[ALDUB Serendipity Featured Image from Eat Bulaga Facebook Page.] The ALDUB Serendipity episode opens with Donya Tidora sweeping. Donya Tinidora was atop a small table attaching the curtains. Lou Bega’s “Mambo No. 5” then played. But she can’t dance that much. “Dahan dahan lang ang sayaw. Umuuga ito.” (I have to dance carefully. This [narrow table] is shaky.) Donya Tidora wasn’t forgiving of the dirt she swept though. “Marami bang katipunero dito at ang daming punit na sedula?” (Are there Katipuneros in this house that tore their residence certificates here?)
Lola Nidora descended the staircase seeing her sisters cleaning at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Anong meron at may general cleaning? May fiesta ba? Busy’ng busy kayo.” (Whaddup with the general cleaning? Is there a feast? You’re so busy.) Donya Tinidora replied. “Baka mamaya kasi. Mapadalas ang bisita mo rito.” (You might end up with a visitor as often as you expected.) Lola Nidora asked who could it be. Donya Tinidora had to state the obvious. “Sino pa? E di si Alden.” (Who else? Alden, of course.)
[Whether the house they are cleaning at the ALDUB Serendipity episode is “the same apartment” they found at the ALDUB Bagong Simula episode or not is left to the discretion of the audience.] Lola Nidora then told Donya Tinidora. “Wala namang nasambit sa ‘kin na pupunta siya.” (He didn’t tell me that he’d come over.) Donya Tinidora’s sarcasm attacked anew. “Pag sinagot na siya ni Yaya, di lang bisita. Baka dito pa tumira yan.” (Once nanny answers yes, not only will there be visits. He might end up living here.)
Lola Nidora’s paranoia strikes again. “Anong sasagutin? Hindi puedeng mangyari yan.” (What answer? That cannot happen.) Donya Tidora reminded her of her exaggerated reaction again. Lola Nidora then remembered Divina’s condition that has yet to be revealed at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Di ba tinanong siya ni Alden kung ano kelangang gawin?” (Didn’t Alden ask her what he needs to do?) Donya Tinidora didn’t feel like taking it longer. “Go. Oo agad. Ganun.” (Just say yes immediately. Easy.)
As much as Lola Nidora’s neurosis is getting the better of her, she knew that she had to take it easy. “Di puede yun. Hayaan natin ang mga bata. Nagtitiwala ako sa decision niya. May tiwala ako sa kanya.” (That cannot be. Let the kids be. I trust in her decision. I trust her.) That’s when everyone remembered Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB. As soon as they started asking for her. Divina entered the scene and paid respects to the grannies at the ALDUB Serendipity episode.
Donya Tinidora felt like Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB is starting to learn the wrong lessons from Lola Nidora. “Puro condition. Luma na yan. Sagot na agad. Gumagaya ka dito sa lola mo, puro condition.” (Always with a condition. That’s outdated stuff. Answer yes quickly. You’re imitating your granny, always with a condition.) Lola Nidora interrupted Donya Tinidora at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Alam nyo, may dahilan ako noon. Kung wala yun, hindi natin malalaman ang kayang gawin ni Alden para sa kanya. Hayaan nyo si Divina sa kanyang paraan.” (I have reasons then. Without them, we will never know what Alden can do for her. Let Divina be with her way.)
Divina disagreed with Donya Tinidora’s assumption. “Ayaw ko lang naman po siyang madaliin. Saka ayaw ko naman po siyang pahirapan gaya ng pag-igib, ng pagtakbo sa EDSA, ng paglangoy sa swimming pool.” (I just don’t want to rush him. And I don’t want to make it hard for him like fetching water, running along EDSA [Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue], swimming by the pool.)
Divina almost enumerated the slave-driving tasks that Lola Nidora told Alden to do. Lola Nidora mentioned what Divina forgot. “E di banggitin nyo na rin yung plywood.” (Include the plywood.) Donya Tidora and Donya Tinidora agreed about Divina not making it that hard for Alden at the ALDUB Serendipity episode.
Alden then appeared with a DUBSmash track at the other monitor. It led to a DUBsmash exchange that included new tracks. An effort to be contemporary at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. [Let’s face it. There aren’t that many good songs as of late. So it’s quite a futile effort to be very new and current.] Since the DUBsmash exchange was brought back, so was the clipboard conversations. Lola Nidora had to remind them to use their microphones at the ALDUB Serendipity episode since writing took more time than expected.
Alden emphasized that he’s serious as shown on the clipboard exchanges. Donya Tinidora quipped. “Seryoso pala. Ba’t di kayo magpa-ICU?” (So it’s serious. Why not take it to the intensive care unit?) Divina went straight to asking Alden’s condition then. “Kumusta ka na? Nakatulog ka naman ba ng mahimbing?” (How are you? Did you sleep well?) Alden said yes at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. He then asked Divina. “Anong oras ka nagising?” (What time did you wake up?)
Divina replied. “Hindi ko maalala. Ikaw?” (I don’t remember. How about you?) Alden said that he woke up at 4am. Divina pried further. “Anong oras ka nakauwi?” (What time did you get home?) Alden said that it’s at 2am. The discussion then went to Alden’s pet. [It was obvious that they had another ad in the bag once the pet was discussed at the ALDUB Serendipity episode.] Alden shared a pet with her ad partner without mentioning which brand will it be.
Alden then asked if Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB had new jokes in store. Divina had to explain. “Wala nga akong jokes kasi busy ako sa pagaaral.” (I didn’t have any jokes since I was busy with my studies.) Alden came prepared at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Electricity ka ba?” (Are you electricity?) Divina asked why. Alden replied. “Kasi binibigyan mo ng spark ang buhay ko.” (Because you give sparks to my life.)
Lola Nidora then was asked again about the pet. Only she can ask both Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB and Alden about the alleged pet. Divina replied. “May pet po kasi kami kagabi. Ayun po. Inalagaan niya yung pet.” (We have a pet last night. So there. He was taking care of his pet.) Alden had to clarify what pet before the green jokes take hold into the ALDUB Serendipity dialogues. “Nagdala po kasi ako ng dog sa set.” (I brought a dog to the set.) Speaking of green jokes, Boss Joey de Leon can’t help himself again. “May balahibo ba yung pet mo? Kasi walang kwenta kung walang balahibo.” (Is your pet hairy? Because it’s useless when it’s not hairy.)
Lola Nidora then asked Donya Tidora. “Tidora, wala ka bang tanong sa pet niya?” (Don’t you have any questions about his pet?) Donya Tidora can’t think of any. “Tingnan ko na lang.” (I’ll just check it out.) Donya Tidora once brought her chou chou at the KalyeSerye. Lola Nidora hoped it would lessen raunchy rumors. “Naniniwala kayo sa chismis eh.” (You believe the rumors too much.) The DUBsmash exchange was inevitable since Alden used a line from his cover version of The Itchyworms’ original “Akin Ka Na Lang” (Be Mine Instead).
Divina replied with a DUBsmash track too. Maja Salvador’s “Dahan Dahan Lang”. Alden then switched to a rather risque pickup line at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Puede bang lumayas ka na sa harapan ko?” (Will you please get out of my face?) Divina didn’t ask why. She just stood up and left. Alden then tried to stop her though. “Sandali. Di pa ko tapos.” (Wait. I’m not done yet.) He even tried to coach her what to say. “Sabihin mo ‘Bakit po?’” (Say “Why, granny?”)
Divina did as she was told. “Bakit po, Lola?” (Why, granny?) Alden realized that Divina was taking the instructions a little too literally. So there’s Take 2 and Take 3 that occurred at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. Divina was a little light-headed in the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Bakit? Linawin mo. Magulo pa utak ko.” (Why? Make it clear. My head is a little hazy.)
Alden then repeated it. He was patient enough with Divina to say the pickup line again. “Puede bang lumayas ka na sa harapan ko?” ([Alternate loose translation.] Will you get away in front of me?) Divina replied by Take 6 at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Bakit?” (Why?) Alden then answered. “Para dito ka na sa tabi ko.” (So that you would be by my side.)
Bossing Vic was quick to parody Alden’s pickup line to Allan K. “Puede bang lumayas ka na sa harapan ko?” (Will you get out of my face?) Allan K asked why. Bossing Vic replied. “Naalibadbaran ako sa mukha mo eh.” (I get grossed out with your face.) Alden then told Divina that he’s ready. Divina asked him. “Ready saan?” (Ready for what?) Alden replied. “Sa condition mo.” (For your condition.) Lola Nidora had to tone down Alden and Divina for the meantime. “Mamaya na yung condition. Mag-Sugod-Bahay muna tayo.” (Later with the condition. Let’s take the Sugod-Bahay errand for the meantime.)
Donya Tinidora is worried that Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB might end up acting like Lola Nidora. “Yaya, baka pahirapan mo pa si Alden. Baka ipako mo pa sa krus.” (Nanny, you might make it hard for Alden. You might even crucify him.)Divina denied such evil thoughts. Lola Nidora just repeated to Donya Tinidora what she said earlier at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Hayaan nyo ngang mag-decision itong si Divina.” (Let Divina decide for herself.) They were slightly bickering among themselves when their Sugod Bahay winner finally arrived courtesy of Bossing Vic Sotto’s son, Vico.
After the Sugod Bahay errand. Alden was shown at the other monitor warming up on the treadmill. He was with Baste. The treadmill was slow to accommodate Baste’s speed. [Or lack of it.] Alden explained the warm-up routines at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Baka po kasi ka-level ng challenge ni Lola. Mabuti na pong makapag-ready.” (It might be in the same level of difficulty as that of granny. Might as well be ready.) Lola Nidora told her sisters to go back to cleaning the house. Knowing that Divina is still shy to say what the condition may be.
Divina took awhile to muster enough courage to tell Alden. “Ang totoo niyan, nasorpresa mo ko nung Sabado. Siempre dun sa tanong.” (The truth is you really surprised me last Saturday [at the ALDUB 6th Monthsary episode]. I was surprised with the question.) Alden made sure that he didn’t want to pressure Divina at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Sana malaman mo na hindi naman kita minamadali. Kaya gaya ng sinabi ko sa video, mahirap man, balewala yun.” (I hope [that I have made myself clear] that I am not rushing you. Like what I said in the [montage] video, even if it’s hard, it’s nothing.)
Alden was referring to the time he’d end up spending with Divina as the sweet fruit of his labors. “Kung papalarin, pati taon, madali kong haharapin yun. Basta andyan ka.” (If we last even years, I can face [your conditions] easily. As long as you’re there.) Divina promised that it won’t be that hard. “Habaan mo pasensya mo. Di kita pahihirapan.” (Be patient even more. I won’t make it that hard for you.)
Divina had apprehensions. But there’s no turning back at the ALDUB Serendipity episode. “Gusto ko sana, seryosong sagot. Pinag-isipan ko talaga itong mabuti. Ang gusto ko kasi sa lalaki, mahaba ang pasensya. Kaya ayun, ang unang pagsubok, masusubok natin ang pasensiya mo. Gusto ko sanang matuto kang maglaro ng instrumento.” (I would like a serious answer. I thought about it really well. I would like in a man to have a long patience. So there, for the first test will test your patience. I would like you to learn how to play an instrument.) Alden was quick to reply. “Kaya ko yun.” (I can do it.) Before Divina could finish her sentence, the truck horn honked off. Leaving the ALDUB Serendipity episode on a cliffhanger.
