President Rodrigo Roa Duterte convenes his Cabinet members to discuss the latest updates on the ongoing procurement of vaccines for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and other health matters in addressing the effects of the pandemic in the country.
As negotiations for the purchase of vaccines from various manufacturers continue to prosper, President Duterte assures his ‘kababayans’ that the government is utilizing all the necessary measures to ensure a safe and secure vaccination program for the Filipinos. He reiterates that the government remains committed in prioritizing the health and welfare of the people towards a full recovery from the pandemic.
On another matter, the Chief Executive enumerates the names of 89 barangay captains suspended by the Office of the Ombudsman in connection with anomalies and irregularities in the implementation of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
