ALDUB The Ring episode opens with Donya Tinidora dancing to Lou Bega’s “Mambo No. 5” But her zombie army of Cuando Cuando Cuando are absent. She cut her dance short to solicit some plastic bottles from the community. Most of the garbage collected consisted of plastic bottles anyway. Items collected would be donated to Eat Bulaga’s Plastic Ni Juan project. Albeit preoccupied, she found time to talk to the KalyeSerye commentators present this Monday.
They asked Donya Tinidora where the Cuando Cuando Cuando are. Donya Tinidora found it easy to explain. “Pagod sila kahapon. Yung iba kumakatok sa bahay. Nagagalit kasi hindi nakarating agad sa nitso.” (They are tired from yesterday. Others knocked on their homes’ doors. They got mad because they failed to make it home in time for the Day of the Dead.) Donya Tinidora found it fitting to leave this day to her zombie army. It’s All Souls Day on ALDUB The Ring episode. So she let her zombies do some soul-searching perhaps.
Speaking of souls, Donya Tidora appeared to the tune of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”. And she was seen dancing not with the Bernardo Bernardo Bernardo but with the white lady they found at the haunted house. It freaked out Donya Tinidora. Her Cuando Cuando Cuando doesn’t freak her out. But a white lady (Filipino slang for female ghost) does. “Bakit sinama mo pa yan?” (Why did you take her along?) Donya Tidora wasn’t even scared when she answered. “Classmate ko pala ito nung high school. Nagchikahan muna kami.” (This is my classmate in high school. We talked for a moment.) She didn’t get the opportunity to introduce the white lady to Donya Tinidora. But she mentioned that the white lady’s name is Michelle.
Donya Tinidora would usually recap Saturday’s episode, ALDUB Bahay Ni Lola, with Donya Tidora in ALDUB The Ring episode. But since all of them got possessed, she had trouble recalling them. Worse, Donya Tidora’s screams kept distracting her. “Ikaw talaga! Sigaw ka nang sigaw! Lalo akong ninenerbyos sa yo!” (You wretch! You keep screaming! I get more nervous with you.)
Apparently, Donya Tidora doesn’t remember much herself in ALDUB The Ring episode. She had to ask Donya Tinidora if Alden had the ring worn to YayaDUB. “Yung singsing? Naisuot ba?” (The ring? Was it worn?) Donya Tinidora was somewhat grumpy in her answer. “Hindi naisuot. Bumusina eh.” (She didn’t wear it. The horn honked off.) And Donya Tinidora’s sarcasm kicked in again. “Yung singsing walang butas.” (The ring didn’t have a hole.) Donya Tidora found that odd. “Ano yun? Pamato?” (What’s that? A chip?)
Soon Lola Nidora arrived with YayaDUB. Her non-apron look at ALDUB The Ring episode looks like she’s about to return to her privileged kid status. But everyone still calls her “Yaya”. Lola Nidora had bigger problems to worry about. “Etong si Yaya. Parang sinasapian. Tawa nang tawa! Ninenerbyos ako! Gamutin mo, Tinidora!” (It’s nanny. She seemed possessed. She keeps on laughing! I am nervous! Heal her, Tinidora!)
Donya Tinidora is known to resurrect the dead for her Cuando Cuando Cuando zombie army. Not for exorcising possessed nannies like YayaDUB. But she tried in case positive effects pop up. “Bigyan mo ako ng dahon.” (Give me some leaves.) The KalyeSerye commentators were a little worried which leaves could they be. “Ano ba yan? Dahon ng bayabas?” (What are those? Guava leaves?) Donya Tinidora had to make do with what is available onsite. The leaves haven’t touched YayaDUB. But Donya Tinidora saw the effect. “Hindi ko pa nadidikit, nangingisay na.” (I haven’t damped the leaves yet, and nanny had a seizure.)
YayaDUB can still DUBsmash in ALDUB The Ring episode. But it sounded like Chipmunks. Donya Tinidora concluded her observations. “Hindi sinasaniban! Kinilig lang nung Sabado.” (She’s not being possessed. She’s just giddy from Saturday’s episode.) Lola Nidora was too weak to feel angry. But she chastised YayaDUB just the same. “Wow! Ang tindi mo! Kinikilig ka pa?” (You’re extreme! You’re still giddy?)
Alden then appeared and cause the seizures to die down. Donya Tinidora immediately saw this in ALDUB The Ring episode. “Ayun! Natahimik!” (There! It pacified her!) YayaDUB DUBsmashed to Carol Banawa’s “Bakit Di Totohanin”. Alden replied by DUBsmashing Silent Sanctuary’s “Sa Yo”. YayaDUB’s eyes gave the grannies the idea that she hasn’t fully recovered yet. Her eyes were spotless white. Donya Tinidora had to call her several times to ground herself to the present day.
Lola Nidora reminded YayaDUB to act the part of a “dalagang Pilipina” (Philippine maiden). Alden quickly asked YayaDUB. “Meng, okay ka lang?” (Meng, are you okay?) YayaDUB replied. “Okay na ko. Nakita kasi kita.” (I’m okay now. Because I saw you.) The giddy feeling was figuratively spitting out of her pores. It made everyone feel giddy too.
YayaDUB then thanked Alden for accompanying her and the grannies at the ALDUB Bahay Ni Lola episode. “Salamat nung Sabado. Niyakap mo pa talaga ako.” (Thanks for last Saturday. You even hugged me.) Alden was happy to do it. Later he DUBsmashed Jay-R Siaboc’s “Hiling”. YayaDUB replied by DUBsmashing Maja Salvador’s “Kilig”. Donya Tinidora tried singing along to the latter’s DUBsmash track and ended up garbling the lyrics in ALDUB The Ring episode.
Lola Nidora could finally sigh some relief. “Ngayon lang ako nakahinga. Kala ko napo-possess.” (I could only breathe now. I thought you’re being possessed.) She then acknowledged Alden’s presence in ALDUB The Ring episode. “Alden, hijo, ingatan mo ang singsing. Tandaan mo ang nakasaad sa liham. Nasa iyo ba yung liham?” (Alden, son, take good care of the ring. Remember what’s written in the scroll. Do you still have the scroll?) Alden said yes. Lola Nidora then asked for the contents of the scroll.
Alden then read the scroll. Part of it read. “Ibigay mo ito sa taong gusto mong alayan ng pag-ibig na wagas at walang katapusan. Isuot ang singsing upang ipaalala na mayroon naman talagang tunay na pag-ibig.” (Give it to the person whom you wanted to offer love eternal and endless. Wear the ring to be reminded that true love really exists.) Lola Nidora’s tone towards Alden was congratulatory in ALDUB The Ring episode. “Kung sinuman ang pagbibigyan mo ng singsing na yan ay napakaswerte.” (Whoever receives that ring from you will be very lucky.)
Lola Nidora continued on her sermon to YayaDUB. “Ikaw naman, Yaya. Kanina mo pa ko tinatakot. Hindi lahat ng oras, magkasama kayo ni Alden. Pero sa puso iisa ang tinitibok.” (And you, nanny. You’ve been scaring me since awhile ago. You cannot always be with Alden. But in your hearts, there is only one heartbeat.) Lola Nidora then checked with her if she has visited her mother’s grave. YayaDUB said yes.
Lola Nidora’s phone rang. She could hardly hear the other person on the line. It was choppy transmission from where she sat. When the line was cut off, she tried calling the number that showed on her caller ID. No answer. She said that the other line was ringing. She had to tell the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio to get the landline. This phone call in ALDUB The Ring episode didn’t seem alarming to Lola Nidora.
Donya Tinidora was just waiting for the go signal for the Sugod Bahay errand. While waiting, she somewhat hinted that YayaDUB capitalized on the blackouts last Saturday. “Naghihintay ng brownout.” (She’s waiting for the lights off.) YayaDUB found it hard to keep Donya Tinidora quiet in ALDUB The Ring episode. “Wag kayong maingay. Sikreto lang natin yun.” (Don’t be noisy. It’s our secret.) And the habit of calling the Sugod Bahay winner to where the entourage hung out is back. Looks like some security measures has officially affected the Sugod Bahay errand.
After the Sugod Bahay errand. Lola Nidora was seen atop a ladder listening on her phone. If she could only go atop a roof for better signal, she would in ALDUB The Ring episode. “Hello? Eto umakyat ako. Hindi, kausap ko mga kapatid ko.” (I climbed. No, I’m talking to my siblings.) Donya Tinidora felt tempted to shock Lola Nidora at ALDUB The Ring episode. “Tingnan ko kundi ka magulat diyan.” (Let’s see if you don’t get shocked there.)
Lola Nidora was listening intently on the phone. Donya Tinidora saw her shorts. “Ang ganda ng cycling mo. Maong.” (Yung cycling shorts looked lovely. Denim.) She then alighted the ladder that Donya Tinidora usually climbed. The crowd close by went “Wooooo!!!!!” Lola Nidora quipped. “Ang daming Regine dito!” (So many Regine clones here!) It did not escape her gaze the sight of Alden whispering something to YayaDUB. “Ano ba yang pinagbubulungan nyo ni Alden?” (What are you whispering about with Alden?”
Alden replied for YayaDUB at ALDUB The Ring episode. “Lola, pinaguusapan lang po namin ang weeksary namin sa Thursday.” (Granny, we’re just talking about the Thursday weeksary.) Lola Nidora found the couple too excited for their 16th weeksary. “Lunes pa lang, weeksary na agad? Saka na muna yang kilig kilig na yan!” (It’s only Monday and you’re thinking about the weeksary? Get on the giddy feeling some other time!) The phone rang again.
Lola Nidora got to talk with the person with the choppy line. “Hello. Ayan, malinaw na. Kanina nasa bubong ako. Opo. Ngayong linggo po darating kayo? Okay lang naman po. Nakakatuwa naman. Ganundin po kami.” (Hello. There, it’s clear now. Awhile ago I was at the rooftop. Yes. You’d be arriving this week? We’re okay. That’s nice. Same with us here.) Donya Tinidora didn’t want any of the BS in ALDUB The Ring episode with Lola Nidora. “Wag mo kaming idamay. Ikaw lang ang may kausap.” (Keep us out of that. You’re the only one being talked to.) Lola Nidora ended the call in a half-pleasant tone.
Later in ALDUB The Ring episode, the sisters were seen whispering each other about the call. Then they whispered it to YayaDUB too. YayaDUB then whispered it to Alden. Only the KalyeSerye commentators were clueless as to what’s happening. Lola Nidora just exclaimed. “Darating na siya!” (He/She is coming!) The truck horn honked signaling the end of ALDUB The Ring episode. The KalyeSerye commentators felt cheated at another cliffhanger.
Who could it be? Will it be a new character or another alter ego? Ever since Paolo Ballesteros became Isadora, it signaled less chances for any new “actors”. Not that going beyond Alden, YayaDUB and the Kalye’s Angels meant nothing new anymore. But getting Alden into the secret meant a bigger role for his fictional version in the future.
