ALDUB The Search is Over: The Nanny Contenders

Everyone awaited the result at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. But before seeing the results, Donya Tinidora had her workout session. Ruby liked what she saw. “May pa-Zumba.” (A Zumba session.) She is joined in the KalyeSerye commentary panel by Allan K a.k.a. “Miss A” and Ryan Agoncillo.

Donya Tinidora was kinda bored halfway into her Zumba session at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Wala namang ka-thrill-thrill ‘to.” (This isn’t so thrilling.) It didn’t stop her commentary though. “Very good naman yung instructor natin. Okay ito ha? Naku. Nasasanay na ang katawan ko sa exercise. Importante ito sa mga da-matan niyan. Nakita nyo? Kahit may edad na ko, sexy pa rin. At may Madam Auring.” (Our instruction is very good at what she does. Oh my! My body will be accustomed to exercise. It’s very important for us elders. See? Even if I’m old, I’m still sexy. And I still got some Madam Auring.)

Allan K got the contemporary pop culture reference that Donya Tinidora referred to. “May asim.” [In local slang, “may asim” was a phrase popularized by psychic Madam Auring. It was a reference to how despite her age, she still attracts men half her age in a sexual way.] Donya Tinidora liked it that Allan K immediately understood her at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Korekek.” (Correct.)

Ruby chose a more positive term. “Alam mo na. Fresh.” Donya Tinidora then asked her Zumba instructor. “I need a break.” The instructors stopped along with Donya Tinidora’s backup dancers at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. Ruby flattered Donya Tinidora further. “Lola, sa lahat naman ng nagsu-Zumba, ikaw ang fresh.” (Of all Zumba enthusiasts, you’re the one who’s fresh.) Donya Tinidora asked Ruby to STAHP. “Alam mo, huy!”

Ruby flattered Donya Tinidora even further at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Ang fresh na fresh mo!” (You look so fresh!) Allan K fueled the flattery even. “Ang amo ng mukha.” (Her face is so tame.) Ruby added. “Bibidahin oh!” (Lead star material!) Allan K mentioned which kind of lead star. “Yung parang sinasampal ng mga kontrabida.” (The lead star often slapped around by the villains.) Donya Tinidora was slightly taken aback. “Hoy! Iba yun!” (Not that kind!)

Alden appeared on the other monitor with a ukulele while DUBsmashing. Donya Tinidora acknowledged his presence. “Alden.” Alden was quick to ask. “Hello, lola. Lola, bakit po kayo nage-exercise?” (Why are you exercising?) Donya Tinidora had to refresh Alden’s memory at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Siempre. Importante yan. Hindi porke matanda ka na, magpapahinga ka. Ehersisyo. Kailangan ng serbisyo para sa bayan.” (Of course. It’s important. Not because you’re old, you’d just rest. Exercise. It’s needed for serving the nation.)

Alden found Donya Tinidora’s sarcasm funny. “Community service. Kumusta po kayo, lola?” (How are you, granny?) Donya Tinidora replied. “Okay naman. Napaaga ka ata ng labas, Alden.” (I’m okay. You were out early.) Alden realized it too. “Opo.” (Yes.) Donya Tinidora was quick to notice Alden’s cheerful facade. “Parang ang saya saya mo ha?” (You seem enthusiastic.) Alden implied the reason behind his delight at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Magkasama kami kahapon eh.” (We were together yesterday.)

Donya Tinidora knew which event Alden referred to at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Oo nga. Magkasama kayo kahapon.” (Yes. You were together yesterday.) Alden mentioned something that non-viewers of Sunday PinaSaya might not relate to. “May kasama po kaming lolo.” (We were with a grandpa yesterday.) Of course, Donya Tinidora knew that. “Napanood ko yun. Ang guapo ng lolo mo. Kamukha mo yung lolo mo.” (I saw that. You’re grandpa is handsome. You look like your grandpa.)

Alden agreed. “Opo.” (Yes.) Donya Tinidora pushed the topic further. “Ano? Gusto mo pa bang tumanda?” (Do you still want to grow old?) Alden laughed before trying to stay within topic at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Sana nga po nakilala nyo, lola. Kasi single si Lolo Erning eh.” (I hope you met him, granny. Grandpa Erning is single.)

Donya Tinidora verified if she heard Alden right. “Yung lolo mo, single pa?” (Your grandpa is still single?) Alden confirmed it. “Opo.” (Yes.) Donya Tinidora didn’t bat an eyelash. “Ah, pabayaan mo siyang tumandang binata.” (Let him grow old and single.) Allan K reacted “Huy!” Donya Tinidora remembered that Jose Manalo’s temporary alter ego is a character in a marketing promotion for Magnolia Ice Cream. “Pero yang si Lolo Erning. Alam mo, pihikan yan.” (But your Grandpa Erning. He’s a choosy guy.)

Alden acted like Lolo Erning was a real person. “Nag-meet po kayo?” (You’ve met?) Donya Tinidora revealed what she knew. “Nanligaw sa ‘kin yan.” (He pursued me.) It was Allan K’s turn to react at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Talaga?” (Really?) Donya Tinidora justified what she earlier knew. “Kaya nga pihikan. Hindi basta-basta namimili ng kung sinu-sino yan. Mapili talaga yan. Kaya lang hindi siya pumasa sa akin.” (That’s why he’s choosy. He doesn’t pick just anyone. He’s selective. No wonder he never made it to my shortlist.)

Allan K can’t help but ask Donya Tinidora. “Choosy ka, lola? Choosy?” Donya Tinidora replied. “Oo.” (Yes.) Alden then sensed something. “Pero alam mo, lola. May nararamdaman ako eh. Parang malapit na.” (But you know, granny. I can feel something. It’s getting closer.) Donya Tinidora interpreted it as something else at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Alden, mag-CR ka.” (Go to the toilet room.)

Alden insisted that it’s something else. “Hindi po, lola. Parang ….” (No, granny. It’s like ….) Donya Tinidora’s poker face was on in this part of ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Anong malapit na?” (What’s near?) Alden continued. “Parang eto na yung … Lalabas na yung taong tinitibok ng puso ko, lola. Lola, sandali lang.” (It’s as if … The one my heart beats for is coming, granny. Just a little bit more.)

Donya Tinidora gave the same tip [that she’s usually give to Divina] to Alden. “Bumilang kang tatlo, Alden. Lalabas yun.” (Count one to three. She’s come out.) In a short while, Divina appeared while dancing to Rihanna’s “Work”. Allan K was impressed with Divina’s low dancing skills. “Ang baba oh!” (That was low.) Alden saw how Divina got too low at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Huy! Madumi diyan!” (That’s dirty!)

Divina remembered her thorough cleaning skills at the ALDUB Yaya Who episode with that song. “Lola. Kasi talagang napapalinis na ako. Automatic na yun kapag naririnig ko yung work.” (Granny. I really end up cleaning. I go into auto-pilot every time I hear the song Work.) Donya Tinidora was amazed at how talented her grand-niece is. “Apo, lahat ng double, ginagawa mo na. Yaya. Kwek kwek.” (Dear, you’ve done all doubles [that I know of]. You’re a nanny. And you’re a quail egg.)

Divina corrected Donya Tinidora.“Work work po. Pati work work po. Hi, Alden.” (It’s work work. And I work double too. Hi, Alden.) Alden greeted Divina back at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Hi, Divina. Happy ka?” (Are you happy?) Divina happily replied. “Ay! Oo naman. Ano ka ba? Alam mo yan.” (Of course. What have you been thinking? You know that.)

Donya Tinidora spotted Divina’s shirt at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Kaya nga nakadilaw o. Happy.” (No wonder she’s wearing yellow.) Divina agreed. “Happy thoughts.” Alden had to ask Divina. “At saka saan ka ba galing? Ba’t ngayon ka lang?” (Where have you been? How come you arrived just now?) Divina implied that she’s not late. “Hindi. Hinatid ko lola ko. Si Lola Nidora.” (No. I went with Granny Nidora.)

Alden asked. “Nasaan?” (Where?) Divina elaborated on her reply earlier at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Hinatid ko nga. Ikaw naman. Magkasama na tayo kahapon. Parang hinahanap mo ko agad. Hinatid ko lang si Lola sa airport.” (I went with her. Come on, you. We’re together yesterday. You’re looking for me again. I took granny to the airport.) Donya Tinidora then remembered Lola Nidora’s destination.“Sa Bicol nga pala.” (She went to Bicol.)

Divina ended up explaining to Donya Tinidora. “Opo. Excited na excited nga po si Lola kaninang umaga. Kaya ang aga rin po namin nakarating sa airport.” (Yes. Granny was exhilarated this morning. So we ended up going early to the airport.) Donya Tinidora was relieved. “Mabuti naman.” (Well and good.) Divina caught Alden staring at her. “Ano, Alden?” (What?) Alden asked back at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Ano?” (What?)

Divina just tried to initiate small talk with Alden. “Ayun nga. Sabi nga ni attorney, me mga kailangan siyang asikasuhin sa Bicol. Yung mga tanim na sili.” (So there. The attorney said that she had to handle the farm at Bicol. The chili farm.) Alden asked. “Kelan babalik si Lola?” (When would granny be back?) Donya Tinidora didn’t think it would take long. “Nung isang araw pa yun. Tamang-tama na rin yan. Magagapas na rin yung mga ano.” (In a few days. And it would be good. So that the harvest would be collected.)

Alden then relived his time with Maine at Sunday PinaSaya. “Nabusog ka naman kahapon?” (You had your fill?) Divina replied. “Oo naman. Sa ice cream ha?” (Of course. With ice cream, mind you.) Allan K realized at ALDUB The Search is Over episode that Alden and Maine are stuck in their own world. Again. “Alam mo, may mga usapan na sila-sila lang ang nakakaalam.” (You have conversations that only you understand.)

Ruby noticed it too. “Oo nga. Bakit ganun?” (Yeah. Why is that?) Allan K would like to join in. “Isali nyo naman kami. Huy!” (Join us in your chat.) Alden implied a promise to Allan K. “Pag may time na lang po, Miss A.” (Once we get the time, Miss A.) Ruby didn’t understand much of the ice cream banter at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Kayo lang ang nagkakaintindihan.” (You understand only each other.)

Donya Tinidora shushed the KalyeSerye commentary panel at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Bayaan nyo na yung mga bata. May edad na kayo eh.” (Let the kids be. You’re old.) Alden had to switch topics for eveyone’s sake. “Kamusta na nga pala yung mga yaya? Yung apat na yayang naglalaban-laban?” (How are the nannies? The contenders?) Divina tried to roll call them shortly. “Ah, yung mga yaya? Alam ko nga nandito eh. Teka lang ha? Sunduin ko. Teka lang. Yaya Glo. Yaya In. Yaya Pak. Yaya Git.” (The nannies. I know they’re here. Wait. I’ll fetch them.)

They were having coffee at a nearby table. Divina ended up joining them instead with Donya Tinidora. “Kumusta?” (How are you?) Alden picked on Yaya Git again. “Yaya Git. Raise the roof.” Yaya In still felt tired after the ALDUB 3rd EB Awards episode. “Eto. Pagod na pagod kami dun sa racing.” (Here. We’re tired from the challenge.) Yaya Git felt otherwise at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Ako. Hindi ako napagod. Nagutom lang ako.” (Me. I wasn’t tired. Just hungry.)

Divina asked them. “Kanina pa ba kayo dito?” (Have you been here since awhile ago?) Yaya Pak somewhat fumbled in her answer. “Kanina pa po. Actually nung Sabado pa kami dito, Yaya Dub.” (Yes. Well, actually we’ve been here since last Saturday [ALDUB 3rd EB Awards episode].) Yaya In echoed Yaya Pak’s claim. “Hindi na kami umalis.” (We haven’t left.) Alden asked them too. “Hindi pa kayo umuuwi?” (You haven’t gotten home?) Divina relayed their answer. “Hindi pa daw.” (No they haven’t.)

Alden teased Yaya Git again. “Yaya Git, raise the roof.” Yaya In even tried to demonstrate how Yaya Git should do it. “Hello. Ganyan.” (There.) Alden saw how defiant Yaya Git is. “Ayaw talaga eh.” (She really won’t do it.) Ruby then made a request to Divina at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Divina, pakilala mo raw si Miss A sa mga yaya.” (Please introduce the nanny contenders to Miss A.)

Divina did as she was asked. “Miss A, eto nga po pala yung mga yaya na nag-apply po. Si Yaya In.” (Here are the applicants for the nanny position. Here is Yaya In.) Donya Tinidora added some instructions for Divina at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Ipaliwanag mo bakit Yaya In.” (Explain why Yaya In.) Divina then prodded them the contenders to speak too. “Magpakilala kayo dali. Isa-isa.” (Introduce yourselves. One by one.)

Yaya In followed instructions.“Ako po si Yaya In. Yaya In. Yaya In ang itawag sa akin. Yaya In kahit saan. Kit Marikit. Kahit saan sumasabit. Hello po, Miss A.” (I am Yaya In. Yaya In as they call me. Invite me everywhere. Full name is Kit Marikit. I hang around anywhere. Hello, Miss A.) Allan K greeted her back. “Hello, Yaya In.” Divina then turned to Yaya Glo. “Si Yaya Glo naman. Pakilala ka dali.” (Yaya Glo’s turn. Introduce yourself quick.)

Yaya Glo was a little starstruck at ALDUB The Search is Over episode.. “Hi. Hi. You know what? You’re my idol.” Allan K laughed but didn’t believe her. “Echusera.” (Stop pulling my leg.) Yaya Glo’s broken English is still there thoughl “I’m Yaya Glo. Short for Yaya Glota. And you know what? I’m confidently beautiful in my own. And remember. I am a simple girl. With a simple dream.”

Donya Tinidora introduced the nanny contender beside her. “Eto naman si Yaya Pak.” (This is Yaya Pak.) Yaya Pak praised Allan K first at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Hi po, Miss A. Ang ganda ganda nyo po pala sa personal. Ako nga po pala si Yaya Pak dahil ako po ay laging nakayapak. Nakasuot po ngayon ng polka dots. Pero ang balat, polka dirt.” (You look beautiful in person. I am Yaya Pak because I am always barefoot. I wear a polka dot dress. But my skin has a polka dirt tone.)

Allan K then spotted the last nanny contender. “Yung isa.” (The other one.) Donya Tinidora pointed the last contender. “Eto na nga. Si Yaya Git.” (Here she is. Yaya Git.) Yaya Git greeted Allan K first at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Hi, Miss A. Ang ganda nyo po pala sa TV.” (You look beautiful on TV.) Allan K was skeptical. “Sa TV lang? Hindi sa personal?” (Just on TV? Not in person?) Yaya Git was half-sarcastic. “Sa personal, magkamukha po tayo.” (In person, we look alike.)

Yaya In ended up butting in again at ALDUB The Search is Over episode.“Gusto nyo po ba yun?” (Would you want that?) Yaya Git ignored Yaya In and continued in introducing herself. “Ako po pala si Yaya Git. Ang may misteryosong armpit.” (I am Yaya Git. The one with the mysterious armpit.) Alden asked Yaya Git again to show her armpits. “Pakita na kasi.” (Just show them.)

Yaya Git raised her hands. But she kept her elbows down. Allan K demonstrated how Yaya Git should raise them at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Taas. Taas.” (Up. Up.) Divina asked Yaya Git too. “Isang sulyap lang.” (Just one peek.) Yaya Git quickly raised her hands. “Argh!” Then lowered them again. Still, her elbows were down. Ruby tried if Yaya Git would grant her request. “Pasilip lang.” (Just a peep.)

Donya Tinidora relayed the nannies’ claim. “Hindi sila umuwi. Kaya hanggang ngayon, andito ang mga ito. Kailangan po natin.” (They didn’t go home. So until now, they are here. We really need [a nanny].) Yaya In spoke again. “Hindi po kami umuwi. Kasi siempre baka maunahan kami. Baka mag-announce ng winner. Wala ako. Tapos kailangan nandito kami. Para kapag nag-announce ng winner lahat kami, makakaalam.” (We didn’t go home. Because we might get beat to it. They might announce the winner. Without me. Then we have to stay here. So that once they announce the winner, we all know.)

Donya Tinidora had to shush Yaya In. “Sssst. Sssst. Hoy! Daldal na naman.” (You’re being too talkative again.) Yaya Glo just tried to continue where Yaya In got interrupted at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Yes. Yes. We are here because you know. Maybe you know. That’s why we’re here to wait for the … For the …. To call the announce.” Donya Tinidora sensed how Yaya Glo struggled to speak in English again. “To call?” Yaya Glo “So we’re here.”

Yaya Pak ended up squealing about Yaya Git. “Eto po si Yaya Git. Tinuloy niya yung pagkain niya. Naku. Kayo. Masyado kayo ha? Busog po siya ngayon. Are you hungry still?” (Here is Yaya Git. She continued with her meal. On my. You. You’re harsh. She’s full. Are you hungry still?) Yaya Git replied. “Yes. At mamaya may eat-all-you-can pa daw doon.” (And there’s an eat-all-you-can promo nearby.)

Yaya Pak was appalled at Yaya Git’s gluttony at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Sobra naman siya.” (She’s too much.) Yaya In butted in again. “Alam mo kaagad pag pagkain.” (You’re quick to know as long as it’s food.) Donya Tinidora openly admired the nanny contenders. “Alam mo, hangang-hanga ako sa mga katatagan ng mga yaya na to ha?” (I admire the resilience of these nannies.) Divina agreed. “Oo nga po. Ni isa sa kanila. Walang sumusuko.” (Yes. Not one of them quit.)

Donya Tinidora’s words boosted the nanny contenders’ morale at ALDUB The Search is Over episode.“Pursigido. Walang sumusuko. Pursigido sila. Kahit anong mangyari. Final test natin. Eto na ang mangyayari ngayon ha? Yung mga pinagdaanan ninyong physical, mga mental challenges noong Sabado. Nakayanan nyo lahat ito. Ang gagaling ninyo. Palakpakan natin ang mga batang ito.”

(Relentless. Nobody surrendered. They pushed through. No matter what happened. And this is our final test. This is what happens today, okay? The physical and mental challenges that you went through last Saturday [ALDUB 3rd EB Awards episode]. You endured them all. You were great. Please clap for these kids.)

All the nanny contenders were thankful. “Salamat po. Salamat po.” (Thank you. Thank you.) Donya Tinidora gave them a little idea for the next challenge at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Kaya napag-isipan namin nina Yaya at saka ni Ate. Gagawin natin ngayon yung … Ano kaya?” (So we of [Divina] and elder sister thought about it. We’d do today the … What could it be?)

Donya Tinidora’s speech emphasized the crucial moment at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Kinonsulta ko na ito kay ate ha? Sinabi ko na kay ate. At alam niya kung ano ang mangyayari ngayon ha? Eto na. Dahil sa may edad na kami, mahina na ang katawan namin. Kelangan na namin ng makakasama sa mansion. Bukod sa matalino, maliksi, magaling, malakas din. Eto na. Eto na ang sasabihin ko sa inyo. And we’ll see if you can endure it.)

Yaya Pak had to ask Donya Tinidora. “Anong pagsubok po, lola?” (What challenge, granny?) Donya Tinidora finally went straight to the point at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Bunong-braso.” (Arm wrestling.) Yaya Git got overconfident again. “Lamang ako diyan. Kayang kaya ko yan.” (I have an advantage. I can do it.) Yaya In wasn’t that sold in the idea. “Pano yun?” (How?)

Donya Tinidora clarified this round. “Ang mananalo, siya ang papasok at kukunin naming magiging bagong yaya sa mansion.” (The winner will be taken in and accepted as the new nanny of the mansion.) Alden asked .“Eh, lola, sinong kalaban?” (Granny, against whom?) Donya Tinidora looked for the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio. Or some other contender that she may have hired. But then she had to decide. “Ako na lang. Ako na lang.” (Against me. Just me.)

Yaya In sounded skeptical. “Ikaw, lola?” (You, granny?) Donya Tinidora seemed resigned to her fate at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Eh walang makakalaban eh.” (There aren’t any challengers.) Ruby sounded surprised. “Ikaw lalaban, ‘la?” (You’re fighting them, granny?) Yaya Git seemed concerned. “Lola, nakakahiya. Nirerespeto kita. Ginagalang kita ha?” (Granny, it’s embarrassing. I respect you. I honor you, okay?)

Divina herself sounded concerned. “Hindi, lola. Kaya nyo pa po ba? Kasi malalakas po sila.” (No, granny. Can you still do it? Because they’re strong.) Yaya Pak added. “Saka may edad na po kayo, lola.” (And you’re old, granny.) Donya Tinidora had 2 words for them. “Zumba. Ehersisyo.” (Exercise.) It quickly changed Divina’s mind at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Tama. Zumba. Malakas pa si lola.” (Correct. Zumba. Granny is still strong.)

Donya Tinidora rephrased what she earlier said at ALDUB The Search is Over. “Pinag-isipan namin yan ha? Alam ko na ang paraan. Wala nang aatras. May panahon pa kayo. Gusto nyo nang umayaw?” (We’ve thought it over. I know the way. Nobody backs out. But you still have time? Who wants to back out?) Yaya In instantly replied. “Hindi pa. Kayang kaya.” (No. I can do it.) Yaya Pak shared the same sentiment. “Hindi. Lalaban po kami.” (No. We’ll fight.) Yaya Git all the more got confident. “Hindi kami aayaw.” (We won’t quit.)

Alden just watched where he sat. “Sigurado ba kayo diyan, lola? I’m just worried.” (Are you sure about that, granny?) Donya Tinidora explained in a way that can convince Alden at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Kaya ko to, Alden. Parang 365 years old lang ako. Ano ba naman? Alangan namang si Divina ang isalang ko dito. Gusto mo si Divina ang lalaban?” (I can do this, Alden. I just feel 365 years old anyway. And what gives? Rather than let Divina take over. You want Divina to fight?)

That changed Alden’s mind at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Lola, please po. Wag na.” (Granny, no. Please.) Donya Tinidora didn’t find it too hard anyway. “Ako na lang. Kaya ko ‘to. Para di sila masyadong mahirapan.” (I’ll do it instead. I can do it. So that they won’t find it that hard.) Divina asked the nanny contenders. “Handa na ba kayo?” (Are you ready?) Without waiting for the contenders to reply. Donya Tinidora asked. “Sino gustong mauna?” (Who wants to go first?)

Yaya In raised her hand. “Ako! Ako! Ako!” (Me! Me! Me!) Divina called Yaya In. “Ikaw mauna. Sige.” (You go first. Go ahead.) Donya Tinidora asked to clear the table. “Tabi muna natin itong Nescafe ha?” (Let’s set aside these Nescafe mugs, okay?) The contenders picked up their respective mugs as Donya Tinidora asked of them. Yaya In was more nervous for Donya Tinidora than for herself at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Lola, parang ang hirap mo naman po talunin eh. Ma-muscle ka po eh.” (Granny, you seem hard to defeat. You have muscles.)

Donya Tinidora knew Yaya In was referring to Jose Manalo’s muscles. “Hoy! Wala akong muscle. May edad na ko oh. Eh ikaw nga yung muscle mo, bagong gawa na naman.” (I don’t have muscles. I’m old. Yaya In heard her. “Puede po bang yun na lang ang gamitin?” (Can I use them instead?) Donya Tinidora switched back to her granny old self at ALDUB The Search is over episode. “Matanda na ko. Subukan mo kay Jose yan.” (I’m old. Try that ploy with Jose.)

Divina served as the referee in ALDUB The Search is Over episode.. “3, 2, 1, go!” The difficulty of the arm wrestling challenge did not shut up Yaya In. “Pag naggaganito ako, hirap na hirap talaga ako. Lalo na kung si Lola. Parang effortless. Ang hirap-hirap naman nito. Lola, please naman. Wag nyo naman masyadong galingan. Ang hirap hirap po.” (Whenever I do this, I’m really having difficulty. Especially with granny. It seemed effortless. This is so tough. Granny, please. Don’t be too good. It’s so hard.)

Allan K saw how Donya Tinidora smiled throughout Yaya In’s blabber. “Pinapaypayan ka lang ni Lola oh!” (Granny is just fanning at you.) Yaya In was down in more or less a minute. Divina was impressed. “Okay. Okay. Grabe, lola. Ang lakas pa rin nyo po talaga. Sori, okay lang yan.” (Damn, granny. You’re still strong. [Facing Yaya In.] I’m sorry. It will be okay.)

Yaya In sadly faced Divina. “Divina.” Divina comforted her. “Okay lang yan. Ginawa mo naman ang makakaya mo eh.” (It will be okay. You did what you can.) Donya Tinidora spoke. “Kelangan namin talagang malakas. Pasensiya ka na.” (We need someone strong. I hope you understand.) Divina prodded Yaya In at ALDUB The Search is Over. “Sige na. Bigay ka na ng farewell speech mo.” (Go ahead. Deliver your farewell speech.)

Yaya In was against the idea. “Farewell speech agad?” (So soon?) Divina rephrased what she said at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Yan yung huli eh.” (It’s the last one.) Yaya In can’t even accept it. “Sa dami ng pinagdaanan namin, yun lang yun? Farewell speech na agad?” (Of all the things that we’ve went through, that’s it? A farewell speech so soon?)

Donya Tinidora explained. “Dun nasusubok ang lakas at talino. Kasi ang bunong-braso, kala nyo puro lakas yan? Ginagamitan ng utak yan.” (That is where your strength and intelligence are put to the test. You think arm wrestling is all about strength? It comes with using your brain.) Yaya In protested. “E di po sana, utak ang pinang-bunong-braso natin.” (We should have used our brains in arm wrestling.)

Donya Tinidora pointed out what she meant at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Kaya nga ganun ang ginagawa ko. Pinapaypayan kita. Para mahilo ka. Talo ka di ba?” (That’s what I did. I fanned at you. So that you will get dizzy. You lost, right?) Divina was still diplomatic despite Yaya In’s outburst at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Sige na. Bigay ka na ng farewell speech.” (Go ahead. Give us your farewell speech.)

Yaya In had a rough start in her speech. “Maraming salamat po sa opportunity. Pero talaga pong ano eh.” (Thank you very much for opportunity. But I really did …) Donya Tinidora broke the fourth wall again. “Biro mo, lumagari ka pa. From Tanay.” (Imagine, you came all the way from Tanay. [Tanay was a town far south of Manila as implied in ALDUB The Search is Over episode.])

Yaya In tried to restart her speech. “Eto na nga. Maraming salamat po. Pero hindi po talaga ako mapapagod na mag-apply. Kung saan po talaga kailangang kailangan ko ng trabaho. Hindi po talaga ako titigil.” (Here I go. Thank you very much. But I really won’t get tired of applying.) Divina had to stop her before she runs off course talking at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Thank you. Thank you.”

Donya Tinidora seconded Divina’s quip. “Okay na. Okay na. Okay na. Sino nang susunod. Sino nang gustong sumunod?” (We’re okay. We’re okay. Who’d like to be next? Who wanted to be next?) Yaya Glo raised her hand. “Grandma. Grandma.” Donya Tinidora called Yaya Glo for the next round at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Ikaw na? Pambihira. Bagong gawa din ito ha?” (Your turn? Damn it. She had some repairs done too.)

Divina braced Yaya Glo for the worst. “Handa ka na ba talaga diyan? Sigurado ka na ba?” (Are you really ready? Are you sure about this?) Yaya Glo was scared but motivated. “Yes. Grandma, I respect you a lot. But I need this for the opportunity.” Donya Tinidora nonchalantly replied. “Me too.” Divina set their hands for the arm wrestling round at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “For the opportunity, okay. 3, 2, 1, go!”

Yaya Glo was down in a second. It shocked Yaya In. “Ay! Talo agad!” (She lost so quickly.) Alden was perplexed too. “Di man lang pinahinga eh.” (She didn’t even flinch.) Divina found the match too quick. “Lola, grabe naman kayo.” (Granny, that was too much.) For the first time in ALDUB The Search is Over episode, Ryan reacted. “Ganun-ganun lang yun?” (Just like that?) Allan K felt bad for Yaya Glo. “Lola, di mo man lang binigyan ng pagkakataong makabuwelo?” (Granny, you didn’t even let her gain momentum?)

Donya Tinidora feigned innocence. “Tapos na ba?” (Is it over?) Ruby tried to suppress her laughter. “Parang pinitik lang eh.” (It’s as if you just flickered at her.) Divina had to ask Yaya Glo. “Anong nangyari, Yaya Glo?” (What happened, Yaya Glo?) Yaya Glo was so heartbroken. She teared up at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Because I did my best in the last. So I lost my strong today.”

Donya Tinidora felt bad for Yaya Glo.“Bigyan pa kita ng isang pagkakataon.” (I’d give you another chance.) Divina tried to cheer up Yaya Glo at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Isa pang pagkakataon. Ayan ha?” (Another chance, okay?) Ryan sympathized with Yaya Glo. “Baka nabigla lang.” (She might just got taken aback.) Alden felt more like bullying Yaya Glo. “Iyakin naman pala itong si Yaya Glo.” (Yaya Glo is a cry baby.)

Divina kept comforting Yaya Glo. “Wag ka nang umiyak.” (Stop crying.) Yaya Glo had to regain her composure after Donya Tinidora gave her another chance at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. Divina then set the hands for Yaya Glo’s second chance. Ryan then signaled Divina to count. “Bilangan mo. Bilangan mo.” (Start counting. Start counting.) Divina did as she was told. “3, 2, 1, go!”

Yaya Pak cheered at her competitor. “Go, Yaya Glo.” It somewhat boosted Yaya Glo’s confidence. Divina saw the renewed strength at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Aba! Lumalaban! Lumalaban!” (She’s fighting! She’s fighting!) Yaya Glo motivated herself too with self-talk “For my grandma. Please. For the maintenance. Please.” Unfortunately, she still lost in less than a minute.

Allan K seemed resigned to the results. “Wala. Talo talaga eh.” (Nothing we can do. She really lost.) Donya Tinidora slightly mocked Yaya Glo’s tears at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Pero umiiyak talaga ha? Humahabol pa sa awards night. Luha talaga nakikita ko eh.” (But she really teared up, huh? She’d like to make up for the awards night. I really see tears.)

Allan K heard about the maintenance that Yaya Glo mentioned. Ruby had to repeat the question. “Yaya Glo, for what daw is the maintenance, sabi ni Miss A?” Yaya Glo again had difficulty describing which parts of her body needed maintaining. “For the maintenance of my body. For outer and inner. You know.” Donya Tinidora summed it up for Allan K at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Pang-gluta niya.” (For her glutathione supply.)

Divina prodded Yaya Glo for her farewell speech at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Sige na. Bigay ka na ng farewell speech.” (Go ahead. Deliver your farewell speech.) In between tears, Yaya Glo delivered her speech. “Grandma. Divina, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be with you. Sad to say that I cannot continue with the legend of my grandma, YayaMot. But this is life. But I must go on and move on. So for now. I’m a simple girl with a simple dream. So you better go. Thank you.”

Divina still thought of Yaya Glo fondly. “Simple girl ka pa din. Yaya Glo, ingat.” (You’re still a simple girl. Take care.) Donya Tinidora apologized once more. “Pasensiya na kayo. Wala tayong magagawa.” (My apologies. There’s nothing we can do.) Divina called out for the next contender at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Sino pong susunod?” (Who’s next?)

Yaya Git excused herself at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Nagwa-warm up lang.” (I’m still warming up.) Divina asked Yaya Git. “Nagwa-warm up pa?” (Still having a warm up?) Ruby saw Yaya Git shadow-boxing. “Naku, palaban ito.” (Oh, she’s a fighter.) Alden’s favorite seemed to be Yaya Git. “Aabangan ko yan, lola. Kayo nang bahala.” (I’d be looking forward to that, granny. I’ll leave it to you.)

Yaya Pak volunteered to be next. “Mag-warm up ka muna diyan, Yaya Git.” (Continue with your warm-up, Yaya Git.) Divina confirmed Yaya Pak as next. “Si Yaya Pak na yung susunod.” (Yaya Pak is next.) Donya Tinidora checked Yaya Pak first at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Ikaw? Ready ka na?” (You? Are you ready?)

Yaya In stared at Yaya Pak. “Parang nanghihina.” (She looked weakened.) Yaya Pak was in a contemplative mood prior to her match at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Kinakabahan po ako. Pero saglit lang po.” (I am nervous. But just a little bit.) Yaya Pak continued with her deep breathing exercises. Yaya In got curious. “What are you doing? What is that?”

Donya Tinidora saw something else with Yaya Pak. “Hoy! Magpagupit ka na ha? Mahaba na yung buhok mo sa ilong.” (Get a trim, okay? Your nose hair had gotten long.) Yaya Pak agreed halfway. “Sige po. Asset po yan.” (Okay. It’s my asset.) Donya Tinidora somewhat chided Yaya Pak. “Asset ha? Hindi asim. Ready ka na?” (Are you ready?) Yaya Pak finished her deep breathing exercises at ALDUB The Search is Over before replying. “Ready na po, lola.” (I am ready, granny.)

Donya Tinidora asked Yaya Pak to give the losing contenders advice. “Pagsabihan mo muna ‘tong mga ‘to. Para alam nila.” (You tell them. So that they may know.) At ALSUD The Search is Over episode. Yaya Pak was at her motor mouth self again. “Next time kasi kayo. Pag naga-apply kayo, siguraduhin nyo na kaya nyo. Hindi yung ang puputi ng balat ninyo. Tingnan nyo ko. Ang dumi. Kaya ang ganda sa TV oh!” (Whenever you’re applying, make sure that you can do it. Not that you’re so fair-complexion and all. Look at me. I look dirty. No wonder I look good on TV.)

Yaya In was a bit offended.“Wag ka namang ganyan.” (Don’t say that.) Yaya Pak snapped again at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Bakit naman kasi? Rawr!” (Why the hell?) Yaya Git saw Yaya Pak snap again. “Kanina ka pa nang-aaway.” (You’ve been picking fights since awhile ago.) She pretended to have a gun, made gun sounds and pretended to shoot Yaya Pak at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. Yaya Pak pretended to fall.

Donya Tinidora found them funny. “Binaril.” (She shot her.) Yaya Pak regained consciousness. “Kaya ko yan.” (I can do that.) Donya Tinidora asked Yaya Pak again at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Handa ka na ha?” (Are you ready?) Yaya Pak nodded. “Inhale. Exhale.” Divina got their hands secured and started the count-off. “Okay. In 3, 2, 1, go!”

Their hands shook. Yaya Pak wasn’t so easily swayed. Ruby found Yaya Pak durable. “Malakas ito.” (She’s strong.) Mind games took over this round at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. Yaya Pak scratched her nose bridge in the middle of arm wrestling. It grossed Donya Tinidora enough to be distracted. Soon, Yaya Pak defeated Donya Tinidora. “Talo.” (You lose.)

Donya Tinidora protested. “Puede ba yun? Sinundot sa ilong eh.” (Is that allowed? She picked her nose.) Divina was almost speechless. “Pero, lola.” Allan K interfered at this round in ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Sabi mo kasi gagamitan ng utak eh.” (You said she should use her brain.) Ruby saw how Donya Tinidora’s game plan backfired. “Ayan! Ginamitan ka ng trick tuloy, lola.” (You got tricked, granny.)

Ryan saw how Yaya Pak poked her nose while her hand is locked in arm wrestling with Donya Tinidora. “Derecho sa utak yun.” (It pointed straight to her brain.) Donya Tinidora was livid. “Ginanun sa ilong tapos hinawak sa kamay ko eh.” (She poked her nose then held my hand.) Yaya Pak didn’t think it was a big deal. “Lilinisin ko din naman after.” (I’ll clean it afterwards.)

Yaya In commented again. “Talo ka, lola.” (You lost, granny.) Yaya Pak admitted using Donya Tinidora’s game plan against her. “Eh sabi pag napatumba, talo eh. Kanya-kanyang strategy ito, lola.” (You said if you got slammed down, you lose. We have our own strategies, granny.) It made Donya Tinidora even more livid at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Eh bakit ginamitan mo ko nun?” (Why did you use it against me?) Yaya Pak was practical. “Eh sa gusto ko eh. Natalo ka eh.” (I want to. You lose.)

Donya Tinidora insisted her bitterness. “Bakit kelangang ganun?” (Why does it have to happen?) Yaya Git pretend-shoots Yaya Pak. Yaya Pak pretends to fall at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Lola, napatumba kita. So ibig sabihin nun, talo kita.” (I slammed you down. So it means, I defeated you.)

Donya Tinidora tried to reason out with Yaya Pak. “Pero dapat, di mo ko ginagamitan ng mga ganun.” (But you shouldn’t use such tactics with me.) Yaya Pak had to remind Donya Tinidora at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Eh pano? Meron pa naman si Yaya Git. Rawr! Meron pa naman si Yaya Git, lola. Malay mo.” (But how? Yaya Git is still there. What do you know?)

Divina had to remind Donya Tinidora of it too. “Teka lang. Teka lang. Hindi pa po tapos. Nandito pa si Yaya Git.” (Wait. Wait. It’s not done. Yaya Git is still here.) Alden heard Divina wrong though. “Panalo na si Yaya Pak.” (Yaya Pak wins.) Divina corrected Alden at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Hindi pa. Meron pa si Yaya Git.” (Not yet. Yaya Git is still here.)

Donya Tinidora had to make adjustments at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Sandali. Binago ko ang kumpetisyon. Nanghina na ako sa bunong-braso. Hindi ko na kaya ang bunong-braso.” (Wait. I changed the competition. I got weak with arm wrestling. I can’t do it anymore.) Yaya Pak asked. “Ano na po?” (What is it now?) Donya Tinidora tried some chest press on the ceiling. This was her suggested game change for Yaya Git.

Divina saw how easy it is for Donya Tinidora to lift herself up the ceiling. “Ang lakas ni lola oh.” (Granny is strong.) Yaya In thought of Yaya Git’s weight. “Naku, babagsak si Yaya Git niyan.” (Yaya Git will fall.) Alden agreed to Donya Tinidora’s suggestion. “Ayan. Dapat ganun.” (That is how it’s done.) Divina informed Yaya Git of the change. “Yaya Git, nabago na raw.” (Rules have been changed.)

The rules were explained off-mic. Yaya In got scared. “Magsitabi tayo.” (Let’s go to the sidelines.) Yaya Pak understood what Yaya In meant. “Baka bumagsak. Baka bumagsak.” (The roof might fall. The roof might fall.) Donya Tinidora gave her instructions to Yaya Git for the final round at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Taas mo yung kamay mo.” (Hands up.) It miffed Yaya Git. “May problema ba?” (Got a problem with me?)

Due to Yaya Git’s refusal to raise her hands at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. Donya Tinidora switched back to arm wrestling. “Halika. Naku, kaliwete ito.” (Come here. Oh great, she’s left-handed.) Yaya Git can adjust though. “Kahit saan.” (Any hand will do for me.) Yaya Pak helped Yaya Git sit down. But she pulled the chair further from her. Yaya Git almost hit Yaya Pak for pulling back the chair.

Donya Tinidora announced the clincher if Yaya Git wins. “Pag ito nanalo. Pag tinalo ako nito, ibig sabihin meron pa isa ulit pagsubok.” (If she wins. If she defeats me, it means there is another challenge.) Ryan got the gist at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “May isa pang round.” (There is another round.) Allan K saw Yaya Pak’s pranks to Yaya Git too. “Hinila agad.” (She pulled the chair.)

Yaya Pak verbalized some moral support for Yaya Git. “Kaya mo yan. Kaya mo yan.” (You can do it. You can do it.) Ryan clarified one issue at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “So si Yaya Pak ngayon. Siya ang leading.” (So Yaya Pak now. She is leading.) Donya Tinidora confirmed it. “Oo. Si Yaya Pak ang leading.” (Yes. Yaya Pak is leading.) Ryan made a wild guess. “Si Yaya Git, may tsansa.” (Yaya Git stands a chance.)

Donya Tinidora asked Yaya Git.“Ready ka na?” (Are you ready?) Yaya Git replied. “Ready.” Donya Tinidora used her right arm. “Kanan.” (Use right.) Yaya Git saw how Donya Tinidora extended her hand up high at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Sa ere ba tayo?” (We’re doing it up there?) Donya Tinidora confirmed it. “Sa ere tayo magbubunung-braso.” (We’re arm-wrestling up here.) Yaya Git was having none of her schemes. “Tatayo ako.” (I’d stand.) She stood up and held Donya Tinidora’s hand.

Donya Tinidora didn’t stand up. “Upo.” (You sit down.) Divina was amazed at how secretive Yaya Git is of her armpit. “Teka. Ano ba kasing nakatago diyan?” (What’s hidden in there?) Alden had to ask too. “Ano ba kasing nandyan? Parang awa mo na naman.” (What’s in there? Have mercy on those who asked.) Yaya Git’s answer at ALDUB The Search is Over wasn’t even serious. “Birhen ng Guadalupe. Nandito ang Marikina fault line.” (The Virgin of Guadalupe. And the Marikina fault line.)

Donya Tinidora asked Yaya Git again. “Ready ka na? Walang gamitan ng kilikili.” (Are you ready? Don’t use your armpits.) Yaya Git replied. “Wala. Amoy lang ito.” (No. It just smelled.) Divina started counting once the hands are secured. “3, 2, 1, go!” As expected, Yaya Git was strong. It was so easy for her. She’s basically whistling at ALDUB The Search is Over episode.

Yaya In saw that Yaya Git’s food is not yet finished. “Hindi pa nauubos ang pagkain, uy!” (You haven’t finished your food yet.) Yaya Git asked Donya Tinidora. “Pakiabot nga yung pagkain ko.” (Please hand me my food.) Donya Tinidora picked up the fried fish and put it in Yaya Git’s mouth. Head first. Yaya In butted in again at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Yan! Tamang-tama. Matipid yan.” (There! Saves a lot on budget.)

Alden saw how Yaya Git gets easily distracted. “Ulo ng isda.” (That’s a fish’s head.) Yaya Pak contributed to the distraction further. “Kanin. Kanin.” (Add rice. Add rice.) At ALDUB The Search is Over episode. Yaya Git was totally distracted enough for Donya Tinidora to take her down. Ryan wasn’t so surprised. “Ginamitan ng strategy, lola.” (There was some strategy applied.) Divina saw what happened too. “Kakaibang strategy yun, lola.” (That is some strategy, granny.)

Donya Tinidora reiterated what she said earlier at ALDUB The Search is Over episode. “Sabi na sa inyo, ginagamitan ng utak. Gaya ni Yaya Pak. Ginamitan ako ng utak. So mga kaibigan, buong mundo. Eto na po.” (I told you, brains are needed. Just like Yaya Pak. You need to use your brain. So to announce to friends. To the world. Here it is.) Divina joined Donya Tinidora in announcing. “Ang nagwagi.” (The winner.)

Donya Tinidora declared the winner for ALDUB The Search is Over episode’s Search for the Next Yaya. “Congratulations! Ang bagong yaya ng mansion. Yaya Pak!” (The new nanny of the mansion. Yaya Pak!) Divina raised the hand of the winner. Yaya Pak was so happy. “Yay! Thank you.”

Divina thanked the others who joined too. “Maraming salamat sa inyo ha? Yaya Glo. Yaya In at saka Yaya Git. Maraming salamat.” (Thank you for joining. Thank you very much.) Donya Tinidora gave Yaya Pak her first instructions as her employer. “Bukas na bukas, magre-report ka na. Simula sa iyong pagtatrabaho sa mansion. May orientation.” (Tomorrow itself, you’d be reporting for work. It’s your first day at the mansion. There will be an orientation.) As soon as Yaya Pak received the instructions, the truck horn honked off. Ending ALDUB The Search is Over episode on a cliffhanger.
