President Rodrigo Roa Duterte convenes several Cabinet members to discuss updates on the national government’s latest efforts against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, as well as other important matters in the country.
In his regular Talk to the People on COVID-19 held this week in Davao City, President Duterte invites medical experts to seek their expertise on several matters of concern including the existing quarantine protocols for returning Filipinos in the country and stricter implementation of minimum public health standards amid the new COVID-19 variants.
Moreover, the Chief Executive expresses satisfaction on the highest daily vaccination rate recorded in the country as the inoculation drive continues to go full swing. He hopes to sustain it in order to achieve population protection as more vaccine supplies are expected to arrive in the coming months.
Based on the latest information, more than eight (8) million Filipinos nationwide have been inoculated. Of this number, two (2) million individuals have already completed two (2) doses.
As the government continues to advocate for the safety and efficacy of available COVID-19 vaccines in the country, President Duterte appeals to his ‘kababayans’ to get vaccinated at the soonest possible time.
