In the ALDUB Story Continues episode, Lola Nidora just realized how difficult it can be to find another domestic helper. Surely at first it seems like just a search for another nanny. But with the search getting the wrong applicants. Donya Tinidora and Divina themselves have to join Lola Nidora in searching for the next “yaya” (nanny). As of the ALDUB Story Continues episode, the terms “yaya” and “kasambahay” (domestic helper) are interchangeably used.
The grannies had an applicant who thought she’s applying for a singing job. Another one applied with dancing as her talent. So many applicants and still no one made the cut. And the ALDUB Story Continues episode is the second day of applications. Lola Nidora ended up discussing about Dok Dora’s visit at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Si Dora. Nakaka-miss ang batang yan. Binigyan niya ako ng chewyble.” (I miss that kid. She gave me a chewable.)
Donya Tinidora was just as pleased with Dok Dora. “Very good talaga yang bata na yan. Iniwan niya yung mga gamot ko.” (That kid is really wonderful. She left me with my medicine too.) Lola Nidora verified if Dok Dora gave Donya Tinidora some medicine too. “Binigyan ka ba?” (She gave you some?) Donya Tinidora confirmed it. “Oo. Mabisa naman. At malakas na malakas na ako.” (Yes. It’s effective. Now I’m very healthy.) Lola Nidora was pleased at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Buti naman ano?” (Well and good, isn’t it?)
And Divina? Well, she arrived to the tune of Rihanna’s “Work”. [It seems like “Work” is about to replace “Fantastic Baby” as the other main dance anthem in the KalyeSerye as heard on the ALDUB Story Continues episode.] Lola Nidora can’t help but ask Divina. “Ano ba mineryenda mo at ganyan ka ka-energetic?” (What have you eaten and you’re that energetic?) Divina downplayed her energy at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Energetic lang po talaga ako. Kamusta po yung mga applicants?” (I’ve always been energetic. How are the applicants?)
Donya Tinidora sounded a little exhausted. “Hay naku! Wala pa kaming nakukuha.” (Oh my! We haven’t chosen anyone yet.) Lola Nidora echoed Donya Tinidora’s frustrations at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Nahihirapan kami. Siempre. Kelangan namin ng kasinggaling mo.” (We are having difficulty. But of course. We’re looking for someone as good as you.) Divina felt a little shy. “Lola, nahihiya naman po ako. Wala naman po akong masyadong talent eh.” (Now I feel shy. I don’t have that much talent anyway.)
Lola Nidora disagreed. “Wala? Eh galing mo ngang sumayaw ngayon eh.” (No talent? You were great at dancing lately.) Divina wasn’t very confident though. “Lola, nahihiya ako.” (I am shy.) But the moment Rihanna’s track “Work” start playing in the background, she started dancing. Donya Tinidora was impressed at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Yan ang mga hinahanap namin sa yaya. Habang nagsasayaw, naglilinis ng floor.” (That’s what we’re looking for in a nanny. The kind that sweeps the floor while dancing.)
Divina found Donya Tinidora’s comment as a little too gratuitous. “Grabe naman po kayo, lola.” (That was too much, granny.) Donya Tinidora even supported her statement further. “Marunong din yan kumanta.” (She can sing too.) Lola Nidora agreed. “Oo.” (Yes.) Divina was hesitant to sing. “Lola, ayoko po.” (Granny, I don’t want to.) But it didn’t take long for her to sing at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “I don’t wanna close my eyes. I don’t wanna fall asleep. Coz I’d miss you, babe, isang ngiti mo lang. Para na kong-”
That’s when Donya Tinidora realized that Divina was already singing a different song at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Hoy! Hindi ganyan yung kanta na yun.” (Hey! That’s now how that song goes.) Divina justified the change of lyrics though. “Lola, nabago na po. Kanina sabi ni teacher.” (Granny, it was already changed. The teacher just noted awhile ago.)
Lola Nidora then remembered other talents that Divina has. “Pati pag-arte. Magaling itong apo natin.” (Even in acting. Our grand-niece is very good at it.) Divina felt conscious again at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Lola, wag kayong ganyan.” (Granny, stop it.) Shortly, Maine Mendoza’s most intense scene at the EB God Gave Me You Lenten Episode was relived by Divina. “Stop being selfish! You did this for you! Para gumaan ang loob mo! Para mabawasan yung guilt na nararamdaman mo. Yun lang. Thank you.” (So that you would feel better! So you would unload the guilt within you. That’s it.)
Donya Tinidora was so moved to tears. Lola Nidora had to remind Donya Tinidora that’s it’s just an act. “Umarte lang yung apo mo.” (Your grand-niece is just acting out.) Donya Tinidora looked at Lola Nidora. “Ang tanda mo na. Sinisigawan mo pa ako.” (You’re so old. Yet you’re still yelling at me.) Divina then apologized to Donya Tinidora. “Lola, sori po.” (Granny, I’m sorry.) Bossing Vic even had to talk it out with Donya Tinidora too at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Acting lang yun.” (It’s just an act.)
Donya Tinidora then relived her own Eat Bulaga Lenten episode. “Wag mo kong igaya sa lola mo na kayang kaya mong utuin! Umalis ka rito!” (Don’t think that I’m like your other granny that you can dupe! Get out of here!) She almost hit Divina herself. Lola Nidora had to restrain her back to reality at the ALDUB Story Continues episode.
Bossing Vic tried feeding some questions too. “Ano pa alam niya?” (What else does she know?) Donya Tinidora relayed the question to Divina. “Ano pa alam mo?” (What else do you know?) Lola Nidora already thought of how talented Divina is. “Napakagaling mo talaga. Maalaga. Mapagmahal. Kaya mahal na mahal ka ni ano eh.” (You are really good at what you do. You are nurturingg. You are loving. No wonder he loves you so much.) Donya Tinidora tried to finish Lola Nidora’s sentence at the ALDUB Story Continues. “Ni Alden.” (Loved by Alden.) It perplexed Divina. “Hala.” (What the?)
Alden then appeared on the other monitor while DUBsmashing to Dingdong Avanzado’s “Mahal Na Mahal Kita”. Then Alden greeted. “Hello, Divina.” Divina replied. “Hello, Alden.” Alden then mentioned Divina’s dance video in Boracay. “Nakita ko yung work work.” (I saw the Work dance.) Divina invited Alden to dance too at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Ganun dapat. Sabayan mo ko, Alden. Baka kaya mo din yung ganun.” (That should be how you would dance it. You might realize that you can do it.) Alden agreed. “Sige nga.” (Okay.) Alden then danced on the floor like Divina did at the ALDUB Story Continues episode.
Divina then had to stop. “Lola! Ah!” Lola Nidora wondered why Divina laughed loudly upon calling the grannies. “Ano? Ano yun?” (What? What happened?) Divina claimed seeing something. “May nakita po akong hindi kaaya-ayang bagay sa ilalim ng lamesa.” (I saw something unpleasant under the table. Alden laughed hard at the ALDUB Story Continues episode upon realizing what it is.
Lola Nidora had to find the words to describe what Divina allegedly saw. “May pusa?” (A cat?) Divina just agreed to avoid worse metaphors at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “May pusa pong itim.” (There’s a black cat.) Donya Tinidora tried to be coy about it. “Hindi na naman tayo nakapaglinis ng bahay.” (We failed to clean the house again.) Lola Nidora suddenly remembered their pets at the mansion. “Kaya kumakahol yung mga Doberman eh.” (No wonder the Dobermans are barking.)
Bossing Vic tried to use a different term though. “May daga?” (A rat?) Divina agreed with Bossing Vic too. “Opo. Meron po, Bossing. Itim po.” (Yes, there is. It’s black.) Ruby thought about the cleanliness of the place too. “Hindi ba nakapagwalis diyan?” (Haven’t you swept the floor there?) It was an awkward situation to address at the ALDUB Story Continues episode.
Alden tried to change the topic with Divina. “May naalala ka ba sa Lenten special na eksena natin?” (Do you remember some scenes we had at our Lenten special?) Divina replied although Alden might be referring to Maine at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Meron naman. Bakit?” (I remember some. Why?) Alden then asked. “Ano naman ang gusto mong ulitin ko?” (What would you like me to reenact?) Divina thought first which one. “Ah yung huli?” (The last one?) Alden agreed. “Oo. Yung dumating ako di ba? Game. Magkikita tayo ulit.” (Yes. The one where I arrived, right? We met again.)
Alden and Divina then reenacted the part where Dani and James met again after James’ stint in Europe. Later they reenacted the part where Dani confronted James about being selfish at the EB God Gave Me You Lenten special episode. Divina had to pause after seeing Donya Tinidora’s reaction at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Wait. Nagagalit na si Lola.” (Granny is upset.)
Alden then had a little request for Divina. “May ipapagamit ako sa ‘yong app mamaya. Or anytime mo gusto. Puede naman.” (I’d like you to use an app later. Or anytime you want. It’s fine.) Divina wondered and asked. “Anong APP?” (What app?) Alden replied. “Eh di APPelido ko.” (My “APPelido” [last name].) Divina found it funny. “Anytime ba talaga?” (Is that really ANYTIME?) Alden agreed at the ALDUB Story Continues episode.
It was then Divina’s turn to ask. “Alden, may tanong muna ako sa yo. Ano Tagalog ng ‘she can’?” (I have a question for you. What is “she can” in Tagalog?) Alden chose to ask back instead of answering at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Ano?” (What?) Divina then replied. “Eh di manok. Adodong she can.” (It’s [chicken]. Like [chicken adobo].) Later she backtracked on her laughter upon seeing Bossing Vic’s reaction. “Ay Bossing! Sori po.” (I’m sorry.)
Alden noticed how calm Bossing Vic was despite the initial upset reaction. “Pinainit mo na naman yung ulo.” (You got him hot-headed again.) Divina tried to negotiate. “Last na po yun.” (That would be my last [joke for today].) Alden then asked Divina at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Nakarinig ka na ba ng minamalat na puso?” (Have you heard a heart with a hoarse voice?) Divina replied. “Hindi pa.” (Not yet.) Alden explained. “Ako kasi yung puso ko, malat na eh.” (Well, my heart has a hoarse voice now.) Divina asked. “Malat? Bakit malat?” (Why hoarse?) Alden explained further. “Kasi kakasigaw ng pangalan mo.” (It kept screaming for your name.)
Divina tried to crack a joke again at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Alden, teka muna. Ano munang apelido ni Neil?” (Wait. What is Neil’s last name?) Alden tried to remember. “Si Neil.” Divina egged Alden to remember. “Oo. Si Neil.” (Yes, Neil.) Alden gave up and ended up asking Divina. “Ano?” (What is it?) He wasn’t prepared enought for Divina’s reply. “Si Neil Cutter.” (It’s Neil Cutter.) Divina laughed then paused midway after seeing Bossing Vic again. “Bossing, last na po yun.” (Bossing, that’s my last one.)
Because Divina can’t help it, she then asked Bossing Vic for another chance at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Bossing, meron po akong hinanda para sa inyo. Medyo mahaba-haba ng konti.” (I prepared a joke for you. It’s a little long.) Bossing Vic agreed. “Sige.” (Okay.) Divina then gave it a try. “Knock knock po.” Bossing Vic played along. “Who’s there po?” Divina prepared a long phrase for her knock knock joke. “Dustpan, electric fan, kaldero at pinggan.” Bossing Vic then prepared for what he’s about to hear. “Dustpan, electric fan, kaldero at pinggan who?” Divina then started singing. “Jingle bells. Jingle bells. Jingle all the way. All dustpan, electric fan, kaldero at pinggan. Hey!”
Alden laughed. But not without adding a little apology at the end for the visibly disappointed Donya Tinidora. “Lola, last na po yun.” (Granny, that’s the last one.) Lola Nidora got worried about Donya Tinidora again. “Okay ba pakiramdam mo?” (Are you feeling okay?) Donya Tinidora’s face was beyond upset. “Ayusin nyo buhay nyo.” (Get your lives in order.) Rogelio then comes in and whispers to Lola Nidora. Albeit hesitant. Lola Nidora obliged at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “O sige. Papasukin mo. Me maga-apply daw.” (Okay. Let her in. There was an applicant.)
The applicant was then allowed to enter. She handed her resume and introduced herself. “Hello. Hello po. Eto po. My name is Kit Marikit. Kahit kanino kumakapit. You can call me Yaya In.” (Here is my resume. My name is Kit Marikit. I stick to anyone.) Lola Nidora found her too fast of a talker. She has to ask again. “Ano pangalan?” (What’s your name?) Donya Tinidora just repeated it. “Yaya In.”
Lola Nidora remembered the sticking part of Yaya In’s introduction though at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Dapat tuko.” (She should be a newt instead.) Donya Tinidora had a different theory. “Mahilig sumama siguro kaya Yaya In.” (Maybe she liked going with random people hence Yaya In.) [“Yayain” meant inviting someone for any gimmick or hangout possible.]
Yaya In then started pitching herself. “Kunin nyo po ako. May pinag-iipunan po kasi ako. Kailangan ko po kasi siyang bilhin.” (Please take me in. I’m saving up for something. I need to buy it.) Donya Tinidora asked. “Ano pinag-iipunan mo, hija?” (What are you saving up for, dear?) Yaya In replied with her current goal as of the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Pampaputi po.” (Whitening products.)
Donya Tinidora saw how fair Yaya In is though based on what she saw at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Kulang pa ba yan?” (Isn’t that [white] enough?) Yaya In explained then. “Kasi po gusto ko pong maging Mumu In.” (I would like to be “Mumu In” [ghost white].) Donya Tinidora then hypothesized what Yaya In really wanted. “Mumu In. Gusto niyang maging aswang.” (So she wanted to be a monster.)
Lola Nidora then introduced herself and the people with her at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Ako nga pala si Lola Nidora. At ito ang aking kapatid, si Tinidora. At ito naman ang aming apo, si Divina.” (I am Lola Nidora. And this is my sister, Tinidora. And this is our grand-niece, Divina.) Donya Tinidora explained how Yaya In almost didn’t make it. “Dami pang naga-apply. Ayaw na naming tanggapin. Napapagod na nga kami. Pero nagpumilit kang pumasok.” (There are still so many applicants. We couldn’t accept them anymore. We’re getting tired. But you pushed your way in.)
Lola Nidora then introduced the KalyeSerye commentary panel present at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Doon naman sa studio, makikita mo si Marvic at si Ruby.” (At the studio, you will see Marvic and Ruby.) Yaya In greeted them too. “Hello. Hello po. Ako po si Yaya In. Yayain nyo po ako. Puede po ako kahit saan po. Puede po akong pumunta sa bahay nyo. Puede po akong pumunta sa opisina nyo. Puede po akong pumunta sa studio nyo. Kahit saan po.” (I am Yaya In. Please invite me over. I can fit anywhere. I can come over your house. I can come over your office. I can come over your studio. Anywhere.)
Donya Tinidora had to slow Yaya In down. “Sandali. Sandali. Pangalan lang tinatanong. Daming sinasabi.” (Wait. Wait. They’re just asking for your name. You talked too much.) Lola Nidora felt a little run over at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Para akong nag-jogging. Hinihingal ako.” (I felt like I jogged. I was panting.) Lola Nidora then introduced Alden once the camera panned over him. “At yan naman si Alden.” (And that’s Alden.)
Yaya In recited almost the same pitch on Alden. “Hello, Alden. Ang gwapo gwapo mo, Alden. Ako si Yaya In. Yayain mo ko sa bahay nyo.” (You’re so handsome, Alden. I am Yaya In. Invite me over to your house.) That almost snapped Divina. “Hoy! Hoy! Hoy! Akin na si Alden!” (Hey! Hey! Hey! Alden is mine!) Yaya In acknowledged Divina’s claim. “Sa yo. Pero baka yayain din ako.” (He’s yours. But he might invite me over.) Divina just relented “Sige.” (Okay.) Yaya In kept talking at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Ready na po ako. Puede na po akong magsimula. We’re ready. Let’s get together.” (I am ready. I can start now.)
Lola Nidora begged off some time from Yaya In “Sandali.” (Excuse me.) She then voiced her concerns to Donya Tinidora. She was apprehensive about Yaya In based on what she saw at the ALDUB Story Continue episode. Donya Tinidora felt like giving Yaya In a chance though. “Tingnan muna natin yung bata. Baka mamaya siya talaga hinahanap natin.” (Let’s check the kid first. She might be the one that we’re looking for.)
Lola Nidora minced no words though despite the hushed conversation she had with Donya Tinidora. “Sa daldal nito, parang siya na may-ari ng mansion eh.”She’s so talkative, she’s sounds like she owned the mansion.) Yaya In butted in thinking the grannies are done talking to each other. “I’m confident. Yes. Confidently beautiful with a heart.”
Donya Tinidora kept whispering to Lola Nidora at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Malakas ang backer niyan. Di natin puedeng siraan yan.” (She’s got a strong backer. We can’t badmouth her.) [Kitkat, the comedienne that played Yaya In, played the president’s secretary at the late morning TV series “Princess in the Palace”.]
Lola Nidora hopes for the best. “Sana talaga magaling.” (I really hope that she’s good.) Donya Tinidora went back to interviewing Yaya In. “Ano ba kaya mong gawin? Marunong ka bang sumayaw?” (What can you do? Can you dance?) Yaya In had a very detailed answer at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Ay naku! Ang galing galing ko pong sumayaw! Alam nyo po ba? Nag-aral ako sa mga dance workshop. Lagi nga po akong tinatawag ng mga teacher kasi ako po talaga nagtuturo.” (Oh my! I’m very good at dancing! Do you know? I’ve learned it from the dance workshops. The teacher would always call me since I should be the one teaching instead.)
Donya Tinidora almost threw the paperweight at Yaya In for being too talkative.“Sandali. Oo lang o hindi.” (Wait. Just yes or no.) Lola Nidora tried to calm her down. Donya Tinidora didn’t think Lola Nidora should be that worried at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Ate, hindi ako high blood. Pero naha-high blood ako sa kanya.” (Elder sister, my blood pressure is not high. But she makes my blood shoot up.)
Lola Nidora then had to ask the obvious. “Kasambahay ang hinahanap natin. Bakit kailangang marunong sumayaw?” (We’re looking for a domestic helper. Why does she have to be a good dancer?) Donya Tinidora used Divina as a barometer in looking for the next nanny. “Yaya nga natin, si Divina, marunong sumayaw. Sige, patingin natin nung sayaw mo.” (Our nanny, Divina, dances good. Okay, let’s see your dance.)
Yaya In tried to dance tai chi and a headstand [that failed]. Still she insisted at the ALDUB Story Continues episode that she’s a great dancer. “Ang galing galing ko pong sumayaw. Dun po sa school namin, sinasabi ‘Very good ka. Ang galing galing mong sumayaw. Ikaw na lang magturo sa mga kaklase mo’. Kasi.” (I’m really really great at dancing. At school, they were saying “You’re really good. You’re great at dancing. You should be teaching your classmates instead.” Because.)
Lola Nidora tried shushing down Yaya In eventually. “Siya. Siya. Siya. Magaling ka nang sumayaw. Kung kumanta naman, marunong ka bang kumanta?” (Okay. Okay. Okay. You’re good at dancing. When it comes to singing, can you sing?) Yaya In pitched herself again. “Lahat po ng mga singing contest, nasalihan ko na po. Nagcha-champion po ako lagi. Tapos lagi po akong mga award. Tapos top 10 po ako sa mga awarding. Pagdating po sa singing, ako po ang top 10.” (All possible singing contests, I’ve joined them. I’m always the champion. I always gets awards. I always make it to the top 10 of awarding ceremonies. When it comes to singing, I’m always in the top 10.)
Yaya In’s blabber was too much for Lola Nidora. She asked Divina. “Kunin mo nga yung sumpak ko sa likod.” (Get my homemade gun at the back.) Before Divina could follow Lola Nidora at the ALDUB Story Continues, she tried to stop Donya Tinidora from throwing the paperweight at Yaya In. “Lola!” (Granny!) Donya Tinidora snapped at Yaya In. “Kanta lang ang tinatanong namin. Oo o hindi.” (We’re just asking for a song. Yes or no.)
Yaya In tried to shorted her reply then. “Magaling po akong kumanta.” (I am good at singing.) Donya Tinidora then calmed herself. “Sige. Parinig.” (Okay. Let’s hear it.) Yaya In then sung Regine Velasquez’s version of “I’ll Never Love This Way Again”. Alden was impressed. “Galing.” (Very good.) It was a good confidence booster for Yaya In at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Thank you. Nagalingan po sila sa akin. Opo. Thank you. Thank you.” (They were impressed with me.) She started waving to the ceiling.
Divina checked the ceilings where Yaya In waved. “Wala namang tao dun.” (There wasn’t anybody there.) Lola Nidora addressed Yaya In directly at the ALDUB Story Continues episode instead. “Ano ba iniisip mo? Nasa Araneta Coliseum ka ba?” (What are you thinking? That you’re at the Araneta Coliseum?) Bossing Vic thought there’s an audience at the ceiling though. “Pumalakpak yung mga butiki.” (The house lizards clapped.) Divina admitted being impressed with Yaya In’s singing though. “Pero, lola, in fairness, magaling po siyang kumanta.” (But, granny, in fairness, she really sang good.) Yaya In thanked Divina. “Thank you po.” Donya Tinidora continued with her questions. “Ano pa alam mo?” (What else are you capable of?)
Yaya In started pitching her acting skills at this point in the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Marunong po akong umarte. Pag umaarte po ako, lagi pong sinasabi ng mga kapitbahay namin ‘Best Actress ka. Puede kang mag-artista. Kahit saan puede kang pumunta. Puede kang pumunta sa Eat Bulaga tapos kukunin ka nina Bossing. Maga-artista ka.’ Nung bata nga po ako, lagi akong sinasabihan. ‘Pumunta ka sa Eat Bulaga. Tapos sumali ka sa Little Miss Philippines.’ Tapos po sinasabi nila. ‘Pag umaarte ka, talagang dalang dala mo kami. Naiiyak talaga kami. Yung talagang di namin kinakaya ang mga eksena.’”
(I am good in acting. Whenever I act, our neighbors would always say “You’re the Best Actress. You can be an actress. You can go everywhere. You can go to Eat Bulaga then Bossing Vic would get you [as a talent]. Be an actress” The kids always say “Go to Eat Bulaga. Then join Little Miss Philippines.” Then they would say “Whenever you act, we really get carried away. We tear up. We end up failing to handle the situation.”)
Donya Tinidora stood up with a piece of Scotch tape in hand for Yaya In at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. Yaya In was interrupted with Donya Tinidora’s tape on her mouth. Divina reminded Donya Tinidora to restrain herself. “Lola, nage-explain pa po.” (Granny, she’s still explaining.) Donya Tinidora was fed up with Yaya In’s blabber. “Arte lang ang tinatanong namin. Oo lang o hindi. Sige. Tanggalin mo ang tape sa bibig mo. Ngayon umakting ka.” (We’re just asking about acting. Just yes or no. Now remove that tape from your mouth. Get acting.)
What Lola Nidora worried more is Donya Tinidora’s relapse. “Baka mamaya sumama na naman ang pakiramdam mo.” (You might feel bad health-wise again.) Donya Tinidora downplayed Lola Nidora’s concern. “Hindi. May gamot ako. Bigay ni Dora.” (No. I have the medicine. Dora gave it.) Yaya In then tried to act Dani’s part in her confrontation scene with James at the EB God Gave Me You Lenten special episode. She somewhat botched some lines. But she turned out okay at the ALDUB Story Continues episode.
Donya Tinidora tried changing the topic. “Hindi ka ba naiinitan diyan sa suot mo?” (Don’t you find your outfit sweat-inducing?) Yaya In agreed. “Naiinitan nga po ako. Wala po ba kayong aircon?” (I feel a little warm. Don’t you have some airconditioning?) Donya Tinidora suggested removing the blazer. “Tanggalin mo kasi ang damit mo para di masyadong mainit.” (Remove your blazer so it won’t be too hot.) Yaya In asked permission at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Puede ko po bang tanggalin? Nahihiya po ako eh.” (May I remove it now? I’m a little shy.)
Donya Tinidora turned to Lola Nidora. “Ate? Ano? Ikaw tinatanong namin eh.” (What now? We’re asking you.) Lola Nidora is undecided. “Ewan ko. Malay ko.” (I don’t know. What do I know?) Yaya In again begged to be taken in at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Tanggapin nyo na po ako. Kelangan ko po talaga magparetoke.” (Please accept me. I really need it for cosmetic surgery.)
Lola Nidora then asked the final question at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Marunong ka bang mag-DUBsmash?” (Do you know how to DUBsmash?) Yaya In described how good she was. “Marunong po. Alam nyo po? Idol na idol ko po si ma’am eh. Kasi talaga pong pagdating sa DUBsmash, ang galing galing niya eh. Talaga po akong laging nagpupunta sa YouTube. Tapos titingnan ko po lahat. Ang ingay ingay po. Ang sarap sarap po pakinggan.” (I know how. Do you know? Ma’am [Divina] is my idol. Because when it comes to DUBsmash, she’s really really good. I always go to YouTube. Then I check all of the clips. It’s so loud. It’s very good to listen to.)
Divina was shown DUBsmashing Yaya In’s fast line delivery. Donya Tinidora can’t wait for Yaya In to shut up though. “Titigil ka ba o sasapakin na talaga kita? DUBsmash lang ang tinatanong eh.” (Will you stop or should I hit you? We’re just asking about DUBsmash.) Lola Nidora tried to calm down her sister again. “Tinids, baka mamaya yung blood pressure mo.” (Tinids, your blood pressure please.)
It turned out to be Lola Nidora’s chance to snap. “Ikaw naman kasi.” (It’s your fault.) Divina had to calm down Lola Nidora at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Lola! Lola! Easy. Easy.” Donya Tinidora knew what to make Lola Nidora calm down. “Hindi ka na naman nag-ahit.” (You did not shave [your underarms] again.) It broke the ice for Lola Nidora. “Pasensiya.” (My apologies.) Donya Tinidora turned her attention back to Yaya In. “Oh. DUBsmash.” ([Start the] DUBsmash now.)
Yaya In then executed the Busta Rhymes DUBsmash attack plus Malaysian DUBsmash attack for good measure at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. Yaya In then took advantage of the opportunity to speak again. “Favorite ko po talaga mag-SLABsmash.” (SLABsmash is my favorite.) Alden heard her clear enough to comment. “SLABsmash?”
Yaya In continued whether she got the app’s name right or wrong. “SDUBsmash? Ang galing galing ko po talaga dun. Araw araw nyo po akong pa-SDUBsmash. Talagang magagawa ko po. Favorite ko po talaga STUBsmash. Maski anong music po ipapatugtog nyo, kayang kaya ko po.” (SDUBsmash? I’m really really good at that. I SDUBsmash everyday. I can really do it. STUBsmash is my favorite. You can play any music and I can do it very well.) Donya Tinidora let Yaya In talk long enough to deteriorate into verbal diarrhea at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Kala mo pipigilan kita ha?” (You thought I’d stop you, huh?)
Yaya In even tried to spell DUBsmash.“Tapos po yung spelling ng STUBsmash. S … D … Magaling po akong kumanta talaga. Tapos papaaktingin nyo po ako. Tanungin nyo pa po ano pa pong kaya kong gawin.” (STUBsmash is spelled as S … D …. I am really good at singing. Then make me act too. Ask me what else can I do.) Donya Tinidora let Yaya In. “Ano pa kaya mong gawin?” (What else are you good for?) Yaya In has reached redundant levels by this time at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Kahit ano pong gusto ninyo. Kayang kaya ko pong gawin.” (Anything that you want. I can do it.)
Finally, Donya Tinidora let it out. “Marunong ka ba ng mga gawaing bahay?” (Can you do housework?) Yaya In didn’t understand the question well at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Kasi po yung bahay po namin, karpintero po ang gumawa nun. So hindi ko po talaga kayang gumawa ng bahay.” (Well, our house was made by a carpenter. So I am not into housework.) Donya Tinidora almost yelled at Yaya In. “Hindi yun ang sinasabi ko. Gawaing bahay lang. Magluto. Maglaba. Maglinis ng bahay. Hindi ko sinabing ikaw ang magkumpuni ng bahay.” (That’s not what I’m referring to. House work. Cooking. Laundry. Cleaning the house. I didn’t say that you’d repair the house.)
Divina added. “Maglilinis. Ganun. Maglilinis ka lang. Mag-aayos ng mga gamit.” (Cleaning. Stuff like that. You’d just clean. Get things in order.) Yaya In’s blabber then slowed down at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. Sort of. “Ah, maglilinis kasi. Yung mga ganun. Hindi ko talaga masyadong gawain yun. Hindi ko talaga forte. Pero siempre pag tinuruan nyo naman ako, mabilis naman po akong matuto. At saka lahat ng sasabihin kaya ko naman pong gawin. Matiisin naman po akong bata. Magagawa ko. At saka masipag po ako. Kahit isang oras ang tulog ko.” (Cleaning. Stuff like that. I don’t really do those. It’s not my forte. But of course, if you would teach me, I learn quickly. And everything you say, I can do it. I am a diligent kid. I can do it. And I am industrious. Even if I have to sleep just an hour [in a day].)
Lola Nidora interrupted Yaya In’s blabber at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Marunong ka bang magluto?” (Can you cook?) Yaya In’s answer got Lola Nidora et al thinking further. “Magluto po. Hindi rin po masyado. Pero pag in-enroll nyo po ako dun sa mga culinary school. Yung mga magagandang school po, masasarap po ang mga mailuluto ko sa inyo. Talagang mage-enjoy po kayo everyday sa mga niluluto ko. Yung culinary school po sa may malayo. Sa may Taguig.” (Cooking. Not much. But if you would enroll me at the culinary school. The really nice schools, I can cook delicious food for you. You would really enjoy my dishes. I’d like the culinary school from afar. The one in Taguig.)
Donya Tinidora had to cut off Yaya In’s request. “Alam mo yung sahod mo pa lang. Pang-enroll mo pa lang, lubog na yung bahay namin sa laki.” (You know that your salary alone. For you to enroll [in Taguig], our house would sink financially [once we tried to sustain your culinary studies].) Lola Nidora threw another question at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Maglaba? Marunong ka bang maglaba?” (The laundry? Can you do the laundry?)
Yaya In tried to answer this the way she could at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Hindi rin po ako naglalaba. Pero pag tinuruan nyo po ako mag-ganyan-ganyan, kakayanin ko po kasi mahilig po talaga ako sa tubig. Totoo po niyan, swimmer po talaga ako. Talagang sa probinsya po. Magaling po talaga akong mag-swimming. Kasi mahilig po talaga ako sa tubig. Sigurado mabango po mga damit nyo. Bigyan nyo lang po ako ng panahon.” (I don’t do the laundry either. But if you thought me some moves, I can endure it since I like water. In fact, I am a swimmer. Like really in the province. I am excellent in swimming. Because I really enjoy the water. For sure your clothes will smell nice. Just give me time.)
Lola Nidora didn’t wait for Yaya In to finish at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Marunong ka bang tumikom ng bibig ng basta-basta?” (Do you know how to close your mouth just like that?) Yaya In had to admit it. “Naku, mahirap po kasi yun eh. Kapag tumikom po kasi ang bibig ko, basta na lang pong nagkakasakit ako.” (Well, that is hard. If I closed my mouth, I end up getting sick.) Yaya In was still talking fluff when Donya Tinidora whistled at her to stop.
Donya Tinidora asked Lola Nidora in a hushed tone. “Ano tingin mo kay Yaya In?” (What do you think of Yaya In?) Lola Nidora tried to be fair in her feedback. “Sa tingin ko, bibo naman. Masipag pero walang alam sa bahay.” (I think she’s very upbeat. She’s industrious but not very knowledgeable with housework.) Donya Tinidora had to ask for the decision as of the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Eh anong sasabihin natin?” (What should we tell her then?)
Lola Nidora took the cudgels from this point in the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Yaya In, we appreciate you for coming here. Alam ko talented ka. Handa ka namang matuto. Pero bigyan mo kami ng tamang panahon para makapag-usap kami ng kapatid ko tungkol sa mga qualifications mo.” (I know you’re talented. You’re willing to learn. But give us enough time to discuss with my sister your qualifications.)
Yaya In’s pitch started sounding like a sales pitch in hard-sell mode in this point. “Sana po mapag-isipan nyong ako talaga ang kunin nyo po. Kasi pag sumweldo po ako, papagawa po ako ng ilong.” (Hopefully you can think about taking me in. Once I get my salary, I would get a nose job.) Donya Tinidora stared at Yaya In’s nose at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Hindi pa ba gawa yan?” (That nose isn’t lifted yet?) Yaya In talked about her nose too. “Gawa na po. Mga 4 times pa lang po. Gusto ko po kasi, mga 8.” (It’s done. I’ve had 4 [nose jobs]. I would like to have as many as 8.)
Donya Tinidora had to christen Yaya In at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Dapat tawag sa yo, Yaya Pair.” (You should be called Yaya Pair.) Lola Nidora asked. “Bakit Yaya Pair?” (Why Yaya Pair?) Donya Tinidora explained. “Gusto magpa-repair ng ilong. Magpa-repair ng kung anu-ano.” (She’s like to repair her nose. And everything else.) Yaya In again begged the grannies. “Sana po ako na ang kunin nyo.” (I really hope that you’d take me.) Donya Tinidora seconded Lola Nidora’s ground. “Gaya nga ng sinabi ng ate ko, pag-iisipan namin. We’d just call you. Don’t call me, okay?” (Like what my elder sister said. We’d think about it.)
Lola Nidora emphasized Donya Tinidora’s reminder. “Don’t call us. We’d just call you. Tanggapin mo ito.” She then handed a slip to Yaya In. Divina explained it too in case Yaya In would insist herself again at the ALDUB Story Continues. “Ang ibig sabihin lang nina lola, kami ang tatawag sa yo kapag nakuha ka na namin. Mag-antay ka na lang.” (The grannies meant that we will call you once we have considered you. Just wait.)
Donya Tinidora then called Yaya In for a little surprise test. She checked if Yaya In can massage well. “Halika nga dito. Puedeng masahista itong batang ito.” (Come over here. This kid can be a masseuse.) Divina doesn’t remember massaging as part of the qualifications at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Pasok po ba sa qualifications ang pagiging masahista?” (Is the ability to massage part of the qualifications’ list?)
Donya Tinidora then asked Yaya In to stop. “Hindi kailangan ng mga lola. Pag-iisipan namin ha?” (The grannies doesn’t need it for now. We’d think about it.) Lola Nidora then called the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio to show Yaya In the door. “Ilabas nyo na si Yaya In.” (You may take away Yaya In.) One of the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio was enough to escort Yaya In out of the room at the ALDUB Story Continues episode.
With Yaya In out, Donya Tinidora heaved a sigh of relief. “Hay salamat.” (Thank goodness.) Even Bossing Vic felt Yaya In was too much to handle. “Parang napagod ako. Nakikinig lang ako. Napagod ako.” (It’s like I felt tired. I was just listening. I got tired.) Donya Tinidora missed the silence at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Tingin ko tapos na ang putukan ng Bagong Taon eh. Ang ingay ingay.” (It’s as if the New Year’s fireworks ended. It’s so noisy.) Lola Nidora felt relieved too. “Let there be peace.”
Donya Tinidora thought the day that covered the ALDUB Story Continues episode was stressful. “Ang daming nag-apply. Pero mahirap talaga maghanap ng bagong kasambahay.” (So many applicants. But it’s really hard to find a new domestic helper.) Divina felt optimistic about Yaya In though. “Pero okay naman po siya. Mukha naman po siyang masaya kasama sa bahay. Tingnan nyo po. Kapag wala po tayong magawa, meron po tayong mapaglilibangan. Mapapasaya niya po tayo.” (But she’s okay. Looks like she’s fun to be with at home. Look. If we’re bored, we have someone to entertain us. She can make us happy.)
Donya Tinidora thought otherwise. “Tulog na tayo. Daldal pa ng daldal. Wala na. Okay na kami.” (We’re already asleep. And she’s still talking. It’s done. We’re okay now.) An SUV horn was heard outside. Lola Nidora begged off at the ALDUB Story Continues episode. “Magpapahinga muna kami.” (We’d take a break first.) It wasn’t an applicant. It was the postman. Divina relayed the message as the postman didn’t have a microphone. “Sulat daw po para kay lula.” (A letter for the grannies.)
Lola Nidora later opened the envelope. It turned out to be an invitation. It named its recipients as “Donya Nidora Esperanza Zobeyala viuda de Explorer, Donya Tinidora Zobeyala and Divina Ursula Bukbukoba Smash”. [No mention of Donya Tidora Zobeyala.] It was an invitation for the 3rd EB Dabarkads Awards. Just as Lola Nidora displayed the invitation’s logo, the truck horn sounded off. Ending the ALDUB Story Continues on a cliffhanger.

Donya Tinidora through Ging Ging is mighty proud of the 3rd Annual EB Dabarkads Awards. “Buti nga may annual eh. Yung iba, hindi naga-annual.” (At least it’s annual. Other shows don’t even get to celebrate annuals.) What other snide remarks can be expected from Ging Ging then? Like our official Facebook page, The Philippines Web, to catch more episode recaps.
