#ALDUBTheDecision [Featured image from Eat Bulaga Facebook page] ALDUB The Decision episode opens with the KalyeSerye commentators showing some plastic chairs in the studio. They were manufactured using the plastic bottle donations collected in the Juan For All All For Juan segment at Eat Bulaga. The chairs were basically the advocacy in Eat Bulaga long before the ALDUB euphoria came along. So in essence. Eat Bulaga is the noontime variety show program. Juan For All All For Juan is the segment. And the KalyeSerye is the portion that overlaps with the Sugod-Bahay portion. Overall it’s a nice mix.
But in ALDUB The Decision episode, the barangay area where the KalyeSerye cast is still not revealed. Incidents of unscrupulous individuals finding their way to the winners’ homes to scam Sugod Bahay winners need to be lessened. If not avoided altogether. Also, the management need to keep the enigma around Maine Mendoza by making her inaccessible. It’s old school talent management at work. But the KalyeSerye cast still managed to keep the story flowing appropriately.
Jose Manalo’s narrator/voice-over alter-ego Gasgas throws the questions early in ALDUB The Decision episode. He usually shows up after the truck horn honks. Questions left from the ALDUB Switch episode are addressed. But being the narrator, he can’t provide the answers. So Donya Tinidora makes her presence felt in no time with a little bit of Monica in ALDUB The Decision episode.
Donya Tinidora recovered quickly from Saturday’s fall. If you remember seeing the ALDUB Meets TVJ episode. You would remember the off-cam fall. Donya Tinidora sprained her foot. And she had trouble dancing in the ALDUB Switch episode. But in ALDUB The Decision episode, her strength and vitality are back. Bossing Vic commented. “Parang di na masakit ah.” (Seems like it’s no longer painful.) Donya Tinidora replied. “Puede na ulit malaglag.” (I can fall again.)
Donya Tidora is also back from the hellish appearance from the ALDUB Switch episode. A good bath and shaved face greeted ALDUB The Decision episode viewers. Donya Tinidora suspected that Donya Tidora had another nip tuck. “Panay ang pabatak nito.” (She always gets a facial nip tuck.) Donya Tidora’s vocalization exercises belied Donya Tinidora’s suspicions though. Otherwise, she would have difficulty with the mouth movements for the vocal histrionics.
Vocal histrionics served as the best description for Donya Tidora’s newfound passion. It also helped that there is a new piano at home. In ALDUB The Decision episode, she somewhat bragged the ruckus that her vocalization caused. “Ang ingay ingay sa mansion. Yung mga manok sa mansion nagsilayasan na.” (It’s so noisy at the mansion. The roosters at the mansion left.) Donya Tidora’s voice lessons were so boisterious. Donya Tinidora didn’t see the need for the morning roosters.
Lola Nidora arrived shortly with the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio. She danced to the tune of “Dessert”. She got a little upset at seeing the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio just stand there while she danced. “When I dance, you dance. Good for your health.” ALDUB The Decision loomed in the background after seeing Lola Nidora arrive without Alden. She then turned to Donya Tidora. “Tidora, malayo pa kami, naririnig ko na ang boses mo.” (Tidora, we’re still far from here. And I can hear your voice.)
Donya Tidora changed the topic. “Wala ba yung matipunong naglilingkod sa yo kahapon?” (Are you not with your muscled up servant yesterday?) Lola Nidora chose to discuss the current roster of Rogelios instead. “Alam mo, Tidora. Sapat na yung mga Rogelio ko. Nagiging alert na rin sila. Nag-improve naman after 5 years.” (You know, Tidora. My Rogelios are enough. They’re becoming alert. They have improved after 5 years.) No mention in ALDUB The Decision episode either on whether Alden’s voluntary servitude is over. (Too soon? Whatever happened to “panunuyo”?)
In ALDUB The Decision episode. Donya Tinidora then asked where is YayaDUB. Before Lola Nidora could answer. Donya Tidora commented how YayaDUB looked fresh on Broadway. Must have been the air-conditioning. Lola Nidora mentioned how centralized the air-con is. “Kulob naman kasi ang lamig doon.” (The coolness there surrounds the place.) Donya Tinidora found herself looking fresh too despite the scorching heat. “Fresh na fresh, parang bagong hukay.” (I’m so fresh like fresh from the grave.)
Lola Nidora didn’t mind having YayaDUB anywhere she wanted for now. “Naalagaan ko naman ang sarili ko.” (I can take care of myself.) Allan K spoke in behalf of the Eat Bulaga crew that nurtured YayaDUB during her stay. “Naaalagaan namin si Yaya dito.” (We took care of nanny here.) It seems like Lola Nidora is telling herself the possibility of losing her nanny. It immediately got her sisters skeptical at ALDUB The Decision episode.
Donya Tinidora was blunt in her observations at ALDUB The Decision episode. “Pag-inom nga lang ng gamot di mo na alam. Kumakain nga, sinusubuan ka pa.” (You can’t even handle taking your medication. Whenever you eat, she even spoon-feeds you.) Donya Tidora agrees. “Kulang na nga lang, inguya ka ni Yaya eh.” (Nanny is a step short of chewing the food in your behalf.)
In ALDUB The Decision episode. Lola Nidora came clean about the drama. “Lambing lang yun. Dapat hindi tayo dependent sa kahit kanino. Dapat kaya natin alagaan ang mga sarili natin with or without Yaya.” (I’m just trying to be sweet. But we should not be dependent on anyone. We should know how to take care of ourselves with or without nanny.) She even entertained the idea of losing the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio. “Pati mga Rogelio, puedeng mawala. Wag lang kayong mga kapatid ko.” (Even the Rogelios. I can afford to lose them. As long as it’s not you, my sisters.) Boss Joey can’t help but mutter under his breath. “Plastic!” (Plastic is Filipino slang for hypocrite.)
Just as Lola Nidora was done talking, something caught her throat. She then reached for one of the Rogelios for the appropriate medication. But the poor bodyguard can’t find any on Lola Nidora’s bag. Seems like Lola Nidora’s words at ALDUB The Decision episode were quickly put to the test. She was livid (again) at the Rogelio’s inefficiency. No Alden to reach for the medicine kit. All that Donya Tidora could do is scream. “Yaya!”
And lo and behold! YayaDUB is just close by. YayaDUB is basically Lola Nidora’s lifeline. So Lola Nidora’s own words of learning how to take care of herself went down the hypocrisy bin again. Lola Nidora got her medication back. So now that ALDUB The Decision is finally revealed. Where is Alden? Lola Nidora’s answer is limited to one word: busy. Again, she swept the topic under the rug and turned to YayaDUB. “Okay lang naman kung si Yaya ulit.” (It’s okay if it’s nanny again.)
Seeing YayaDUB back finally made Lola Nidora admit about her real thoughts. She gave the pros of Alden’s service at the ALDUB Switch episode. And she gave the cons of Alden’s service at ALDUB The Decision episode. “Kelangan si Alden, pagsabihan. Yung pagpaypay, masyadong OA. Electric fan binigay.” (With Alden, he needs to be told what to do. He overreacted with the fan. He used an electric fan instead.) And YayaDUB is back to DUBsmashing on the road. Lola Nidora interpreted it as YayaDUB being happy at seeing her best friend, YayaLUVS at the Eat Bulaga studios.
Shortly, YayaLUVS appeared on the other monitor at Alden’s den. Still no Alden at ALDUB The Decision episode.. She then DUBsmashed Nora Aunor’s line from the film “Himala” (Miracle). Donya Tinidora muttered under her breath. “Walang himala pero may apple sa bibig.” (There is no miracle. But there’s an apple on the mouth.) Lola Nidora found YayaLUVS amusing. “Ngayon lang ako nakakita ng nagda-DUBsmash habang ngumunguya.” (It’s my first time to see someone DUBsmashing with food in her mouth.)
Seeing YayaLUVS confirmed YayaDUB’s hunch. No Alden on the road. No Alden in the Broadway Centrum building. No Alden at all at ALDUB The Decision episode. Lola Nidora was quick to remind YayaDUB. “Hindi araw-araw, kilig. Hindi araw-araw, masaya. Wala lang si Alden, malungkot na yang mukha mo.” (Not everyday is giddy. Not everyday is happy. Just because Alden is not around, you sport a sad face.) YayaDUB was inconsolable.
[Sounds like Lola Nidora spoke about the critics that kept on complaining how ALDUB is all about the giddyness and nothing more. She was one step short of showing the plastic chairs again. Also, it’s a way to plug the Bulaga Pa More Grand Finals where YayaDUB is a finalist. Then again, if ever there is one character in ALDUB The Decision that can address best complaints about the hit KalyeSerye. It would be Lola Nidora.]
Lola Nidora shifted to the Bulaga Pa More Grand Finals this Saturday. YayaDUB tried to DUBsmash “I’m So Excited”. But the excitement did not reach her face. YayaLUVS tried to make her smile. YayaDUB can draw a smiling girl on her clipboard. But she can’t transpose that smile on her own face. YayaLUVS tried another DUBsmash to make YayaDUB laugh again using another Nora Aunor film. “My brother is not a pig! Ang kapatid ko ay tao!” (My brother is human!) Boss Joey tried to chip in some laughter too. “My father is a de leche.”
ALDUB The Decision? Lola Nidora then had to give it straight to YayaDUB. “Decision ko, dito ka lang sa tabi ko. Ibinuhos mo kasing lahat. Yaya, magtira ka naman ng para sa amin. Wag puro Alden.” (My decision is you stay by my side. Problem is you poured it all out [on Alden]. Nanny, leave some for us. Doesn’t always have to be Alden.) Lola Nidora’s possessiveness is getting the better of her again.
While she mentioned her observation about YayaDUB being a little too-Alden-centric. She forgot how Donya Tidora and Donya Tinidora were basically pushing for the ALDUB couple to be happy in ALDUB The Decision episode. Surely, Donya Tinidora’s temper almost got the better of her due to YayaDUB’s refusal to be happy. Then again, it is easy for Donya Tinidora and Donya Tidora to push YayaDUB to Alden. It makes them happy too. It’s just Lola Nidora who’s being possessive. She admitted that she only had a nanny lately anyway if you would look back at the ALDUB Love on Top episode.
Even the roundly chubby kid Baste had to come into Alden’s den to make YayaDUB happy. He sang a couple of songs and even talked to the Kalye’s Angels. This gave Donya Tidora an idea to resume her voice lessons with YayaDUB. She helped her with the “Do Re Mi” warm-up. Still no voice at ALDUB The Decision episode. Donya Tidora then told YayaDUB. “Kunin mo sa mo ang boses mo.” “(Get your voice from the bag.) Apparently, YayaDUB is still not in control of her voice. It doesn’t come out when the Kalye’s Angels are asking her to.
Donya Tinidora’s sarcasm kicked in. “Ang bilis mo matuto! Wag mo na ituloy ang singing career mo!” (You are a quick study! Don’t push through with your singing career!) In ALDUB The Decision episode. YayaDUB can’t sing. So she just whispered to Lola Nidora again. Knowing that saying no would not suffice. Lola Nidora said. “Hindi puede! Hindi puede!” (No way! No way!) Boss Joey then spoke. “Hindi ba puedeng i-share yan? Para malaman ng bayan?” (Can’t it be shared? That the nation may know?)
Lola Nidora tried to walk out again from YayaDUB. “Alam mo, diyan ka kay Tidora. Mag-voice lessons ka diyan!” (You know, stay with Tidora. Get some voice lessons!) Donya Tinidora didn’t let Lola Nidora get away with another walk-out. “Alam mo kapag nalulungkot ka, dinadamay mo kami!” (You know whenever you are sad, you drag us down with you.) Lola Nidora wanted to get the Sugod Bahay segment done. Bossing Vic haven’t even drawn lots for ALDUB The Decision episode’s winner. Donya Tinidora then accompanied Lola Nidora once Bossing Vic had chosen a winner.
Back to ALDUB The Decision episode. YayaDUB again sung “In places no one will find”. It was a line from Mandy Moore’s “Cry”. Lola Nidora seemed pleased. “Dahil naka-focus ka. Wala kang iniisip. Madali mong nakukuha ang tinuturo sa yo. Alden has to grow. I need to grow. Hindi puedeng pakilig-kilig na lang.” (Because you are focused. You’re not thinking of anything else. You immediately learned what you are taught. Alden has to grow. I need to grow. It’s not always about being giddy.)
Still no Alden at ALDUB The Decision episode. Lola Nidora sensed that YayaDUB is still waiting for him. “Wala pa si Alden. Nagseselos na kaming mga lola mo kasi lagi na lang si Alden dina-DUBsmash mo.” (Alden is still not here. We grannies are starting to get jealous. You always DUBsmash for Alden.) But YayaDUB hasn’t forgotten her whispered request to Lola Nidora. And the answer is still no. “NO! NO! NO!”
Lola Nidora was so pissed off that she ended up yelling what YayaDUB whispered to her. “Ayokong isali mo ako sa Bulaga Pa More! Contest mo yun!” (I don’t want you to take me to Bulaga Pa More! It’s your contest!) The answer is still no when the truck horn honked marking the end of ALDUB The Decision episode.
