Here is where she awaited her sisters, Donya Tidora and Lola Nidora. Not sure who was she impersonating with the blonde wig, big ribbon and baby dress. [It doesn’t look like a top-and-bottom ensemble hence the comment.] Donya Tidora was impersonating Ariana Grande.
Lola Nidora arrived with a black wig. So there was a minor misconception that she was impersonating GMA reporter Love Anover. But she was impersonating Jessie J. She arrived on the scene complaining that she can’t get hold of Rihanna, YayaDUB or Alden. Her sisters appeased her. Alden and YayaDUB might be preoccupied with the preparations now that she allowed them. The ALDUB Performs Together episode pushed through because Lola Nidora changed her mind in time for the performance.
YayaDUB soon called Lola Nidora. Her voice wasn’t heard on the background. But Lola Nidora indicated that it was her who called. Donya Tidora and Donya Tinidora are still clueless as to who among the choices given in the ALDUB Prepare Pa More episode was picked. Lola Nidora refused to give any hints. She just told her sisters to wait at the ALDUB Performs Together episode.
Alden came out first onstage. He impersonated Mr. Tirso Cruz III. One half of the Guy-And-Pip tandem. He lipsynched “Maria Leonora Theresa” while carrying a doll. During the 60’s, the doll served as the “child” of the once phenomenal love team. So lipsynching with the doll meant that Alden got his part correctly. The ALDUB Performs Together showed the details that Alden took to achieve the Pip Look. Of course there was the 70’s wig and the sharkskin (hopefully) pants. The overall 60’s look so to speak.
Alden’s performance at the ALDUB Performs Together episode was followed by YayaDUB. And just when you thought it’s all about the mole and the finger. YayaDUB just escalates the standard further. She lipsynched Ms. Nora Aunor’s cover of “Tiny Bubbles”. This was when the Guy-And-Pip tandem was at the height of popularity. Seems like the comparison between Guy-And-Pip and ALDUB in inevitable.
The Kalye’s Angels liked the performance so much. Donya Tinidora can’t help but be herself. “Ang ganda! Charong-Charo!” (So beautiful! So much like Charo!) [Charo Santos was one of the executives of ABS-CBN. She is the other actress known for having a mole on her cheek.] Later, YayaDUB DUBsmashed one of the most famous lines Ms. Nora Aunor ever delivered on the big screen. “Walang himala! Ang himala ay nasa puso ng tao!” (There are no miracles! The miracle is in the heart of man!) It was the classic line from Ishmael Bernal’s “Himala” (Miracle). Later, she DUBsmashed a line from Lupita Aquino-Kashiwahara’s “Minsan May Isang Gamo-Gamo” (Once There Was A Moth). “My brother is not a pig!”
Donya Tidora had an odd request at the ALDUB Performs Together episode. “Ibalik mo ang paminta!” (Bring back the pepper!) The fake mole that YayaDUB used in the performance looked like a a kernel of black pepper. Then she rode on the momentum and started DUBsmashing Ms. Nora Aunor’s cover of “Pearly Shells”. Later she DUBsmashed a line from the film “Dementia”. She somewhat struggled but she came through in the ALDUB Performs Together episode.
Lola Nidora obviously had demands in the ALDUB Performs Together episode. Mostly demands that she refused to divulge even to her own sisters. Eventually she relented after seeing the separate performances of Alden and YayaDUB. “Bakit kaya di na lang kayo magsama diyan sa performance?” (Why don’t you go together in one performance?) Donya Tidora found the idea of having a doll in the performance as cute. “Kasama pa rin si Annabelle!” (Annabelle is with them.) Halloween is over. Yet Donya Tidora hasn’t gotten over that horror movie.
Alden and YayaDUB got accustomed to have metered movements. Metered in accordance to Lola Nidora’s measurements. But Lola Nidora assured them that it’s safe now. “Sige na nga. Nagkakahiyaan pa kayo.” (Go ahead. You feel awkward at each other’s presence.) With Lola Nidora’s prodding, they performed the Guy-And-Pip duet “Together Again”. ALDUB Performs Together!
At the end of the performance of the ALDUB Performs Together episode. Lola Nidora is more than satisfied. “Magaling kayong dalawa. Napabilib nyo rin ako. Mahusay kayong manggaya! Bravo! Malayo ang mararating ninyo.” (Both of you are great. You made me believe in you. Both of you are great impersonators! Bravo! You will go a long way.) Both of them were happy. Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB was obviously happier among the two. Lola Nidora then reminded her to behave, prompting her to call “Divina Ursula!”
Alden then handed the doll to Divina. It’s been awhile since the ALDUB Nation saw the Mickey-And-Minnie dolls anyway. So him giving her the doll was a sweet gesture at the ALDUB Performs Together episode. Requests for their biggest DUBsmash hits poured in from the grannies. Together they performed the Malaysian DUBsmash and the Busta Rhymes DUBsmash.
One of the KalyeSerye commentators Allan K noticed the level of comfort between Alden and Divina. “Parang nakagawian na talaga yung nakaabrisiete.” (Looks like the arm cling has become a habit.) Alden would often extend part of his arm anyway to Divina. And Divina would latch on to it. Alden thanked Lola Nidora for allowing him and Divina to perform onstage. “Lola, salamat po. Pinayagan nyo po kaming mag-perform ni Yaya.” (Granny, thank you. You finally allowed us of nanny to perform together.) Lola Nidora welcomed Alden’s gratitude at the ALDUB Performs Together episode. “Wala yun. Basta napapasaya yung dabarkads natin.” (It’s nothing. As long as we entertain our dabarkads.)
Divina a.k.a YayaDUB was so happy. She ended up impersonating Donya Tinidora’s laugh at the ALDUB Performs Together episode. It prompted Lola Nidora to be blunt to the young couple. “Minsan sa sobrang sweet nyo, nakakalimutan nyong nakatingin kaming mga lola.” (Sometimes you are overflowing with sweetness that you forget us grannies looking at you.)
KalyeSerye commentator Allan K started pressing on Lola Nidora regarding her comment at the ALDUB Performs Together episode. ‘Sabi mo, malayo mararating ng dalawa. Aabot kaya sa altar yan?” (You said that the pair will go a long way. Will they make it to the altar?) Lola Nidora nipped Allan K’s idea in the bud. “Yung altar na sinasabi mo. Bata pa ang mga yan.”(That altar that you’re referring to. They are still young.) It was reminiscent of Donya Bebeng’s question to YayaDUB at the ALDUB 16th Weeksary episode. YayaDUB admitted that she’s only 20 years old.
Later one of the KalyeSerye commentators, Senator Tito Sotto, requested that Alden serenade Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB. Alden then sang “Wish I May” to her at the ALDUB Performs Together episode. He gave her 3 stems of roses too. Then Alden announced something. “Bago po matapos ang lahat …” (Before everything ends …) He then retrieved the jewelry box that they took from the haunted house at the ALDUB Bahay Ni Lola episode.
Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB was overwhelmed with happiness. “Lola, hindi po ako na-orient.” (Granny, I wasn’t oriented.) Looks like “orientation” is a common missing element in ALDUB these days. And the ALDUB Performs Together episode is no exception. Lola Nidora chastised Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB. “Divina Ursula, umayos ka!” (Divina Ursula, get hold of yourself!) Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB tried to reason. “Lola, kinakabahan ako.” (Granny, I’m nervous.)
Alden then reminded everyone of the words in the scroll. “Ibigay ko raw po ito sa taong gusto kong makasama habang buhay.” (I was told to give it to the person I wanted to be with for life.) He found the scroll at the jewelry box. But not the ring. Lola Nidora was aghast. “Hindi ba ikaw ang may hawak niyan? Nasan ang singsing? Hindi puede mawala ang singsing! Hindi ako nagbibiro!” (Aren’t you the one in possession of that? Where is the ring? You cannot lose the ring! I am not kidding!) The truck horn honked in time to signal the end of the ALDUB Performs Together episode.
