Before the ALDUB Missing Ring episode kicks off, the KalyeSerye commentators thanked Illumine for the awards. Most Innovative Noontime Show for Eat Bulaga. Most Innovative Comedian for Wally Bayola. And Most Innovative Love Team for ALDUB. Everyone has reasons to celebrate. If not for the missing ring that bugged Lola Nidora for days now. (Bayola briefly thanked Illumine as his alter ego, Lola Nidora, though.)
Once the ALDUB Missing Ring episode has begun. Donya Tidora started lipsynching to Mariah Carey’s “My All”. No Bernardo Bernardo Bernardo. No Donya Tinidora. No Cuando Cuando Cuando. Just Donya Tidora happy about last Saturday’s episode. But she can’t afford to be too happy. “Ang ate, beast mode na naman. Kasi naman, everything perfect na.” (Elder sister is on beast mode again. Just when everything is already perfect.)
Lola Nidora arrived barely recovered from the shock and anger she felt from the ALDUB Performs Together episode. It’s as if she threw an angry question to the wind. “Nasaan ang singsing?” (Where is the ring?) She refused to sit down. She refused to calm down. Anger was spitting out of her pores. “HINDI ININGATAN NI ALDEN! ANG SABI KO ALAGAAN DAHIL KALAKIP NITO ANG KASAYSAYAN NG PAMILYA!” (Alden did not take care of it! I told him to keep it since it goes with the family history!) It’s a family heirloom Lola Nidora can’t afford to lose as she expressed vehemently in the ALDUB Missing Ring episode.
Meds be damned at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. Lola Nidora could only scream her guts out in anger. “PAPANONG HINDI AKO MAGAGALIT? PINAGKATIWALAAN KO SIYA!” (How will I not be angry? I trusted him!) Donya Tidora refuse to blame Alden for what happened. “Wala namang may kasalanan doon.” (It’s nobody’s fault.) It only made Lola Nidora more furious. “SINO MAY KASALANAN? AKO?” (Whose fault is it then? Mine?) Lola Nidora slammed a figurine in fury. Donya Tidora egged her on sarcastically. “Sige, manira ka.” (Go ahead and destroy stuff.)
Refusing to sit down, Lola Nidora continued in her tirade at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. “PINAYAGAN KO NA KAYO AT LAHAT LAHAT! PERO KAPAG MAY NANGYAYARI, AKO ANG MAY KASALANAN!” (I have permitted you and everything! But whenever something happens, it’s still my fault!) Donya Tinidora may be absent. But Donya Tidora’s sarcasm proved she is indeed their sister. “Hindi ko naman masabi ng sinabotahe mo ang performance kasi masama ang loob mo sa min. Hindi namin sinasabi yun!” (I can’t say that you sabotaged the performance because you felt bad at us. We are not saying that.)
Alden was shown on the other monitor looking everywhere for the ring. Lola Nidora could not be at peace knowing the ring is still missing. Alden continued with his search. “Nung Sabado pa po ako nandito.” (I’ve been here since Saturday.) Nice punchline. Last Saturday, he went on tour again. So yeah, it gets sketchy at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. Alden kept on justifying himself though. “Hawak hawak ko lang po yun bago kami sumayaw.” (I was holding it while we were dancing.) Another loophole. If the ring was in the jewelry box, the audience would see it. Also, no “Sorry”.
Alden’s alibis annoy Lola Nidora. “SAN KA BA TUMATAMBAY? PANO YUN MAWAWALA? HINDI KA NAMAN GUMAGALAW! KUMANTA KA LANG!” (Where have you been hanging out? How did it get lost? You’re not even moving at the performance! You just sang!) Even more, Alden greeted YayaDUB today. Because it’s a special day today. Lola Nidora felt ignored at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. “PAPANO MAGIGING ESPESYAL ANG ARAW NA ITO KUNG MAY PROBLEMA TAYO? HINDI NINYO WEEKSARY!” (How will this day be special if we have a problem? It’s not your weeksary!)
Lola Nidora may be angry in the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. But she found a way to her frustration too. “WALANG KAPATAWARAN ANG KAPABAYAAN MO, ALDEN! HINDI BA MAHALAGA SA YO?” (Your negligence is unforgiveable, Alden! Isn’t it important to you?) Lola Nidora felt that Alden wasn’t careful enough in keeping the ring. An attitude that she understood as Alden viewing this relationship as not important enough. If this was really important for Alden, he would have exerted extra diligence.
Lola Nidora’s foul mood was almost interrupted by her fart. She refused to sit down. So when she farted. Donya Tidora was sitting behind her. She suggested that Lola Nidora go to the toilet. But Lola Nidora was too angry to be considerate towards her sister at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. “TUMIGIL KA! IMAGINATION MO LANG YAN! HINDI AKO NAKIKIPAGBIRUAN! PATI SIKMURA KO GALIT NA!” (Shut up! It’s just your imagination! I am not kidding! Even my tummy is angry!)
Alden tried to continue speaking as YayaDUB and Donya Tidora tried to calm down Lola Nidora. “Gusto ko pong sabihin sa inyo kung bakit espesyal ang araw na to. Lola, kasi po ika-100th day po mula ng magkita kami.” (I would like to tell you why this day is special. Granny, it’s the 100th day since we met.) Alden then went down memory lane through printed photos. From the first day they met to their first weeksary to their first meeting. Even the abduction episode with Duhrizz, the visit to the mansion and the TVJ meet-up was shown at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. Lola Nidora let them have their way. For now.
The riding in tandem appeared to deliver the flowers that Alden sent to YayaDUB. YayaDUB had her sealed letter sent to Alden in return. Like the letter in the ALDUB EB For Love episode. It was never opened in front of the cameras. It was meant exclusively for Alden. Lola Nidora watched Alden and YayaDUB celebrate their 100 days and failed to contain herself. She exclaimed. “WALA NA!” (It’s done!)
Lola Nidora’s anger is on the brink of catatonia. She had to remind YayaDUB again of the problem at hand. “Ano bang selebrasyon? Ano ang problema?” (What celebration? What is the problem?) YayaDUB meekly replied. “Nawawala po yung singsing” (The ring is missing.) Lola Nidora then blurted out something that might not sit well with the ALDUB Nation at the ALDUB Missing Ring. “Pues, ilabas na ang DVD! Wala na ang singsing! Tapusin na natin ito!” (Then, eject the DVD from the player! The ring is gone! Let’s finish this!) It may sound like an abrupt way to end a hit series. But you have seen TV series cancelled when you least expect it.
Lola Nidora is upset at how Alden and YayaDUB ignored the problem. “Ang singsing na yun ang mahalagang bahagi ng pamilya. Kung una pa lang, binigyan mo ng importansya, sana lahat masaya. Sana lahat tayo kinikilig.” (That ring is an important part of the family. If from the beginning, you have it importance, everyone should be happy. All of us should be giddy.) It was a strange point at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode where Lola Nidora earned some sympathy.
Alden tried to reason with Lola Nidora. “Ayoko pong mawala ang singsing.” (I don’t want to lose the ring.) Donya Tidora tried to pacify Lola Nidora. “Hayaan mo na, ate. Maghahanap si Alden sa tamang panahon.” (Let it go, elder sister. Alden will start searching in the right time.) If that is a subliminal admission on Donya Tidora that Alden will only look for the ring whenever he felt like it, bad news. Lola Nidora is not a happy camper at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. “Hayaan nyong mag-react ako pag nahanap nyo na.” (Let me react once you find it.)
Lola Nidora’s foul mood did not stop everyone from getting into the Sugod Bahay errand. Donya Tidora had to apologize to their winner several times for the rude behavior. This is start to go borderline method acting. Icky territory right there in the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. Lola Nidora tried to give some sound advice to their winner though. “Ang mga natanggap mo ngayon, pahalagahan mo. Dininig ang dasal mo. Pahalagahan mo.” (Whatever you receive now, give importance to it. Your prayers are heard. Give importance to it.) Bossing Vic Sotto can’t help but sense the vitriol in Lola Nidora’s statement. “Parang may pinapasaringan ka, lola.” (Seems like you’re speaking nonchalantly about someone, granny.)
YayaDUB telling Lola Nidora to calm down annoyed her too. “HINDI NA NGA AKO NAGSASALITA! KALMA! KALMA! Nasan na si Alden?” (I’m not talking anymore! And you’re telling me to calm down! Where is Alden?) Donya Tidora just answered her sister. “Tinatakot naman yung bata.” (You’re scaring the kid.) Lola Nidora ignored her at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. “Alden, naghihintay kami rito.” (Alden, we’re waiting here.)
Donya Tidora still felt sympathetic towards Alden though. “Ate, nakita mo naman. Pursigido naman si Alden sa paghahanap.” (Elder sister, you see. Alden is bent on looking.) Alden was shown looking even at his fellow dabarkads’ stuff for the ring. Not that it calmed Lola Nidora down at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. “Hindi tayo sigurado sa puedeng mangyari sa pagkawala ng singsing! Anong gagawin natin? Nawala ang singsing! Kaya ako nagkakaganito kasi nagtiwala ako!” (We are not sure as what can happen with the ring lost! What are we going to do? The ring is lost! I am having a hissy fit because I trusted you!)
Alden almost stopped the search awhile ago to celebrate his 100 days with YayaDUB. Almost if not for Lola Nidora staying furious at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. She almost interpreted this as Alden giving up. Alden denied it. “”Hindi po, Lola. Hahanapin ko po ang singsing para sa amin ni Maine.” (No, granny. I will search for the ring for us of Maine.) So after calling her “Yaya” (Nanny) at Donya Bebeng’s visit. Alden is now back to calling YayaDUB as Maine.
Lola Nidora is still angry. But she can dish out some sarcasm too. Donya Tinidora is still not around at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode. That’s why. “HINDI NA MAHALAGA YUN. PAG WALANG SINGSING, WALANG FOREVER. PAG WALANG FOREVER NA MAGAGANAP.” (It’s not important anymore. If there is no ring, there is no forever. If there is no forever to occur.) Lola Nidora stopped herself to avoid getting over her head again.
A man was later shown entering the premises. He found it very easy to come in. Another proof of the inefficiency of her bodyguards. The man left a letter for Lola Nidora to read. Upon opening the letter. Lola Nidora lost it. “”Ano ito? Puro pirma! Actingan lang to! Di mabasa ito!” (What’s this? All signatures! This is just an act! I can’t read this!) Clearly, at the ALDUB Missing Ring episode, you can’t tell anymore who’s angrier – Lola Nidora or Wally Bayola.
For Lola Nidora, this is unacceptable. The ALDUB Missing Ring episode is where she is at her angriest. All frustrations just blasted out. “TAPOS PAGBABASAHIN NYO PA KO NG HINDI MAINTINDIHAN? SINUSUNOD KO NAMAN LAHAT HA? HINDI ITO MAAARI!” (Then you will make me read an unreadable letter? I follow everything that you tell me right? This cannot be!) The truck horn honked off at the height of Lola Nidora’s outburst.
How long would Lola Nidora be this angry? She’s a flaming hemorrhoid. On why she got some sympathy from people like me? Because Alden and YayaDUB tried to sugarcoat the situation with this 100 days’ celebration. Yeah, we gotta admit ALDUB failed in terms of crisis management here. And it fueled the fire surrounding speculations about Alden’s true intentions to YayaDUB. Was he really serious? Doesn’t seem like he feels like putting a ring on it. Tune in to Eat Bulaga.
