President Rodrigo Roa Duterte leads the simultaneous Commencement Exercises of the Philippine Military Academy’s (PMA) ‘MASIDLAWIN’ Class of 2020 and the Philippine National Police Academy’s (PNPA) ‘MANDAYUG’ Class of 2020 at the Malacañang Golf (MALAGO) Clubhouse in Malacañang Park, Manila on May 22, 2020.
With the PMA’s ‘MASIDLAWIN’ Class assembled at the Fort General Gregorio H. Del Pilar in Baguio City and the PNPA’s ‘MANDAYUG’ Class at the Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda in Silang, Cavite, the Commander-in-Chief delivers his commencement address and marching orders via video conference to the country’s incoming military and police officers.
The simultaneous commencement exercises are limited only to the graduating classes without the attendance of their families and invited guests, and follow the two-meter rule seating arrangements in observance of the strict implementation of social distancing measures.
This is the first simultaneous virtual commencement exercises to be attended by the Commander-in-Chief as the country continues to battle the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
