What is the best electric fan in the Philippines right now?
For a fan that runs eight hours a night, an inverter (DC) model is the smarter long-term buy. It draws less power, usually offers more speed steps, and is quieter at low settings. The Panasonic leads because it has the lowest power rating here and a long motor warranty. If you just need moving air in a room you rarely use, a regular AC fan still does the job, but none made this list because we could not find one in a brand’s own Shopee shop.
Here is what we looked at:
- Wattage. The DC fans here are rated at 30–35W. A regular 16-inch stand fan such as Kyowa’s KW-6715 is rated at 50W. Lower watts mean a lower bill over months of nightly use.
- Blade size. 16 inches for most bedrooms and living rooms, 18 inches for a big sala.
- Speeds, timer and remote. More speed steps and a sleep timer matter more than you think at 2 a.m.
- Noise. Few brands publish decibels. Midea does for its convertible fan: 35–62dBA.
- Warranty. Check what is covered: the motor, the electronics, or both. Inverter fans have a control board that usually needs an authorized service center to fix.

Inverter fan vs regular fan: how much do you save?
Less per night than the ads suggest, but it adds up. We used Meralco’s October 2026 rate of about ₱15.06 per kWh for a typical household, and eight hours a night:
- 30W DC fan: 0.24 kWh a night, about ₱3.61 of electricity per night, or about ₱108 over 30 days.
- 35W DC fan: 0.28 kWh a night, about ₱4.22 of electricity per night, or about ₱127 over 30 days.
- 50W regular fan: 0.4 kWh a night, about ₱6.02 of electricity per night, or about ₱181 over 30 days.
So one 35W inverter fan saves you roughly ₱54 of electricity a month over a 50W fan. Run three fans in the house and the gap triples. These are estimates at full rated power; on low speed, a DC fan usually draws less. Your bill also depends on your utility and total usage.
What size fan do you need?
For a sala or a big bedroom, get a 16-inch stand fan or bigger. The 18-inch Asahi DC-8001 is the biggest here and has the highest listed airflow of the two Asahi fans. For a small bedroom or a desk, the Midea convertible works as a shorter desk fan and takes less floor space. Check the height too: a tall stand fan can blow over a bed, while a shorter one is better for floor mattresses.

Is November a good time to buy a fan?
Yes. Fans are something you buy before the hot months, not during them, and 11.11 gives you vouchers to stack. Stick to the brand’s official shop, match the model or listing name to the brand page, and check that the listing mentions the warranty. Per Shopee’s help center, Coins can cover up to 25% of your checkout total, with daily and 7-day caps.

Frequently asked questions
Is an inverter fan worth it in the Philippines?
Yes, if you run it most nights. A 35W inverter fan saves about ₱54 of electricity a month over a 50W regular fan at Meralco’s October 2026 rate, and DC fans are usually quieter with more speed steps.
How much does it cost to run an electric fan for 8 hours?
About ₱4.22 of electricity for a 35W fan and about ₱6.02 for a 50W fan, at Meralco’s October 2026 typical-household rate of about ₱15.06 per kWh. Lower speeds cost less.
Which fan on this list uses the least power?
The Panasonic F-409LS, rated at 30W maximum by retailers Abenson and Ansons. The two Asahi fans and the Midea convertible are rated at 35W.
Stand fan vs air circulator: which cools better?
A stand fan spreads a wide, gentle breeze over people, while an air circulator pushes a tighter stream of air across a room. For sleeping, a stand fan is usually more comfortable. For moving air around a room, a circulator works better.
Can an inverter fan be repaired by any repair shop?
Not always. Inverter fans use a DC motor and an electronic control board, which usually need the brand’s authorized service center. Check your warranty terms before bringing it to a regular repair shop.
