The ALDUB Together Again episode opens with Donya Tidora and Donya Tinidora getting their nails done. In typical Pinoy fashion, gossip starts in this setting. Donya Tidora admits that YayaDUB’s chances of winning the Bulaga Pa More Dabarkads Pa More Grand Finals. In retaliation, Donya Tinidora openly speculates Paolo Ballesteros’ chances of winning the Grand Finals of Bulaga Pa More Dabarkads Pa More. Then again, Donya Tinidora would say that as Jose Manalo (and Wally Bayola) were eliminated in the said Bulaga Pa More edition.
Lola Nidora arrived with a good mood and an Australian accent upon greeting everyone “Have a nice day!” at the ALDUB Together Again episode The sisters then thought that she has finally decided in joining Bulaga Pa More. She was so happy that she almost tripped while dancing Dessert. “Bakit hindi pantay ang lupa?” (How come the ground is uneven?) Then she addressed YayaDUB’s request. “Nag-usap na kami ni Yaya. Moment niya yun. Dapat yung spotlight sa kanya nakatutok. Pag andun ako malamang masapawan ko.” (We have talked of nanny. It’s her moment. The spotlight should be focused on her. If I’m there. I might end up stealing her thunder.)
Lola Nidora went back to conditioning YayaDUB in Alden’s absence. Not everyday is Christmas. And not everyday is giddy. YayaDUB looked like a little toddler learning to speak again. The word “kilig” is instilled in her not as an everyday occurrence. But instead of the word “Pasko”, what comes out of YayaDUB’s mouth is “Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way”. So it’s basically more of a word association thing for her. Clearly, she’s still not in control of her voice in the ALDUB Together Again episode. It’s the kind of vocal fluctuation reminiscent of Bumblebee’s difficulty in speaking at from the first Transformers movie by Michael Bay.
At least in the ALDUB Together Again episode. Lola Nidora was more understanding of Alden’s absence. “Si Alden, marami rin siyang kailangang makapiling. Kailangan nating maintindihan. Wag tayong possessive. Kaming mga lola mo ang pinakamalaki mong inspirasyon. Kami ang pinakamalakas ang palakpak sa yo.” (Alden has so many people to be with. We need to understand that. Let’s not be possessive. We your grannies are your biggest inspiration. We have the loudest claps for you.) It sounds like a response to fans complaining about Alden’s absence as well as his absence of an explanation for the aforementioned absence. Then again, Alden is a human being entitled to his privacy. That includes an option not to explain himself to everyone else about his absence. Because the KalyeSerye cast and crew knew better. The ALDUB Together Again episode served as an opportunity to take Alden’s side.
Lola Nidora also reminded YayaDUB of the other crowd that she can count on for inspiration. “Alam mo dapat maging inspirasyon din natin ang mga kaibigan nating OFW. Malayo sila. Hindi nila nakikita yung mahal nila sa buhay.” (Our OFW friends should also serve as your inspiration. They are far away. They don’t get to see their loved ones.) This is an acknowledgment of #TeamReplay. They are the OFW audience that often gets to watch the Eat Bulaga uploads of episode replays on their official Facebook page. Some of them get to see stray YouTube uploads of the episode replay. But most of them would still go to Facebook for the verified uploads. Like the ALDUB Together Again episode replay that they viewed in support of Eat Bulaga and of ALDUB.
Shortly, snippets of Alden Richards were shown on the other monitor. Just when YayaDUB thought Alden is back. Baste appeared. He has an Alden mask to help YayaDUB be happy in Alden’s absence. Baste had been with YayaDUB for just a day. The day when YayaDUB was at the Broadway Centrum. Being an efficient nanny, she managed to get close to Baste and to Ryzza Mae. It may not be clear when would YayaDUB be back at the studio apart from the Bulaga Pa More Dabarkads Pa More Grand Finals. But it might be a closer possibility than seeing Alden back on Eat Bulaga for now. The ALDUB Together Again episode has yet to show even a taped greeting for YayaDUB though.
Baste sang to YayaDUB and to the rest of the grannies. He would occasionally say “YayaDUB, I miss you”. Lola Nidora found Alden’s nephew to be very cute. He then said “I love you” to Lola Nidora in Visaya. Shen then replied “I love you too”. Baste sang again. Since he was sitting down while singing, he found time to lie on his back while singing. The camera panned over Baste and found him awake but still singing. He seemed hungry. The mic is practically THISCLOSE to his mouth. After singing, he said “Palakpakan!” (Applause!) He is one character in the ALDUB Together Again episode that seemed having no worries in the world.
Lola Nidora tried to distract YayaDUB as well from her sadness in the ALDUB Together Again episode. She then taught her some steps from the upbeat track Dessert. From the tai chi-esque hands to the crushing mannerisms. She then asked Donya Tinidora to teach YayaDUB some dance moves too. Donya Tinidora was happy to oblige. “May bago ako. Mambo No. 5. Bago yun. Hagdan lang ang katapat.” (I have something new. Mambo No. 5. It’s new. All you need is a ladder.) Donya Tinidora emphasized the hopping motions off the ladder though. Climbing and descending from the ladder are not enough.) She mentioned something most ALDUB fans have noticed though. “Para namang Mr. Bean ito.” (She’s like Mr. Bean!) YayaDUB has facial expressions that rivaled that of Rowan Atkinson himself.
As YayaDUB is starting to enjoy the grannies’ lessons. The riding in tandem arrived with a letter addressed to “Donya Nidora Esperanza viuda de Explorer” (In other words, Donya Tidora and Donya Tinidora might have other surnames. Otherwise, they’d end up looking like Lola Nidora’s sisters-in-law.) Just like in other episodes, the riding in tandem arrived randomly in the ALDUB Together Again episode. They almost hit Donya Tinidora. “Dahan-dahan kayo! Masasagasaan eh!” (Carefully! I’m about to get hit!)
Lola Nidora opened the letter. She tried to keep YayaDUB and her sisters away. “Pag hindi mo sulat, wag mong basahin.” (If it’s not your letter, don’t read it.) Apparently, it was a sad letter that arrived at the ALDUB Together Again episode. As Donya Tidora openly speculated on the letter’s contents (or lack of it). Lola Nidora asked to be left alone. Donya Tinidora’s sarcasm attacked again. And it bordered on violence. “Ate, ano yun? Ate, magsalita ka! Tatampalin kita!” (Elder sister, what is it? Elder sister, speak up! I’ll slap you!) Allan K had to remind her. “Ate mo yan!” (That’s your elder sister!) Donya Tinidora justified her anger. “Ang hilig kasing mambitin!” (She likes keeping everyone hanging!) YayaDUB realized the gravity of the situation in the ALDUB Together Again episode. She ended up talking. “Lola, hindi ko po kayo iiwan.” (Granny, I will not leave you.)
Most ALDUB viewers knew how clingy Lola Nidora could get. YayaDUB had to assure her in the ALDUB Together Again episode that she will stay. Lola Nidora ended up asking YayaDUB if she meant it. “Yaya, yaya, wag mo kong iiwan.” (Nanny, nanny, don’t leave me.) Donya Tinidora had to assure Lola Nidora though. “Wag kang mag-alala. Hindi ka iiwan niyan. Mauuna ka pa diyan. Bata pa yan.” (Don’t worry. She will not leave you. You’d be gone ahead of her. She’s still young.) The KalyeSerye commentators occasionally found Donya Tinidora’s sarcasm to be a little too evil.
Since Donya Tidora would often just agree to whatever Donya Tinidora said, they dubbed them “The Evil Sisters”. While waiting for Lola Nidora to regain her composure. Donya Tidora and Donya Tinidora went to their “Sugod Bahay” errand for the meantime. (Seriously, Eat Bulaga. The only way you can avoid contestants who act poorer than they actually are is by going to the winner’s home. Some contestants’ stories are just too histrionic to believe. Viewers can’t tell if these “winners” are really poor or just auditioning for the next melodrama. Hopefully the ALDUB Together Again episode would be one of the last episodes that would deviate from the Sugod Bahay formula.)
Donya Tidora and Donya Tinidora then returned to a still depressed Lola Nidora. Depressed may be an overused word in social media. But in the ALDUB Together Again episode, it seemed appropriate given Lola Nidora’s shock. She can’t tell YayaDUB what the letter contained. And nothing could take her away from her catatonic state. Not playing Dessert. Not Baste. Not the audience that tried to take away her blues.
The ALDUB Together Again episode let Lola Nidora talk to YayaDUB in anticipation of the worst. “Matagal-tagal na panahon na nakasama ka namin. Mahal ka namin ng mga lola mo.” (You have been with us for such a long time. We your grannies love you very much.) YayaDUB and the rest of the grannies pressed for more info. And Lola Nidora is too confused to explain it the best way she could. The only thing clear to her now is the right time for YayaDUB. “Siguro ibigay na natin ang tamang panahon sa bata.” (Maybe it’s time to give the kid the right time.) So she just huddled with her sisters to come clean with the letter’s contents.
Donya Tinidora was then heard later saying “Ayoko! Ayoko! Kung ayaw mo, hindi rin ako sasama.” (I don’t want to. I don’t want to. If you don’t want to, I’m not going either.) Lola Nidora braced YayaDUB. “Yaya, eto na ang tamang panahon para sa inyo. Para sa yo at para kay Isadora.” (Nanny, this is the right time for you. For you and for Isadora.) The truck horn honked signaling the end of the ALDUB Together Again episode.
Just when everyone thought YayaDUB’s biological mother angle was shelved. Isadora’s letter arrived to mess with everyone’s heads. It was also the reason behind the arrivals of Donya Tidora and Donya Tinidora. Donya Tidora arrived in the ALDUB Love on Top episode. She tried to tell YayaDUB the truth. Apparently, the truth that Donya Tidora knew is different from what the third sister knew.
The third sister arrived in ALDUB Getting Closer episode and introduced herself as Donya Tinidora. And she admitted that she is not Divina’s biological mother. This is in contrast to what Donya Tidora thought all along. Lola Nidora had to admit that Divina’s biological mother is Isadora. But she had to do it with YayaDUB/Divina away. Now, Lola Nidora has confirmed the real Isadora’s arrival. Through a letter sent to her in the ALDUB Together Again episode.
On whether YayaDUB knew all along that her real mother is Isadora has yet to be seen. This makes her the Kalye’s Angels’ niece. It was slyly referenced in the ALDUB EB For Love episode by Donya Tinidora. Lola Nidora managed to shield YayaDUB away from Alden. Can she shield her away from Isadora this time around?
