USWAG, Pinas! Special Edition highlights the symbolic vaccination of the A4 Priority Group, composed of economic frontliners and essential workers, as the national government intensifies its mass vaccination against COVID-19 to inoculate majority of the Filipino people in order to achieve population protection.
Dr. Nina Gloriani, Head of the Vaccine Expert Panel, cites the benefits of getting vaccinated and provides information on what to do in case one experiences side effects after getting the jab, in part two of her interview.
This week’s episode also features the Philippine Rise Commemoration 2021 held on 12 June 2021, coinciding with the 123rd Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence. The occasion marked the 5th anniversary of Executive Order No. 25 issued by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte renaming the ‘Benham Rise’ to its current name.
Derived from the Bisayan term ‘uswag’ which means progress, this special edition of the social media program aims to inform viewers about the ongoing vaccination in different communities across the nation, the tireless efforts of healthcare workers and medical frontliners in battling the virus, and interviews from inoculated Filipinos and medical experts on the benefits of getting the jab to further boost vaccine confidence amongst the people.
USWAG, Pinas! Special Edition is a flagship program of the Presidential Broadcast Staff – Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM).
