#ALDUBMoreThanWords Image CTTO @maiden16_tarlac. The ALDUB More Than Words episode shows Lola Nidora pissed off. Her “mayordoma” (governess) of 15 years, Rihanna, is getting married. Donya Tidora and Donya Tinidora asked for Rihanna’s age. Lola Nidora then admitted that Rihanna is already 35. Beyond legal marrying age, yes. But she found the engagement rushed. “Nag-chat lang, mag-aasawa na?” (They just chat online and now they’re getting married?)
Lola Nidora is not against the marriage. She is just flabbergasted at meeting in person once and getting married immediately. “Okay lang naman mag-asawa. Ang problema, isang beses lang silang nagkita, magaasawa na? Ano to? Instant nodol?” (Getting married is okay. The problem is they only met in person once, then off to marriage? What’s this? Instant noodles?) Rihanna’s fiance is named Harry. That fueled Lola Nidora’s speculation that Harry is in a hurry.
Her sisters consoled her in the ALDUB More Than Words episode. When they learned that Harry made an effort to come over to the Philippines from Britain to meet Rihanna personally. They were fine with it. “Pumunta na si Harry sa bahay. Tapos nagsusungit ka pa.” (Harry went to your house. And you’re having a hissy fit.) Lola Nidora denied having a hissy fit. “Di ako nagsusungit. Di ko lang maintindihan ang Ingles niya.” (I am not having a hissy fit. I just can’t comprehend his English.) Apparently, Harry is a Brit. So imagine Lola Nidora’s nosebleed moments while talking to Harry. [New characters maybe? Or possible new alter-egos? Speculations abound in the ALDUB More Than Words episode.]
Lola Nidora took comfort at the thought of how obedient YayaDUB turned out. Donya Tinidora and Donya Tidora accused Lola Nidora of bitterness. So bitter that she wanted even her own servants to have miserable love lives. Lola Nidora insisted her principles. She is still upset at Rihanna’s rushed engagement. “Hindi kasi sila naniniwala sa tamang panahon.” (They don’t believe in the right time.) Lola Nidora makes it sound like Rihanna got into a Craigslist marriage. This part in the ALDUB More Than Words episode ended up looking like a critique on online dating.
Donya Tinidora found Lola Nidora’s meddling in the ALDUB More Than Words episode as annoying. She already took control of YayaDUB’s love life. She wanted to intrude into Rihanna’s love life? What if it’s true love? So what if it’s instant? Lola Nidora yelled at her sisters. “Instant?!?!?!?!?! Tunay na nagiibigan?!?!?!?!? Kundi ko yan pinigilan ano na lang?” (Instant? True love? If I didn’t restrain her, what would become of her?) Noticeably, the only married woman among the sisters is Lola Nidora. Donya Tinidora and Donya Tidora believed in instant love. But they remained single according to previous episodes like the ALDUB Love on Top episode and the ALDUB Getting Closer episode.
Donya Tinidora went on with her tirade. “Problema sa yo, wala kang love life. Kaya pinapakelaman mo yung love life nung iba” (The problem with you is you don’t have a love life. So you’re meddling with other people’s love life.) Lola Nidora is too upset to even care if her own sisters hate her now in the ALDUB More Than Words episode. That was until a Dubsmash track came along. It was fellow Dabarkads Jimmy Santos a.k.a. Jimmy Saints. He found words in Lionel Richie’s song “Hello” appropriate for greeting Lola Nidora.
Their choice of Dubsmash tracks revealed their age. It was more obvious though on Jimmy Saints. From Lionel Richie’s “Hello”. To Engelbert Humperdinck’s “Cuando Cuando Cuando”. Donya Tinidora then commanded her Cuando Cuando Cuando to dance, emphasizing the reference for her army’s name. Donya Tinidora and Donya Tidora found it funny to see Jimmy Saints and Lola Nidora flirt on the ALDUB More Than Words episode. As much as Lola Nidora is strict with YayaDUB and with Rihanna, she doesn’t impose the same restrictions on herself. And so everyone started looking for YayaDUB.
All that Donya Tinidora had to do is count and YayaDUB appeared. She carried a plastic bag containing Lola Nidora’s snack. According to Lola Nidora, it was “pan de coco” (bread filled with sweetened coconut meat). Donya Tidora found the pieces of bread too small. They might as well be named “pan de coclet”. Donya Tinidora doesn’t appreciate bread at high noon. (Maybe she’s a rice person?) As no one could do anything about the bread anymore, Donya Tinidora changed the topic. She asked YayaDUB herself how is she doing. YayaDUB replied via the Bee Gees’ “Staying Alive”.
Alden shortly appeared on the next monitor after seeing YayaDUB in her perky self at the ALDUB More Than Words episode. Later he wrote on his clipboard. “Nagpapa-miss ka ba? Ayos! Effective!” (Are you trying to make me miss you? Great! It’s effective!) YayaDUB wrote on her clipboard. “Gaano mo ko ka-miss?” (How much do you miss me?) Alden wrote in bold letters. “Sobra!” (So much!) Looks like both Alden and YayaDUB had broader sharpies this time. YayaDUB then expressed her happiness by Dubsmashing “We Found Love in a Hopeless Place”.
YayaDUB took the opportunity in the ALDUB More Than Words episode to thank Alden for the fruits. Alden then asked YayaDUB anything else that she liked. YayaDUB simply wrote “pritong lumpia” (fried spring rolls). Alden stood up and started looking for spring rolls in stalls nearby Broadway Centrum. Donya Tidora chided YayaDUB. Alden spoiled her. Donya Tinidora defended YayaDUB. “Ganyan talaga ang mga lalaki.” (That’s how men are.) YayaDUB simply replied by writing on her clipboard. “Chivalry is not dead”.
Alden can’t find any lumpia at the convenience store. At the ALDUB Next Chapter episode, he managed to find some “turon” at that convenience store. But not lumpia. He already went outside the Broadway Centrum parking lot and still nothing. YayaDUB wasn’t upset or angry. Just longing for the lumpia. She wrote on her clipboard “Pabebe request ko yun.” (It’s my pabebe request.) Donya Tidora suggested an alternative. “Bumili ka na lang ng sangkap. Tapos ikaw ang magluto.” (Buy ingredients instead. Then cook it.) The cameraman in the ALDUB More Than Words episode followed Alden all the way to the closest sari-sari store outside Broadway Centrum. Crossing the street to check if lumpia is sold there.
Alden found “hopia”. Not lumpia. Now YayaDUB is visibly upset. Donya Tidora suggested that Alden buy carrots instead. YayaDUB is so upset. She is starting to look like a rabbit with her front teeth protruding and wrinkled nose. Alden returned to his den sad and apologetic to YayaDUB in the ALDUB More Than Words episode. Lola Nidora then reminded YayaDUB. “Wag kang umarte nang ganyan, Yaya. Lumpia lang yan.” (Stop your tantrums, nanny. It’s just spring roll.)
Donya Tinidora then distracted YayaDUB. “Turuan ka namin magsalita ha?” (We will teach you how to talk okay?) She asked YayaDUB first in the ALDUB More Than Words if she talked in the previous episodes, ALDUB The Trials and ALDUB Next Chapter. YayaDUB simply shook her head. Donya Tinidora then asked YayaDUB to say MAMA. YayaDUB can mouth the word MAMA. But no voice comes out of her mouth. Later she was asked to say A E I O U. Again, she just mouthed them. Alden can’t hear anything either.
Donya Tidora tried to make YayaDUB talk too. She tried making her say “Close open. Close open.” In the middle of the impromptu speech therapy, YayaDUB reacted through Dubsmashing Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song”. Alden took the opportunity to catch YayaDUB’s attention again by writing “Psssst” on his clipboard. KalyeSerye commentator “Boss” Joey de Leon ended up calling him “Boy Sutsot”. YayaDUB tried to ignore Alden in the ALDUB More Than Words episode. Alden promised that he would have some lumpia cooked for tomorrow’s weeksary.
YayaDUB wrote on her clipboard. “Promise yan ha?” (That’s a promise okay?) She then extended her pinky finger. Alden then made a pabebe swear with YayaDUB. Alden then showed his next clipboard messages. “Puede ba kitang sundan? Kasi sabi ng teacher ko, follow your heart.” (May I follow you? Because my teacher said, follow your heart.) Donya Tidora asked “Anong subject?” (What subject?) Fellow KalyeSerye commentator Allan K answered. “Home economics.” YayaDUB then Dubsmashed an Utada Hikaru song. (So she can Dubsmash J-pop too as shown in the ALDUB More Than Words episode.)
Lola Nidora had her own scribbled note shown at the ALDUB More Than Words episode. “Jimmy, may gout ka pa ba? Pareho tayo.” (Jimmy, do you still have gout? That makes us both.) After not seeing Jimmy again. Lola Nidora remembered the email that she asked YayaDUB to open. She’s been trying to open that email since Monday through YayaDUB. Only YayaDUB knew of the password. After YayaDUB opened the email, she handed the smartphone over to Lola Nidora. Lola Nidora was aghast at the email. As the ALDUB More Than Words episode screeched to a trunk horn, the voice was heard again. It said “ALDUB YOU”.
“Lola.” “Alden.” “ALDUB YOU.” Seems like the mysterious voice would rather limit itself to a few words. No wonder speculations abound that it is YayaDUB. And she is just about to learn how to talk. Hence starting with words more associated with her. Will the suspicions be confirmed on the ALDUB weeksary this Thursday? Tune in to Eat Bulaga. Monday to Saturday at noontime.
