Finding a nanny was tough as impiled in the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. Much of the screening is not shown on camera just like in the ALDUB Going Strong episode and ALDUB Story Continues episode. Still, Lola Nidora and Donya Tinidora are confident that they would find someone to take Divina’s place as over-all domestic helper. Big shoes to fill. Bigger than that of their chief chambermaid, Rihanna, perhaps. But the search goes on.
Early in the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode, they discussed the performances at the EB Lenten episodes. Like the confrontation scene between James and Frank that Alden and Donya Tinidora tried to reenact. The only difficulty they encountered was being in different locations. Alden was at the studio while Donya Tinidora was at the barangay venue. It was intense still. While the initial purpose of these Lenten episodes was for reflective purposes, the dramatic prowess of the performers was also discussed.
This was when Donya Tinidora was asked to provide a sample thanksgiving speech in case she would win in behalf of Jose Manalo. “Sa may kagagawan nito, maraming maraming salamat sa inyo. Maraming salamat po at kami po talaga ay walang makain. Isang beses lang po kami kumain sa isang araw.” (To whoever is in charge here, thank you very much. Thank you very much and we’ve been out of food. We only get to eat once a day.) Lola Nidora didn’t think that part should be included in the mock speech delivered at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Kailangan ganun ang sasabihin?” (Do you really have to say that?)
Donya Tinidora reasoned out. “Kailangan nadadala mo yung tao.” (You need to get the audience carried away [with your speech].) Donya Tinidora then continued with her mock speech at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Kundi po dahil sa award na ito. Dahil po dito, makakakain na po kami. Maisasangla na po namin itong tropeo na ito.” (If not for this award, we will finally eat. We will have this trophy pawned.)
Lola Nidora found that part of the mock speech out of place as well. “Bakit naman isasangla?” (Why would it be pawned?) Donya Tinidora explained at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Kasi gold-plated yun, ate. Ngayon siempre para hindi mo isangla, maaawa yung tao. Ikaw, Divina, umiikot ka na nun. May dala kang basket.” (It’s gold-plated, elder sister. Now of course, for you not to pawn it, the audience would feel pity. Divina, that’s when you start doing the rounds. You carry a basket then.)
Divina immediately understood Donya Tinidora’s gist. “Humihingi na po ako.” (I start soliciting by then.) Donya Tinidora confirmed Divina’s hunch. “At least may award na tayo. May cash pa tayo. Ganun ang mga ano ng award.” (At least we bagged an award. And we earned some cash too. It’s the [gimmick] when it comes to awards.) Lola Nidora was skeptical about Donya Tinidora’s scheme at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Hindi ba bawal yun?” (Isn’t that prohibited?)
Donya Tinidora ignored Lola Nidora’s skepticism. She turned her attention to Alden. “Kaya ikaw, Alden. Dapat turuan mo kami.” (So, Alden. You should teach us.) That’s where Lola Nidora agreed with her sister. “Tama, Alden. Ikaw nga ang magturo sa amin.” (Correct, Alden. You should teach us.) Divina knew how accustomed Alden is in awarding ceremonies prior to the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Di ba ikaw, lagi kang nakakakuha ng award?” (Aren’t you used to getting awards?)
Alden didn’t take all of the credit. “Hoy, tayo! Tayo. Tayo. Tayo.” (It’s us! Us. Us. Us.) Divina insisted her perception. “May pag-iyak ka pa.” (You even tear up.) Alden replied. “Pero alam mo ba yung nararamdaman ko sa yo? Parang pagtatanim.” (But do you know my feelings for you? It’s like farming.) Divina asked. “Bakit?” Alden then used a nursery rhyme to deliver a pickup line at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Hindi biro.” (It’s no joke.)
Divina found it funny. “Hindi ako na-orient na may pa-joke eh. Pero may tanong ako sa yo.” (I wasn’t oriented that there’s an upcoming joke. But I have a question for you.) Alden then braced himself for Divina’s question at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Ano yun?” (What is it?) Divina went through with her question. “Anong pinakamasakit na AMPALAYA?” (What’s the most painful AMPALAYA?) Alden then asked. “Ano?” (What is it?) Divina replied. “E di AMPALAYAin ka.” (It’s AMPALAYAin [to set you free].)
Finally, Donya Tinidora heard a joke from Divina that made her laugh. “AMPALAYAin ka ha? Maganda yun. Hindi AMPALAYA con carne ha?” (That’s a good one. It’s not AMPALAYA con carne, huh?) Alden then shared his tip at eh ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Lola, madali lang naman yung sa ano eh. Sa acceptance speech po. Kelangan nyo lang pong gawin, magpasalamat po sa Dios. Saka pasalamatan nyo po yung kung sino yung nasa puso nyo.” (Granny, it’s easy [to deliver a speech]. All you need to do is thank God. Then thank whoever is in your heart.)
Donya Tinidora had a different understanding of things inside a person. “Yun. Yung mga nasa loobin mo. Atay. Balun-balunan.” (There. Everything in you. Liver and bowels.) Lola Nidora heard differently though at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Sa puso!” (In the heart!) Donya Tinidora almost apologized. “Ah sa puso ba?” (In the heart?) Then Lola Nidora tried to start her speech. “Sa aking left vein. Mga cholesterol. Palpitation.” (My left vein. The cholesterol. Palpitation.) It was Alden’s turn to correct Lola Nidora. “Lola, tao!” (Granny, [thank] people!) Lola Nidora tried to lighten up the situation. “Tao. Nagbibiro lang ako.” (People. Just kidding.)
Donya Tinidora changed the topic minutes later at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Divina, may good news nga pala kami sa yo.” (We have good news for you.) Divina suddenly felt excited. “Ano po yun, lola?” (What is it, granny?) Donya Tinidora teased some info. “Meron kaming sorpresa sa yo.” (It’s a surprise for you.) Lola Nidora tried to make sure that Divina is listening. “Makinig ka.” (Listen.) Then Lola Nidora and Donya Tinidora chorused. “Nabenta na natin yung lupa sa Zambales.” (Our lot in Zambales is already sold.) Divina danced in joy.
Donya Tinidora was amused at the way Divina expressed her happiness at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Naging sirena.” (She became a mermaid.) Alden viewed it differently. “Naging isda.” (She became a fish.) Donya Tinidora found the effects of Rihanna’s track interesting on Divina. “Nagiging sirena ito pag naririnig si kwek kwek kwek.” (She becomes a mermaid every time she hears the kwek kwek kwek song.)
Lola Nidora egged Divina to join the fun. “Magsaya tayong lahat, Divina.” (Let’s celebrate, Divina.) Divina viewed this latest sale as a good sign at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Oo nga po, lola. Sobrang daming blessings ang binibigay sa atin ni Lord.” (Yes, indeed, granny. We’re getting so many blessings from the Lord.) Lola Nidora agreed. “Nakakabawi-bawi na rin tayo sa lahat ng mga nangyari sa atin. At marami pa tayong dapat ipagpasalamat.” (We can finally get rejunated against everything that happened to us. And we still have a lot to thank for.)
The Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio later came in with a woman. Based on the way they brought her, Lola Nidora thought she’s someone they caught on a misdemeanor charge. “Bakit parang may nahuli kayo?” (How come it looked like you caught someone?) One of the Rogelio later explained she’s an applicant that they personally recruited prior to the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Eto na po recruit namin. Magaling po yan.” (Here is our recruit. She’s good.)
Donya Tinidora remembered giving specific instructions to the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio. “Ang sabi sa inyo, wala munang audition. Gawa nang pupunta pa kami sa Zambales. Pambihira ito oh.” (You were told that have no audition for the meantime. We are about to leave for Zambales. You people.) Lola Nidora was perplexed with the Rogelio’s choice of term. “Bakit kayo nagre-recruit? Hindi recruit.” (Why recruit? It shouldn’t be a recruiting thing.) Donya Tinidora suspected their bodyguards of doing something else at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “May recruiting agency ka pa?” (You have a recruiting agency now?)
Alden tried to find some reason behind the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio’s move. “Baka po naga-apply, lola.” (She might be an applicant, granny.) Lola Nidora reiterated what Donya Tinidora told the bodyguards. “Sinabi na ni Tinidora na wag munang magpa-audition.” (Tinidora said no auditions for the meantime.) But Donya Tinidora can’t send away the applicant either at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Tutal, nandito na rin lang naman itong bata na to. Subukan na rin natin bago tayo umalis. Sakit na naman ng ulo ni Marvic dito.” (Since this kid is already here. Let’s give her a try before leaving. Marvic would surely get a headache again from this.)
Bossing Vic didn’t look like getting stressed though. He muttered away from the microphone. “Taas ang kamay.” (Hands up.) The applicant almost did while suppressing her laughter. [The applicant was portrayed by Anne Boleche a.k.a. Hopia. Raising her hands is one inside joke that became popular in time in Eat Bulaga.] At the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. Lola Nidora eventually talked to the applicant. “Ano ang pangalan mo, hija?” (What’s your name, dear?)
The applicant then introduced herself in broken English that sounded familiar. “Hi. Good afternoon, lolas. Yaya. Alden. Hello. Good afternoon. By the way, I want to introduce myself first. I am Yaya Glo. Short for Yaya Glota.” [Glota is the slang term for glutathione, a popular whitening ingredient in skin care products.] Donya Tinidora repeated Yaya Glo’s name at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode to make sure that she heard her correctly. “Yaya Glota.”
Yaya Glo continued at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “And I am a simple girl with a simple dream. You know that. And I want to be your next yaya. I am good in cooking. I can dance. I can wash. I can wash clothes, lola. As many as I can. And take note, I can make your house extravagant, clean and neat. Yes.” Lola Nidora had to ask Divina to be sure. “Ano raw, Divina?” (What did she say?)
Before Divina could summarize what Yaya Glo said, Yaya Glo continued. “Lola, please give me a chance.” Donya Tinidora had to pry some info from Yaya Glo first. “Sandali. Ano ba alam mo? Sige, umpisahan natin, hija. Mukhang magaling ka naman. May kamukha itong bata na ito.” (Wait. What can you do? Let’s start, dear. You look capable. This kid looked like someone.) Lola Nidora asked Yaya Glo too. “Tagasaan ka ba, hija?” (From where are you, dear?) Soon, Yaya Glo’s broken English at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode caught on Donya Tinidora. “Why you speak like that? Why are you English?”
Yaya Glo’s grammar slightly worsened. “Coz we brought like this. In the province we brought like this.” It was then implied that she was raised to speak like that as heard at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. Donya Tinidora still found Yaya Glo familiar. “May hawig ka. May kamukha kang yaya eh.”(You looked like someone. Like another nanny.) Bossing Vic asked. “Sinong yaya?” (Which nanny?)
Yaya Glo went back to Lola Nidora’s question. “Lola, you ask me where I live?” Donya Tinidora was somewhat broken too. “Oo. Your live.” Yaya Glo had a little difficulty describing where she lived. “Actually I live beside the corners. We always move house. One house. Like that. So we feel like no permanent address. Like NPA.” Donya Tinidora checked if she understood correctly at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Ah, lipat kayo ng lipat.” (Oh, so you were moving constantly.) Yaya Glo replied. “Yes.”
Bossing Vic somewhat understood it too. “Kanto. Sa kanto raw.” (By the corner, she said.) Ruby tried to put two and two together too. “Kanto kanto.” [Literally: corner corner.] Donya Tinidora then deciphered in between Yaya Glo’s lines at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Kanto kanto. Corner corner lang. Naku. May talent ka ba, hija? Marunong ka bang sumayaw?” (Do you have any talent, dear? Do you know how to dance?) Yaya Glo confirmed it. “You know me. Yes. I have a lot of talent.” Donya Tinidora then prodded Yaya Glo. “Okay. Show me yout talent.”
Yaya Glo was prepared enough at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “I can dance. Back-up, come here.” Lola Nidora was amused that there’s even some back-up dancers. “Nagdala pa ng back-up ‘to.” (She even tagged along some back-up dancers.) Donya Tinidora found the back-up dancers familiar too. “Naku. Mga apo pa ni Tiburcio ang back-up.” (They looked like grandchildren of Tiburcio.) [“Tiburcio” was either a slang for “lesbian” or some character that Donya Tinidora did not explain in detail.]
And so the audition panel and the KalyeSerye panel watched Yaya Glo’s dance number at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. Lola Nidora liked it despite the distracting back-up. “Nakasira pa yung back-up.” (The back-up ruined the number.) Donya Tinidora saw some nice add-ons at the performance too. “Aba, may lifting pa ha?” (Some parts lifted her too.) Yaya Glo was starting to enjoy her number when Donya Tinidora gave some instructions. “Oh ayan! Taas kamay! Freeze lang yung taas kamay! Derecho lang.” (Hands up! Freeze with your hands up! Keep your arms straight.)
Donya Tinidora then checked Yaya Glo’s underarms. “Wow, pumuputi na ha? Sa TV maputi. Pero sa live hindi ha?” (They’re getting fairer, huh? On TV, they looked white. But not on live viewing, huh?) Bossing Vic didn’t know whether to laugh or to be disappointed. “Muntik na ko ma-impress ha?” (I was almost impressed.) Donya Tinidora described Yaya Glo’s underarms further. “Hindi. Tama lang ng ilaw yun.” (No. They’re just lights hitting her underarms.) Yaya Glo was suppressing her laugh at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode.
Lola Nidora chose to comment on the dance number instead. “Magaling yung sayaw. Palakpakan nyo naman.” (The dance was good. Please clap.) Yaya Glo was thankful for the appreciation at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Thank you. Thank you.” Donya Tinidora then threw the next question. “Marunong ka bang kumanta?” (Can you sing?) Yaya Glo briefly replied. “Yes. Yes, lolas. I can sing.”
Lola Nidora knew that Yaya Glo was ready to sing. “Ano ba mga inawit mo, hija?” (What do you sing, dear?) Yaya Glo described her perceived genre. “Actually, modern.” That’s when Lola Nidora referred to Divina again at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Hindi ko alam yun.” (I’m not familiar with them.) Divina took it from here and asked Yaya Glo later. “Pero, lola, alam ko po. Anong kanta ang kakantahin mo?” (But, granny, I know. What are you going to sing?) Yaya Glo replied. “So baby it’s you.”
Donya Tinidora is familiar with the song. So she immediately realized that it’s just a line from the song. Not the title itself. “So baby it’s you. You’re the one two three. Ano title nun? Love on Top. Go.” Yaya Glo then started singing Beyonce’s Love On Top. Not exactly in tune. But the effort was worthwhile. Besides she made it up with her hand gestures. Donya Tinidora took advantage of this in the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode once Yaya Glo raised her hands. “Freeze lang. Dito yun. Humarap ka.” (Stay here. Face the camera [with your hands up].)
Yaya Glo raised one hand with her armpit not angled towards the camera at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. Everyone found Yaya Glo’s effort to hide her armpits as funny. Later, despite the broken English, Yaya Glo eventually revealed her goal once employed. “Because, lola, I having a problem.” Donya Tinidora asked. “Why?” Yaya Glo continued. “That’s why I’m here. Coz I want to fix … Fix behind here.” She then points to her armpits.
Donya Tinidora knew Yaya Glo just by name. “Kala ko ba ikaw si Yaya Glo?” (I thought you’re Yaya Glo?) Yaya Glo verified it and then some. “Yeah. But when you use the glota, it’s not overall fix.” Donya Tinidora knew where Yaya Glo’s explanation led at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Ang alam ko talaga, ang kilikili di tinatablan ng glota yan. Naiiwan yan.” (I know that glutathione doesn’t reach the armpits. It gets left behind [in the whitening process].) Ruby was laughing loudly away from the microphone.
Yaya Glo confirmed Donya Tinidora’s hunch. “The outer part only. So you have to make sure to strive harder to buy a lot for the inner.” Donya Tinidora can’t imagine the amount of glutathione that Yaya Glo needed to be that fair after the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Hanggang kaloob-looban. Pati bituka niyan, puputi na.” ([She wanted] Fairer skin deep down. Chances are even her bowels whiten too.)
Lola Nidora threw the follow-up question. “Sumayaw ka. Kumanta. Yung umakting?” (You danced. You sang. How about acting?) Yaya Glo replied. “Lola, I can do acting also.” Donya Tinidora wasted no time in telling Yaya Glo to act at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Okay, acting. Action.” Yaya Glo then recited some lines from Allan K’s EB Lenten episode. “Brother I miss you. I didn’t know that you told me a lot of things. You’re undergoing medication. Our family always ask for money. Money. Money. No hi hello. Brother, I’m sorry.”
Donya Tinidora told Yaya Glo certain camera angles to face while acting. “Umiiyak ha? Humarap ka dun. Pakita mo yung luha mo.” (She’s crying, huh? Face that way. Show your tears.) Bossing Vic saw Yaya Glo close up. “May luha. May luha ha?” (There are tears.) Donya Tinidora agreed. “May luha, bossing.” (There are tears.) At second glance though at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. Bossing Vic had doubts. “Luha ba o pawis?” (Are they tears or sweat?)
Lola Nidora confirmed the former. “Lumuha. Lumuha.” (Tears. Tears.) Divina remembered Yaya Glo’s lines from the EB Lenten special too. “Yung sa Lenten yan.” Yaya Glo verified it. “Yes. It’s the character of my idol. In the TV, Allan K and the EB Babe Hopia.” Now this is the part in the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode where Donya Tinidora’s skepticism became obvious. “EB Babe Hopia. Idol mo yun?” (Your idol is EB Babe Hopia?) Yaya Glo replied. “Yes.” Divina then compared Yaya Glo to Hopia. “May hawig kayo.” (You look similar.)
Lola Nidora chose to ask for previous job experience, if any. “Ikaw ba may experience na sa pagiging yaya?” (Do you have any experience as a nanny?) Yaya Glo was blunt enough to mention the lack of experience. “Not really. Before, 3 weeks. 3 weeks but my ma’am migrate in the America. When migrate, I lost my job. But I’m really good. You know why?” Donya Tinidora asked. “Why?” Yaya Glo then mentioned a family pattern job-wise. “Because in our blood, our blood inside circulating. In our blood it’s circulating. Because my grandmother in the knee.”
Yaya Glo’s direct translation at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode may be bad. But Donya Tinidora understood what Yaya Glo was trying to describe. “Lola sa tuhod.” (Great grandmother.) Yaya Glo then discussed her great grandmother’s job as a nanny. “My grandmother in the knee is a yaya way way back.” Donya Tinidora then checked if she heard Yaya Glo correctly. “Ah! Dating yaya ang lola mo?” (Your great grandmother is a former nanny?)
Yaya Glo based her story on what she was told. “And they told like this in the barangay that she have 3 alagas. Very beautiful.” Bossing Vic realized that not everything that Yaya Glo said is a direct translation. “What’s alaga in English?” Yaya Glo then translated the word “alaga” (ward) based on her understanding at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Taking care. 3 taking care babies. And you know what? They live in the mansion. Big mansion. So they are R-I-C-H.”
Bossing Vic then tested if Yaya Glo can repeat everything she said from the top. “Really? How’s that again? Your grandmother in the knee?” Yaya Glo ended up rephrasing what she said at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Before she taking care 3 and the 3. Yes 3 beautiful. Beautiful. They live in the big mansion. They are like R-I-C-H.” Bossing Vic remembered focusing on a certain word though. “Ah, rich. But you said beautiful.” Now that’s the part that Yaya Glo can’t confirm. “Yes. That’s what they told me. But I don’t know.”
Lola Nidora had to ask who was it. “Ano ba ang pangalan ng lola mo sa tuhod?” (What is the name of your great grandmother?) Yaya Glo briefly replied. “Lola Beyonce. Also known before YayaMot.” (Granny Beyonce.) It rung a bell in Donya Tinidora’s memory. “YayaMot?” Yaya Glo replied albeit bewildered at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Yes. You know my lola?”Lola Nidora’s gut feel kicked in. “Kaya naman pala.” (That explains it.)
Donya Tinidora had to ask further. “Apo ka ni YayaMot?” (You are YayaMot’s great grand-daughter?) Lola Nidora then approached Yaya Glo for a closer look at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Kamukha niya si YayaMot. Naku, kumusta na si YayaMot?” (She does look like YayaMot. How is YayaMot?) Donya Tinidora checked Yaya Glo’s armpits again. “Oo nga. Siya na nga. May balat sa kilikili.” (Yes. She is. She has a birthmark on her armpit.) Yaya Glo was quick to put down her right hand to hide her armpit again.
Now Lola Nidora understood why Yaya Glo spoke broken English too at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode too. “Kamusta na si YayaMot? Nagi-English din yun. Kaya nagi-English din ‘to.” (How is YayaMot? She speaks English too. So she [Yaya Glo] ended up speaking English too.) Yaya Glo mentioned the kind of upbringing in their household. “That’s why we brought like speaking in English because of lola. She’s now in province resting. Having peace of mind.”
Donya Tinidora’s sarcasm was evident in spotting the similarities between Yaya Glo and YayaMot grammar-wise. “But it’s really understand your English.” Lola Nidora didn’t care about grammar anymore at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Okay lang yan. Tanggapin na natin siya, Tinidora. Parang magaan ang loob ko sa kanya.” (It’s okay. Let’s accept her. I feel good with her.)
Donya Tinidora didn’t think a positive gut feel is enough accept Yaya Glo at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Ano ka ba naman, ate? Pag-iisipan na muna natin kung tatanggapin natin siyang mabuti. Di porke kamag-anak na ni YayaMot yan eh tatanggapin na natin. Baka mamaya si YayaMot, okay. Baka mamaya matingera yan. Baka malikot ang kamay niyan.” (What is with you, elder sister? Let’s analyze first if we will eventually accept her. Not because she’s a relative of YayaMot, we will take her in. YayaMot might be the one who’s okay. She [Yaya Glo] might be some klepto. She might have erratic hands.) Lola Nidora then relented to her sister’s suspicion. “O sige.” (Okay.)
Lola Nidora faced Yaya Glo in behalf of the audition panel. “We are going to think about your application.” Yaya Glo was cool with it. “It’s okay.” Shortly at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode, one of the Rogelios came in and whispered to Lola Nidora. Lola Nidora thought Donya Tinidora should know too. “Ano? Ibulong mo rin sa kanya.” (What? Whisper it to her too.) The same Rogelio then whispered to Donya Tinidora.
Donya Tinidora almost broke the fourth wall. “Wala ka namang sinabi eh. Huh?” (You didn’t whisper anything … Wait, what?) Lola Nidora let out some hint. “Meron pa?” (Another one?) The truck horn honked off. Ending the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode on a cliffhanger.
Bossing Vic wanted to know more though. “Meron pang ano? Ging Ging, what can you say?” (There is another what?) Donya Tinidora through Ging Ging ended up sporting broken English too. “You know, bossing? The English is very poor to understand.” Bossing Vic realized that it’s another direct translation at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Mahirap intindihin.” (It’s very difficult to understand.)
Ging Ging still used the word “poor” as opposed to “difficult”. “Yes. It’s very poor to understand. But before anything else, the lola is very very happy and also yaya. Because, bossing, you know, they benta. They benta the lupa.” Bossing Vic realized how Ging Ging’s effort at direct translation failed. “They sold. They sold.” Ging Ging insisted on using her own vocabulary at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “They benta the lupa in Zambales. That’s why very happy. Very dami na pera. Very dami na sila pera.”
Bossing Vic sensed how Ging Ging ended up sounding different at the ALDUB Wanted Yaya episode. “Ikaw na Chinese ah.” (Now you sound Chinese.) Ging Ging agreed. “I am Chinese na, bossing. Pero may dumating na naga-apply. Magaling kumanta. Magaling sumayaw. Higit sa lahat, itim. Ng buhok, bossing. Ang itim ng buhok niya. Tingnan nyo.” (But another applicant arrived. She can sing good. She can dance good. Most of all, dark. Her hair is dark.) Bossing Vic noted the dark hair. “Pati kilay maitim eh. Maitim ang buhok. Sa kilikili.” (Her brows are dark. Dark hair. In her armpits.)
