The ALDUB KalyeSerye Interactive approach was the most predictable twist in the hit noontime segment #KiligPaMore. This seemed like a response to the elitists. They found themselves riding their high horse. They used today’s hashtag #ALDUBTuloyAngForever for the sake of dismissing ALDUB as dumb entertainment. If this is dumb entertainment, why did the most creative minds contributed to the paranoia that Lola Nidora is already suffering from?
True. Lola Nidora is a fictional character in the hit KalyeSerye. But knowing how much of this skit is dependent on adlibs. It would mean letting the fans have a say in the story flow. Not entirely dependent on the fans though. But the element of letting the ALDUB KalyeSerye Interactive factor work meant speaking in behalf of the hottest love team today in defense. Because Eat Bulaga has been in business long enough to know which tweets deserved attention. And which tweets are just desperate for attention. In this vein, conspiracy theorists surrounding Lola Nidora’s diary started chiming in their speculations.
What started as an ALDUB KalyeSerye Interactive effort got embedded into the interesting narrative. Everyone is free to speculate the contents of the diary. And Lola Nidora’s reaction to the alleged throwback photos that went viral confirmed some of the speculations that proliferated online. Lola Nidora may be a lot older than she actually is. That does not mean she’s spared from being suspected of having a wild past. Not that it’s a bad thing. But apparently Lola Nidora is embarrassed of her past.
Fanning the flames further in the ALDUB KalyeSerye Interactive effort was the attention given by major news outlets. GMA news programs like 24 Oras, Saksi and Balitanghali would constantly include ALDUB updates in their daily entertainment news. Philippine Daily Inquirer has written a front page article about the ALDUB phenomenon. Even about the alleged Lola Nidora throwback pics. All outlets managed to credit most of these photoshopped pics to Don Simoun Ibarra.
Don Simoun Ibarra is a self-confessed ALDUB fan. He is proud to be part of the ALDUB KalyeSerye Interactive effort. He granted an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer regarding his works. Most of the lessons found in the hit KalyeSerye are partly concealed. Just like his identity. And just like how Lola Nidora had to keep reminding YayaDUB to restrain herself. No matter how much she liked Alden. She’s making things too easy for Alden. Sometimes, the wanting is sweeter than the having.
And despite having a sketchy past, Alden and YayaDUB never used it against Lola Nidora to let their happiness prevail over her pride. YayaDUB still respects her as her employer and pseudo-surrogate parent. And Alden respects her as an elderly woman with whom YayaDUB is still employed with. Lola Nidora is the closest person that she has to a parent. Or so the story implies. While subtlety is not exactly what this KalyeSerye is known for. Fans like Don Simoun Ibarra appreciate the old-fashioned parenting that Lola Nidora imposed on YayaDUB. Getting into ALDUB KalyeSerye Interactive mode allows everyone’s interpretation affect the story’s direction.
Now even other Facebook pages have joined in the fun. They offered their fan art as storyline material for the KalyeSerye crew to use. Eat Bulaga, especially Maine Mendoza herself, were so impressed with the photoshopped images. And the fact that it featured different eras infused knee-slapping humor into pure, unadulterated creativity. Good thing Don Simoun Ibarra applied watermarks on the images. Give credit to where credit is due.
Interested to see more images? Like his official Facebook page, Don Simoun Ibarra. And follow him on Twitter @DonSimounIbarra. He surely had a lot more to offer other than his photoshopping talent. You’d appreciate the biting commentary that comes with the images too. Like Eat Bulaga’s Facebook page too. The ALDUB KalyeSerye Interactive initiative would definitely keep this KalyeSerye interesting.
Now that the fans are now included in the ALDUB KalyeSerye Interactive brainstorming process. There would be more reasons for this website to keep writing about it for the next weeks. It would be great to hear from you through our social media accounts. Like our official Facebook page, The Philippines Web. And follow us on Twitter @pinasamazing. Much appreciated.
