President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivers his remarks during the commemoration of the anniversary of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace on January 21, 2021.
Present during the ceremony are BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, Minister Mohagher Iqbal (BARMM Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education) and Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Carlos Dominguez III.
The Bangsamoro Region was established in 2019 after two plebiscites, replacing the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) in the hopes of bringing lasting peace and security in the region.
