They’re both still reeling from the happiness from the ALDUB Stay Strong episode. They were both dancing. The energy was so infectious that even the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio danced. Still no speaking lines though. No plans perhaps to steal the spotlight from their employer.
For Lola NIdora, the ALDUB Stay Strong episode was a whirlwind of sorts. So many things happened. But she still remembered to attend Paolo Ballesteros’ birthday party prior to the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Nag-enjoy ako sa bday party ni Paolo. Si Paolo yung makisig na taga-barangay.” (I enjoyed at Paolo’s birthday party. He’s the handsome one from the barangay segment.) Donya Tidora verified if it’s the same Paolo who’s rumored to be … She can’t say the word in fear of offending sensibilities. But Lola Nidora got the gist of what she was trying to say. “Tsismis lang yun.” (They’re just rumors.)
Lola Nidora mentioned Keira, Paolo’s daughter. “English-speaking si Keira. Marami siyang sinasabi. Ang sagot ko lang, thank you.” (She spoke English. She said so many things. All I could reply is thank you.) She told the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio to remind her of her gift to Keira later. “Paalala nyo yung gift ko kay Keira.” (Remind me of my gift to Keira.) Donya Tidora was eager to know what it is. But Lola Nidora kept her lips sealed at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode.
Now where was YayaDUB at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode? Lola Nidora said that YayaDUB is on her way. “Pauwi na yun. Tapos na ang orientation ni Yaya. Dumaan lang kay Alden kasi pinakiusapan niya si Senyora Babah.” (She’s on her way home. Her orientation class is done. She just dropped by Alden’s place with Senyora Babah to ask her permission.) She pushed through with her studies as of the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode.
Lola Nidora is happy. Despite being ecstatically in love, YayaDUB pushed through with her studies. Getting Alden back is not a reason to nix her plan. Lola Nidora is proud that the values she imparted to YayaDUB had taken root. “Wag gawing hadlang ang pag-ibig sa pag-aaral. Mas maiging magmahal nang may alam ang kukote. Sabi ko nga, mag-aral munang mag-square root bago humaroot.” (Don’t use love as an obstacle to your education. It’s better that you love with a loaded brain. Like what I’ve said before, learn how to square root before flirting.)
Donya Tidora was so pleased with Lola Nidora’s statement. She raised her sister’s hand. “Mabuhay si Ate!” (Cheers to elder sister!) Too bad Donya Tidora forgot how short Lola Nidora’s limbs are. Lola Nidora felt a little too stretched. “Mababali ang kamay ko!” (You’re breaking my hand!) Lola Nidora continued with her sermon at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Busugin muna ang utak para maging handa ang puso.” (Feed the brain to prepare the heart.) Boss Joey de Leon agreed. “Mag-aral muna ng Math bago magpabanat.” (Learn Math before hitting IT.)
An SUV horn honked close to where the grannies stood. Senator Tito had one thing in mind upon seeing the silver car at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Ganda ng kotse, malamang si Frankie.” (Nice car, it might be Frankie.) The rest were expecting the top down car from the ALDUB Stay Strong episode. Lola Nidora want none of that. “Tigilan na yang top down na yan at umuulan.” (Enough of the top down car and it’s raining.)
Out came Frankie Arenolli. Wearing a jacket by Rolls Royce and pants by Google. Lola Nidora never realized that Google now manufactures pants. “Ano yang pantalon mo? Google? May pantalon ang Google?” (What are your pants? Google? Google manufactures pants now?) [They must have gotten that idea from Mark Schaefer’s joke at The Marketing Companion Podcast. And Frankie beat them to it at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode.]
Lola Nidora liked it that Frankie has moved on as of the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Mabilis ka talagang naka-move on.” (You really move on quite quickly.) Who would have thought YayaDUB’s ex-fiance [almost husband] could find another? Frankie agreed as he considers himself accustomed to pain. “I’m strong. Sanay na ko sa heartache, headache, toothache. Lahat yan.” Bossing Vic chided him further. “Kala ko naka-jackpot ka na, Frankie. Malas naman.” (I thought you’ve hit the jackpot. Too bad.)
Frankie admitted that as of the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode, the only “jackpot” he stumbled upon is dog poo. “Puro jackpot lang natatapakan ko.” (I only get to step on the ‘jackpot’.) But Frankie’s facade didn’t last long enough. After sharing that Cindy is still in the hospital. Frankie broke down. “Andun na eh. Sumasama na sa akin. Napasyal ko na sa Luneta.” (We’re almost there. She’s ready to come with me. I’ve already taken her to the park.) Lola Nidora could only feel bad for Frankie. “Sayang.” (What a waste.)
For a model, Cindy lost her balance that easily. Frankie was blunt enough in partly blaming Cindy. “Ganda ganda, di marunong maglakad kasi. Binilhan ko na lang sana ng helmet.” (For something stunningly beautiful, she can’t walk properly. I should have bought her a helmet.) As of the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode, Frankie is still unlucky in love. Frankie then posed the question. “Tell me. What’s wrong with me? I’m rich. I’m powerful.” Surely, he need not buy Cindy the way he almost did to YayaDUB. But he could have at least bought her family debt to Donya Babah.
Lola Nidora was blunt enough to tell Frankie the truth. “Mabait ka sana, Frankie. Kaso hambog ka eh.” (You could have been nice, Frankie. But you’re a blowhard.) Donya Tidora was more consoling though. “May darating din sa yo. Buong buo.” (Someone will come for you. All yours.) Frankie admitted at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode though that time is not on his side. “Magsi-cinquenta na ako eh.” (I’m pushing fifty years old.) Donya Tidora kept her stand albeit gently. “Darating din ang GG mo.” (Your GG will come.) [GG stands for “God’s Gift”.]
Frankie ended up having some DUBsmash tracks of his own at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. It sounded more like a mixtape though. Frankie denied DUBsmashing. “Nagsa-soundtrip lang ako.” (I’m just having a soundtrip.) He then started looking for Alden. Alden was shown reeling from the almost kiss that occurred at the ALDUB Stay Strong episode. To avoid misdirecting the kiss at Frankie. Alden held his mobile phone. It has YayaDUB’s picture as his wallpaper.
Lola Nidora wasn’t very upset at Alden at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Alden, mabuti bumusina nung Sabado. Kung hindi, nakurot kita sabay uppercut.” (Good thing the truck horn honked last Saturday. Otherwise, I would have pinched you followed by an uppercut.) She was later told that it was the spinner who sounded off the truck horn. Lola Nidora almost thanked the DJ. “Alerto ka diyan, DJ! Nung isang araw muntik nang matuloy yung [kiss].” (Be alert, DJ. The kiss almost pushed through.)
Donya Tidora wasn’t so pleased though. “DJ, napaka-KJ mo! DJ, magbakasyon ka nga.” (DJ, you’re such a killjoy! You should go on vacation!) Senator Tito saw that it was only inches before the lips met. Lola Nidora’s nerves rattled. “Malapit na, Tito. Kinabahan ako sobra. Alden, di ko gusto yun.” (That was almost, Tito. I was so nervous. Alden, I didn’t like that.) Alden just agreed at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode.
Lola Nidora went on with cuckolding Alden. “Ang gusto ko talaga ay yung maging mabuti kayong magkaibigan. Muna. Ituloy ang maayos at tamang na pagsuyo. At kung saan makarating, bahala na.” (What I really wanted is for you two to be good friends. For now. Continue with the appropriate pursuit. Wherever you may end, so be it.) She got a little confused later on. She saw Alden’s lips were not moving even if she could hear “Opo, Lola.” It turned out to be Frankie impersonating Alden’s voice at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode.
The phone rang shortly at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. It was YayaDUB. Lola Nidora talked on the phone when some strange sound was heard from her chair. Trying to ignore the noise, she asked YayaDUB. “Naririnig mo ba?” (Can you hear me?) It was the KalyeSerye commentary panel through Bossing Vic that answered. “DInig na dinig namin. Paayos nyo silya nyo! Lumalangitngit!” (We can hear it loud and clear. Get your chair fixed! It’s wincing.) Donya Tidora standing up gave away what the sound really was. Lola Nidora farted.
Donya Tidora almost scolded Lola Nidora. But she herself is suppressing her laughter at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Ate, ano bang pinagkakakain mo?” (Elder sister, what have you been eating again?) Lola Nidora had to cut short the phone call. “Babay! Masama ang pakiramdam ko, Yaya.” (Bye! I am not feeling too well, nanny.) Lola Nidora then suppressed her laughter too in order to stay in character. Donya Tidora kept fanning away the smell around Lola Nidora.
Once the coast is clear at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. Donya Tidora called Frankie back. “Frankie, halika na. Clear na.” (Come here. It’s clear now.) Senator Tito then chided Frankie. “Ikaw kasi, Frankie, ugali mo yun eh.” (It’s your karma, Frankie, since you usually do that.) [Senator Tito must have been referring to the episodes where Donya Tinidora farted in front of the Bernardo Bernardo Bernardo. They’ve been gone for more than a month now.]
Bossing Vic himself was trying to contain his laughter. “Tunog pa lang eh. Ipit!” (That sound alone! Sounds suppressed!) Frankie could feel it too. “Strong vibrations!” But Bossing Vic blamed the chair at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Bwisit na silyang yan!” (Damn that chair!) Frankie can’t guess what Lola Nidora ate. But he smelled something else in the fart. “Kaya nyo bang tumayo? Lola, naninigarilyo ka ba? Parang nicotine.” (Can you stand? Granny, do you smoke? Smells like nicotine.) Since it didn’t seem good from the sound of her fart alone.
Donya Tidora went to their Sugod Bahay errand with Frankie instead. But she advised Lola Nidora to go to the toilet while she and Frankie are away. “Ate, mag May I go out ka muna.” (Elder sister, go to the toilet for the meantime.) Bossing Vic then drew the number of their next Sugod Bahay winner as they waited. Lola Nidora agreed to stay behind in case her tummy felt that bad for a toilet trip.
Before Donya Tidora and Frankie could return to Lola Nidora, the KalyeSerye commentary panel checked her situation. Lola Nidora can afford to stand now. After speaking on the phone, she apologized for losing her manners. “Humihingi ako ng pasensya sa nangyari kanina. Hindi magandang gawain yun. May mga pagkakataon kasi na hindi mapipigilan eh. Matanda na ko eh. Pasensya na.” (I would like to apologize for what happened awhile ago. It’s not a pleasant thing to do. There are instances where you can’t suppress it. I’m old. My apologies.)
Lola Nidora begged the audience not to follow her example. “Pag mga ganun lalayo.” (Just in case it happens, walk away.) Bossing Vic had a suggestion at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode though. “Hindi mage-excuse me? Wala namang problema yun.” (Won’t you say excuse me? It’s not a problem.) Lola Nidora was trying to regain her composure when YayaDUB finally arrived. She handed the items that Lola Nidora asked her to buy including some medication.
With YayaDUB now at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. Alden was happy enough for another DUBsmash exchange. YayaDUB could only comment. “Ano ba yan? Agad agad?” (What on earth! So swift?) Alden immediately DUBsmashed Apo Hiking Society’s “Panalangin” (Prayer). He then wrote on his clipboard. “Kamusta ka na?” (How are you?) YayaDUB replied on her clipboard. “OK ako. Ikaw? May sakit ka pa ba?” (I am okay. You? Still feeling sick?) Alden replied on his clipboard again. “Okay na ko. Nakita na kita eh.” (I am now okay. I finally saw you.)
YayaDUB then dished out another joke. “Anong tawag sa kampana na pagod?” It sounded familiar to Alden though. “Gusto mo sagutin ko? Hindi. Joke lang.” (You want me to answer that? No. Just kidding.) YayaDUB was somewhat discouraged. “Ayoko na nga!” (Never mind!) Alden didn’t ruin the joke. At least not yet. So he egged YayaDUB to continue. “Hindi. Hindi. Hindi. Ano?” (No. No. No. What is it?) YayaDUB then replied. “PAGODA Bells.” Everyone at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode had a good laugh.
YayaDUB noticed that Alden is not as well as he claimed. “Sinisipon ka ba? Sabi mo okay ka na.” (Are you having colds? You said that you’re okay now.) Alden downplayed his colds. “Wala lang yan. May joke ako. Ano tawag sa maliit na kambing?” (It’s nothing. What do you call a little goat?” YayaDUB asked what it is. Alden replied “E di kapirangGOAT.”
YayaDUB was already mouthing the answer before Alden’s punchline came in. Alden laughed at YayaDUB’s sharpness in his joke. “Hilig hilig mo sa ganyan. Nambabasag ka eh.” (You liked doing that. You’re ruining the joke.) Alden then claimed later. “Alam mo ikaw? Para kang joke na corny. Kasi last na kita.” (You know what? You’re like a corny joke. Because you’re my last one.)
Boss Joey liked the jokes. To a fault. “Itong si Alden, puro ka jokes. Wala kang tokes.” (The problem with Alden is that he’s all jokes. No “tokes” [a side comment about the aborted kiss].) Alden had no reply in respect to Boss Joey at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. But he made sure to thank YayaDUB. “Thank you nga pala sa pagpunta mo nung Sabado ha?” (Thank you for coming over last Saturday.)
YayaDUB did not take the credit though. “Magpasalamat ka kay Lola Babah. Sinunod ko lang kasi ang hiling niya sa akin eh. Alam mo. Mahal na mahal ka ng lola mo. At saka ayokong sinusuway mo siya kasi alam mo na. Saka wag dahil sa akin. Kasi nasasaktan siya kapag nakikita ka niyang nasasaktan.” (Be thankful to Granny Babah. I just followed what she told me. You know. Your grandmother loves you very much. And I don’t want you disobeying her. Don’t do it because of me. Because she gets hurt whenever she sees you hurt.)
Alden then asked YayaDUB. “Si Bonifacio ka ba?” (Are you Bonifacio?) YayaDUB asked. “Bakit? Ia-ANDRES mo ba ko?” (Why? Are you going to ANDRES [undress] me?) One of the grannies tapped YayaDUB on her head for her naughtiness at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Hindi. Kasi gusto kitang ipagpatayo ng monumento. Kasi martyr ka masyado eh.” (No. It’s because I’d like to erect a monument for you. You’re too much of a martyr.)
YayaDUB justified her act in the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Siempre para sa yo. Ganun kita kaMAHAL eh.” (Of course, that’s how much I love you.) Lola Nidora glared at her. Donya Tidora had to to calm down Lola Nidora though. YayaDUB clarified her statement. “MAHALaga po sa akin.” (It’s important to me.) Alden almost got scared of Lola Nidora standing up in shock. But he asked YayaDUB just the same. “Bakit mo ginawa yun?” (Why did you do that?)
YayaDUB explained to Alden. “Eh kasi ang alam ko. If you love someone, set him free. If he comes back, he’s yours. If not then, he never was.” Alden stated the obvious at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Eh bumalik.” (But he came back.) YayaDUB stated the other obvious thing. “E di I’m yours.”
Lola Nidora didn’t have a joke. But she has reminders. “Wag puro kilig ang buhay. Kelangan may nginig din. May takot sa Dios. May takot na magkamali at may takot na may masaktan. Sa ganyang paraan matututo kayong rumespeto at mag-isip ng tama. Binigyan kayo ng kalayaan ng lola. Wag nyong abusuhin.” (Life is not all about giddyness. There should be some fear. Fear of the Lord. Fear to commit mistakes and fear to hurt another person. That way you will learn how to respect and think correctly. Granny gave you freedom. Don’t abuse it.)
Since Cindy was nice to the grannies. Lola Nidora reminded them about her as well at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Pag okay na si Cindy, kausapin nyo. Wag nyong ibaon sa limot. Alden, bawat pagkakamali. Binibigyan tayo ng pagkakataon na maitama. Ang pagkakataon na yan ay wag nyong sayangin. ” (Once Cindy is okay, talk to her. Don’t forget her. For every mistake. We are given an opportunity to correct it. Don’t waste your opportunity.)
That’s when YayaDUB remembered the academic arrangements she made. “Lola, okay na po pala yung schedule ko. Matutupad na po ang pangarap kong makapag-aral ng business management. At saka magpatayo ng sariling restaurant.” (Granny, my schedule is settled. I will finally fulfill my dream to study business management. And put up my own restaurant.) She pulled out the papers she completed for Lola Nidora to read at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode.
Frankie wasn’t bitter if not for his quip. “Kung ako ang pinili mo, nakatayo na ang restaurant.” (If you chose me, your restaurant is already set up. Alden then spoke to YayaDUB instead. Addresssing her again as Maine at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Maine, kapag nakapagpatayo ka ba ng restaurant, puede ba ko mag-apply sa yo?” (If you have established your restaurant, may I apply to you?) YayaDUB asked why. Alden replied. “Para mag-work tayo.” (So that can work it out.)
Alden then asked if he can go to school too. “Puede ba kong mag-aral ng cardiology? Para magamot ko itong puso ko. Nahihibang na yata sa yo eh.” (May I take up cardiology? So that I can heal my heart. It’s going nuts for you.) Seems like Alden’s lessons with alleged pick-up artist Sam YG are working in the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. Lola Nidora just had one thing to ask Alden. “Wala na yung kiss ha? May sipon ka. Sa split screen, puede.” (No more kiss, okay? You’ve got colds. Do it on the split screen instead.)
With Lola Nidora clear on what Alden wanted to do for the meantime. Alden then asked in return. “Pag nagpaalam po ba ko sa inyo, papayagan nyo po ba ako?” (If I asked your permission [to be in a relationship with YayaDUB], would you allow me?) Lola Nidora’s answer was the same answer she gave at the ALDUB Runaway episode. “Manligaw ka muna. Pero pag sinabi na ni Yaya yung matamis na OO, bahala kayo.” (Pursue her first. But if nanny gave you her sweet yes, it’s up to you.) Alden thanked Lola Nidora for the permission to woo YayaDUB.
And so Alden remembered what he’d like to tell YayaDUB. “May sasabihin pala ako sa inyo.” (I have something to tell you.) He then pulled out his clipboard with the words “Happy 19th Weeksary” on it. Donya Tidora wondered since it’s not yet a Thursday. Alden mentioned how it got interrupted last week. YayaDUB greeted him back. “Happy Weeksary rin.” Alden used the opportunity in the ALDUB Kilig Continues to make up for the lost celebration in the ALDUB 19th Weeksary episode.
Later another horn was heard honking on the background. The riding in tandem appeared with a cluster of balloons and gave them all to YayaDUB. YayaDUB was somewhat perplexed. “Ano to? Bakit ang daming lobo?” (Why so many balloons?) Alden sent them over for a purpose now that they are free again at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. “Gusto ko paliparin mo isa-isa yang mga lobo na yan. Kasama diyan yung mga hindi magagandang nangyari sa atin. Isipin mo na lang. Lahat yun. Paliliparin mo lahat sa langit.” (I want you to release the balloons one by one. It includes all the bad things that happened to us. Think about them. All of them. Let them fly to the heavens.)
Alden continued as YayaDUB sought a spot to release them. “Ang iwan lang natin. Yung mga natutunan natin.” (We will leave only the lessons.) Lola Nidora held YayaDUB’s microphone before it gets tagged away with the released balloons. As YayaDUB released each balloon. Alden quipped. “She loves me. She loves me not.” Alden then DUBsmashed his own hit “Wish I May” at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode.
YayaDUB released the final balloon and exclaimed with Alden. “She loves me.” Frankie tried to chase the last balloon though. Alden asked him. “What’s wrong, Frankie?” Frankie just needed one. “I need 1 balloon. I need to go to the hospital. Kasi si Cindy, she needs me right now. She’s in critical condition.” Lola Nidora found some extra balloons for Frankie. Frankie counted them first and released one. 3 balloons to signify “I love you” at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode.
Before leaving, he left a message to Alden. “Ingatan mo si Meng.” (Take care of Meng.) Alden just said “Opo”. Frankie said goodbye to the grannies and the KalyeSerye commentary panel. On whether he’d be back after winning Cindy’s heart again is uncertain. But it’s definitely interesting to see Frankie regain his happiness again.
Alden then moved to his weeksary message to YayaDUB by calling her Maine. “Alam mo, Maine, marami pa tayong pagdadaanan. Pero dapat kayanin natin. Kasama mo ako sa lahat ng pagharap mo diyan. Promise. Sa lahat ng pangarap natin. Promise.” (We have so much more to experience. But we should endure. I will be with you to everything that you face. To all of our dreams.) He then made a pinky swear with YayaDUB at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode.
YayaDUB was thankful to Alden as well. “Alden, salamat din sa lakas mo. Ang lakas mo ang nagbibigay ng lakas para ituloy natin ang lahat ng ito. Sana wag kang sumuko. Tama ka. Tayong dalawa ito.” (Thanks for the strength. It’s your strength that strengthens me to continue all of these. I hope you won’t give up. You’re right. This is for the two of us.)
The phone rang. The same phone rang before Alden and YayaDUB exchanged weeksary messages at the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode. Even the KalyeSerye commentary panel was a bit annoyed with this minor interruption. And so Lola Nidora answered it. Turns out that she canceled the call first as she was preoccupied with the couple’s messages. “Hello? Binababa ko nga kasi yung dalawa eh naguusap. Ano? May nangyari sa mansion?” (I was dropping the call since the two are talking. What? Something happened to the mansion?) Shortly the truck horn horned to put the ALDUB Kilig Continues episode on a cliffhanger.
