The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) provides updates on the country’s current situation amid the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic through a ‘Virtual Presser’ at the New Executive Building (NEB) in Malacañang on March 25, 2020.
On Monday (March 23), the Senate and the House of Representatives, during a special session, approved a measure granting the Executive Department’s request for ‘special powers’, through the ‘Bayanihan to Heal as One Act’, to fight the burgeoning number of COVID-19 cases in the country. The passage comes following an order placing the entire Luzon under ‘Enhanced Community Quarantine’ until April 12, 2020 and the declaration of Proclamation Nos. 922 and 929 (series of 2020) that places the country under a ‘State of Public Health Emergency’ and ‘State of Calamity’.
