-orient” claim at the Sunday PinaSaya episode last 25 October 2015.
Alden then remembered handing the keys over to Lola Nidora. It was the set of keys that he found at the ALDUB Key To Forever by the dump. Lola Nidora was very thankful for the gesture. Donya Tidora noticed how YayaDUB can’t look straight to Alden’s face. She then egged her to look at Alden. “Tingnan mo si Alden. Ba’t sa iba ka nakatingin?” (Look at Alden. How come you’re looking elsewhere?) YayaDUB tried to talk. “Nagulat po kasi ako eh. Di ako na-orient.” (I was startled. I wasn’t oriented.)
Alden asked YayaDUB. “Hindi ka rin na-orient?” (You weren’t oriented too?) Donya Tinidora reminded them to stay on the script.“Hoy! Aktingan muna! Wag kayong magpersonal ditong dalawa! Me sinusundan tayo o!” (Hey! Act your roles first! Don’t go personal you two! We have a script to abide by.) Before YayaDUB could at least answer in their ALDUB 15th Weeksary. Alden commented. “Ikaw kasi nung Sunday eh.” (You started it last Sunday.)
Allan K asked for another eye contact between YayaDUB and Alden. YayaDUB slightly.agreed for the sake of the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. “Isa lang po ha?” (Just one, okay?) And she stared at Alden. Alden complained a little though. “Ang bilis naman!” (That was quick!) So YayaDUB tried staring longer into Alden’s eyes. Later, both of them felt awkward. Alden almost got the goblets tumbled on the table. Allan K observed the almost awkward staredown too. “Hindi sila makatingin ng derecho. Nagme-make face sila.” (They can’t look straight. They’re making faces.)
YayaDUB greeted Alden again. “Happy weeksary. 15 weeks na tayo.” (We’re already at 15 weeks.) Alden added. “And counting.” Since Donya Tinidora came a little later into the KalyeSerye, she asked what weeksary is celebrated in the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. “Ano ba yang sine-celebrate nyong weeksary? Mag-on na kayo? Nalilito ako.” (What is that weeksary that you’re celebrating? You’ve become a couple? I am confused.) Lola Nidora answered no. Donya Tidora answered. “15 weeks na silang magkakilala.” (They know each other for 15 weeks now.)
Lola Nidora chastised Alden for the prank at the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. “Ikaw, nagbibiro ka pa kanina. Akala ko yung riding in tanders. Wag kang nagjo-joke ng ganyan. May sakit ang lola.” (You and your pranks awhile ago. I thought it’s the old riding in tandem. Don’t make a joke out of it. Granny is sick.) Alden apologized. “Opo. Pasensiya na po.” (Yes. I’m sorry.) Lola Nidora emphasized the importance of the house keys found. “Kasi alam nyo ang susi na ito? Ito ang makapagbubukas ng bahay ni Lola.” (You know these keys? These will open Granny’s house.) Everyone danced in joy.
Everyone except Lola Nidora. “Bakit kayo sayaw nang sayaw?” (Why do you keep on dancing?) YayaDUB and Alden replied. “Masaya po kami.” (We are happy.) Lola Nidora wasn’t angry but worried. “Masaya? Hindi pa kasi tayo dapat nagsasaya. Kasi nasa atin na ang susi. Hindi natin alam kung nasaan ang bahay ni Lola.” (Happy? We should not be happy yet. Because we have the key. But we don’t know where is Granny’s house.) Donya Tidora spotted how many sticks of “isaw” Alden has eaten in the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. Alden just replied. “Gutom po ako eh.” (I am hungry.) Donya Tidora then asked for a DUBsmash combo from Alden and YayaDUB.
YayaDUB and Alden then dished out 3 of the most requested DUBsmash hits. The angry Malaysian clip. The Busta Rhymes clip. And the pabebe girls’ clips. Later, YayaDUB was shown pinching Alden. Once they turned around, they saw Lola Nidora and Donya Tinidora feasting on the food for the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. (Next time, Alden, give the grannies their space. Or you’ll lose your shared space with Maine to them.)
Donya Tidora was quick to remind her sisters. “Hoy, mga ate! Date nila ngayon. Weeksary nila.” (Hey, elder sisters! It’s their date. It’s their weeksary.) Lola Nidora justified herself. “Eh makikain na rin tayo.” (Then let’s dine with them.) Boss Joey had to comment about the ALDUB 15th Weeksary mini-banquet too. “Kaya pala pinababayaan nyo yung dalawa.” (No wonder they just let the couple be.) Senator Tito even saw which food the grannies almost ate up. “Muntik nyo nang ubusin yung swahe eh.” (You ate almost all of the prawns.)
After the Sugod Bahay errand, the grannies found YayaDUB and Alden pointing to the sky. It was as if they were star-gazing (at high noon). Donya Tinidora found it more like a scene from a moviehouse. With the grannies back. Donya Tidora asked the ALDUB couple on the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. “Dahil 15th weeksary ninyong dalawa, may message ba kayo sa isa’t isa?” (Because it’s your weeksary, do you have a message for each other?) YayaDUB and Alden played rock-paper-scissors first to see who goes first.
Alden won and he chose to speak first at the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. “Maine, Happy 15th Weeksary. Sana magtuloy-tuloy na to sa forever.” (I hope this would go continuously until forever.) YayaDUB could only reply. “Shy type po ako eh.” (I am the shy type.) YayaDUB tried to say her piece. But she got a little distracted with Lola Nidora laughing too hard away from the camera.
YayaDUB tried to compose herself as she greeted Alden back. “Happy 15th Weeksary. Thank you sa surprise ha? Na-surprise talaga ako. Sana magtuloy-tuloy na to.” (Thanks for the surprise. I really got surprised. I hope this would go continuously until forever.) Donya Tinidora snapped at YayaDUB. “Ginaya mo lang eh.” (You only copied what he said.) YayaDUB insisted that it’s true. “Hindi. Totoo naman kasi.” (No. It’s true anyway.) Donya Tinidora pressed for more. “Yung galing talaga sa yo.” (A message that really came from you.) YayaDUB was persistent. “Hindi. Totoo yun.” (No. It’s true.) Lola Nidora chimed in to get YayaDUB talking from the heart for the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. “Yung galing talaga sa yo. Mula sa puso mo.” (A message that’s really from you. From your heart.)
The pressure was too much. YayaDUB ended up blurting out a line from the Pabebe Girls. “Tama na yan!” (Enough of that!) Donya Tinidora was persistent as well. “Yung totoo. Yung totoo talaga. Hindi yung ngayon lang.” (The truth. Really the truth. Not one you just pulled off today.) With all grannies (and KalyeSerye commentators) prodding YayaDUB, she spoke again. “Alden, thank you sa surprise. Sobrang nagulat ako na nandito ka. Happy ako. Sana magtagal pa ang ALDUB. Magtagal pa tayo.” (Alden, thanks for the surprise. I was so surprised that you’re here. I am happy. I hope ALDUB lasts longer. I hope we last longer.)
Boss Joey prodded Alden to answer. Alden held out his pinkie finger for the pinkie swear and said “Promise”. And so together they made the leveled up pinkie swear to heart for the ALDUB 15th Weeksary. With this. Donya Tinidora threw the tough question. “Paano dumating ang pagkakataon isa sa inyo magbabago? Papaano nyo aayusin yan?” (What if one of you changes? How will you fix that?) Alden was proactive. “Siguro po walang magbabago sa amin.” (I don’t think anything will change between us.) Donya Tinidora wasn’t satisfied with his answer. It pushed Boss Joey to coach Alden. “Ang magbabago lang sa yo, apelido mo.” (The only thing that will change is your last name.)
YayaDUB quipped. “Apelido ko po yata magbabago.” (I think my last name will change.) Alden though stuck to his answer.“Siguro po lahat magbabago. Pero kami hindi.” (I think everything will change. But not us.) With this. Boss Joey shifted his attention to YayaDUB in the ALDUB 15th Weeksary episode. He addressed her as Maine. “Kung magbabago ang apelido mo, anong gusto mo?” (If your last name will change, what would you like?) Senator Tito even made her choose. “Mamili ka. Richards o Faulkerson?” (Pick one. Richards or Faulkerson?) YayaDUB replied. “Kung ano po ang mas bagay. Siempre yung totoo.” (Whichever fitted me better. Of course, the real one would do.)
The ALDUB 15th Weeksary was overall a feel-episode. It was also a nice clarification to the kind of relationship that Alden and YayaDUB had so far. So Donya Tinidora’s role as the person with all the questions served as a tool for everyone who caught on the ALDUB fever late.
