What happened prior to the ALDUB Going Strong episode? The House of De Explorer was reclaimed. Thanks to the benevolence of Divina’s father, Dodong Smash. The details on how Dodong intercepted the sale that was hinted to be closed at ALDUB Ang Pagtatagpo episode was not revealed. It was only revealed how the mansion’s ownership was officially transferred to Divina by virtue of a Transfer Certificate of Title handed by Dodong’s wife, Caitlyn Smash a.k.a. Dudang.
With the De Explorer entourage back in their home, they had to look for a new nanny. Not only for Lola Nidora. As of the ALDUB Going Strong episode, it was revealed that Donya Tinidora herself has health problems of her own. “Tumaas ang blood pressure ko. 130 overdose.” (My blood pressure spiked up.) Bossing Vic Sotto heard differently though. “Akala ko 130 over bale.” (I thought it’s a hundred and thirty peso cash advance.) Donya Tinidora acknowledged the boss’ quip. “Hindi na nga ako nakakabale eh.” (I don’t even get to advance cash anymore.) Bossing Vic then changed the topic. “Pero ang ganda mo ngayon ano?” (But you look beautiful today, don’t you?) Donya Tinidora somewhat blushed.
Donya Tinidora has taken measures of restoring her health into her own hands. She resumed her dance exercises a.k.a. Zumba lessons at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Kaya mag-ingat sa matataba. Alam mo naman yung nangyari sa akin nung kamakailan.” (So be careful with fatty foods. You know what happened to me recently.) In this vein, she ended up welcoming the KalyeSerye commentary panel into the ALDUB Going Strong episode. Donya Tidora still hasn’t returned from whatever errand she got into. [Paolo Ballesteros’ status at Eat Bulaga is still missing in action as of this writing.]
Later at the ALDUB Going Strong episode, Lola Nidora arrived with Divina to the tune of “Work Work Work”. Donya Tinidora and Bossing Vic Sotto would sing along using the words “kwek kwek kwek” in reference to the popular street food. It was here where Lola Nidora confirmed that the search for a new nanny is on. The family may not have financialy recovered that much despite their return to the mansion. But they apparently have enough money for another nanny. With Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB now back in school, the household had to look for another nanny to watch over the grannies.
Lola Nidora shortly arrived with Divina aboard a tricycle with the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio. She immediate asked her sister.“Tinidora, okay ba ang pakiramdam mo?” (Is your health okay now?) Donya Tinidora replied. “Nage-exercise na nga ako eh. Relax na relax na ako. San ba kayo galing?” (I’ve been exercising. Been relaxing too. Where have you been?) Divina replied in behalf of Lola Nidora at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Wala po. Namasyal lang po kami ni Lola. Nag-ikot-ikot lang po.” (Nothing much. We just strolled. Just went around the area.)
Lola Nidora felt a little apologetic about not strolling with Donya Tinidora prior to the ALDUB Going Strong episode.“Ang aga mo kaninang umalis sa mansion. Sana naisama kita.” (You left the mansion so early. I could have taken you with me.) Donya Tinidora didn’t have a problem with it though. “Okay lang. Maaga kasi akong nag-Zumba Zumba. Okay na okay na ako. Nagpa-checkup na nga ako. 130 over acting na ako.” (It’s okay. I went to my Zumba sessions early. I’m so okay now. I had a checkup too. My blood pressure is already at 130 over acting.)
Divina a.k.a. YayaDUB still hasn’t forgotten her nanny duties. “Lola, nainom nyo na po ba yung pang-maintenance nyo?” (Have you taken your maintenance medication?) Donya Tinidora replied. “Ininom ko sabay sabay para di ko na malimutan.” (I took them all in one gulp so that I wouldn’t forget.) Divina almost broke the fourth wall at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Parang may kilala akong ganyan.” (I think I know someone who actually does that.)
Lola Nidora then started with her reminders to Donya Tinidora. “Tinidora, wag mong kakalimutan ang gamot mo ha?” (Don’t forget your medicine, okay?) Donya Tinidora replied at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Hindi ko kinakalimutan. Halimbawa 3 times a day. Ginagawa ko na lang 1 time a day.” (I don’t forget. For example, taking one pill 3 times a day. I just make it once a day.) Divina had to remind Donya Tinidora how wrong this practice is. “Lola, mali po yun.” (Granny, that’s wrong.)
Divina then saw Lola Nidora pull out her medicine kit. “Chewyble.” Lola Nidora decided to share her medicine kit with her sister. “Baka nakakalimutan mong uminom ng gamot.” (You might be losing track of your maintenance medication.) Donya Tinidora insisted that she hasn’t forgotten. “Hindi. Okay na ako.” (No. I’m okay.) Lola Nidora still offered sharing her chewables. “Chewyble.” Donya Tinidora wasn’t exactly into chewables though. “Ayoko ng mga chewyble. Gusto ko yung nilulunok ko lang.” (I don’t like chewables. I just want to swallow them.)
Donya Tinidora didn’t feel like being dependent on medication. “Alam mo naman ang panahon ngayon. Mainit. Tapos puro taba pa yung …. Ay sori, Ruby.” (You know how the weather is lately. Scorching hot. Then most food is fatty …. I’m sorry, Ruby.) Ruby was at the KalyeSerye commentary panel at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. She appeared to be hurt. [Note: The “fat” joke is done tastefully in Tagalog.]
It prompted Bossing Vic to speak. [The playful banter is still present in this part of the ALDUB Going Strong episode.] “Nakakasakit kayo ng damdamin eh. Bumusina muna kayo.” (You’re hurting feelings. Honk first [before saying the word “fat”].) Ruby then asked Donya Tinidora. “Lola, turuan mo ako nung Zumba Zumba ha? Para malusaw ang taba.” (Please teach me Zumba. So that the fat in me would melt.) Donya Tinidora then taught some moves to the beat of hip hop music. Lola Nidora and Divina soon joined her.
Lola Nidora appreciated the workout. Not the music. “Bakit ganyan na yung mga tunog? Wala nang gaanong salita.” (How come music sounds like that now? They don’t contain much words.) Donya Tinidora thought it’s a trend as of the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Kaya dumadami ang foreign singer. Kasi wala na silang problema sa lyrics.” (No wonder there are getting more and more foreign singers [here in the Philippines]. They don’t have problems with lyrics.)
Donya Tinidora then invited her companions to rest. And to remind Lola Nidora as well. “Ano nga ba yung sasabihin mong hindi matuloy-tuloy?” (What is it that you’re saying again that keeps getting interrupted?) Lola Nidora then tried to speak. “Gusto ko lang naman sana sabihin sa inyo na yung-” (I just wanted to tell you-) Phone rings at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. Bossing Vic was a little fed up with how Lola Nidora keeps getting interrupted. “Ano ba yan? Baka abutin na naman ng isang linggo yung sasabihin.” (What now? What she’s about to say might take another week to be said.)
Donya Tinidora found Bossing Vic’s quip funny. “Nabubwisit na si Marvic sa yo.” (Marvic is getting upset with you.) Lola Nidora answered the phone. “Hello? Yes, Madam President.” Donya Tinidora speculated on who could it be. “Si Eula Valdez ata ‘to.” (This might be Eula Valdez.) [Eula Valdez played the role of the fictional female president at the late morning TV series “Princess in the Palace”.]
Lola Nidora repeated only a few lines from person she talked to on the phone at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Ganun po ba? Pasensiya na po kayo, Madam President. Sige po. Pupunta po ako diyan. Agad agad.” (Is that so? I apologize for the inconvenience. Okay. I would go there. Immediately.)
Donya Tinidora’s speculations refused to rest at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Madam President? Paano nangyari yun?” (How did that happen?) Bossing Vic was interested too. “Sino ba yun?” (Who was it?) Donya Tinidora relayed the question to Lola Nidora. “Sino daw ba yun?” (Who was it?) Lola Nidora replied. “E di yung presidente ng Homeowners natin.” (The president of the Homeowners’ Association.)
Divina felt relieved. “Lola, akala naman namin.” (All along we thought.) Lola Nidora summarized the call. “Pinapatawag ako. Kasi ang dami daw tao sa tapat ng mansion natin.” (She wanted me to go to her office. There are so many people in front of the mansion.) Donya Tinidora suddenly remembered the job posting Lola Nidora made on the classified ads before the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Naku, ate. Baka yung mga gustong mag-apply na kasambahay.” (They might be applicants for being our next domestic helper.)
Lola Nidora revealed the rest of the details at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Nagrereklamo daw yung mga kapitbahay dahil maingay sila sa pila. Dito muna kayo ha? Ayusin ko lang yun. Baka mamaya, ma-petition na naman tayo ng mga Homeowners. Mapalayas na naman tayo sa mansion.” (The neighbors were complaining because the queuing line was noisy. Stay here for now, okay? I’d just fix it. The Homeowners’ might have us petitioned. It might lead to another eviction.)
Divina didn’t think it was riotous enough to be worried about. “Lola, aalis na kayo agad? Hayaan na lang po natin sila dun, lola.” (You’re leaving so soon? Let’s just leave them there, granny.) Lola Nidora disagreed. “Hindi puede. Aayusin ko yung gulo dun. Tumawag na nga yung presidente.” (I can’t. I have to get rid of the ruckus there. The president herself called.) Donya Tinidora somewhat blamed Lola Nidora for the trouble. “Pambihira ka kasi. Ba’t in-announce announce mo pa nang ganun?” (Why do you have to announce a job hunt like that [on the classifieds]?)
Rihanna’s “Work” started playing on the background again. It somewhat stumped Lola Nidora’s exist as this track makes her dance like a duck at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Papano ako makakaalis nito?” (How do I leave [with this track playing in the background]?) Divina just bade her goodbye. “Lola, ingat po kayo. Balik po kayo ha?” (Careful on the way. Be back soon, okay?) Donya Tinidora just let Lola Nidora go. “Tingnan mo tong si ate. Iniwan na naman tayong dalawa. Di bale. Tayo lang naman ang magkamukha.” (Look at elder sister. She left us again. Never mind. We are the ones who are identical anyway.)
Divina agreed. “Sa inyo po ako nagmana eh.” (I got my looks from you.) Donya Tinidora replied. “Oo naman.” (But of course.) Donya Tinidora ended up justifying the need for another domestic helper. “Yung career na niya inaayos. Tapos may nanliligaw pa diyan.” (She [Divina] is now getting set with her career. She even has a suitor on the side.) Divina wasn’t expecting the last quip from Donya Tinidora at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Lola, grabe naman po kayo.” (Granny, you’re too much.)
Donya Tinidora maintained her stance at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Nakakahiya namang dadalawin ka. Tapos naka-apron ka pa rin.” (It would be embarrassing to let him see you. And you’re still wearing an apron.) Donya Tinidora was horrified at seeing Divina as a nanny way back in ALDUB Getting Closer episode. So she viewed Divina’s non-nanny status as a positive thing.
Divina admitted how Alden missed the apron too. “Nami-miss din po niya yun, lola. Yung naka-apron ako.” (He missed it too. Those episodes where I had an apron.) Upon mention of Alden, he appeared on the other monitor. He descended from a ladder from the ceiling at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. Donya Tinidora found it amusing. “Kita mo? Mana na rin sa kin itong si Alden.” (See? Even Alden has gotten some attributes from me.)
Bossing Vic found it odd. “San galing ‘to?” (Where had he been?) Donya Tinidora emphasized the ladder. “Nagha-hagdan na rin.” (He’s using a ladder now too.) Bossing Vic saw from where Alden came from. “Galing sa kisame to ah.” (He’s from the ceiling.) Later he started DUBsmashing at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. Donya Tinidora found the track weird-sounding. “Ba’t ganun yung kumakanta? Parang barado yung ilong.” (What’s with that singer? He sounds like he’s got a clogged nose.)
Alden stopped DUBsmashing and greeted them. “Lola. Kumusta po? Magandang hapon.” (Granny. How are you? Good afternoon.) Donya Tinidora replied at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Mabuti naman. At maganda pa kami sa hapon.” (We’re good. And we look better than the afternoon itself.) Alden then mentioned the De Explorer Lenten episode last Holy Week. “Napanood ko po yung Lent special nyo, lola. Parang iba po kayo dun.” (I saw your Lenten episode. You looked different there.)
Donya Tinidora downplayed the illness shown at the Eat Bulaga Lenten episode. “Okay na ang pakiramdam ko, hijo. Inaalagaan ko na yung sarili ko. Minsan inilalagay ko na sa duyan ang sarili ko. At etong si Yaya at mga kapatid ko, hindi naman ako pinapabayaan.” (I feel fine now, son. I’ve been taking care of myself. Sometimes I put myself on the rocking [adult] cradle.)
Alden then switched his attention to Divina at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Divina, kumusta ka na?” (How are you?) Divina replied to Alden. “Eto, okay naman. Masaya. Ikaw?” (I’m okay. I’m happy. You?) Alden then addressed Maine through Divina. A move that has yet to be seen in succeeding episodes after the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Pakisabi naman kay Maine, thank you dun sa blog post.” (Please send Maine my thank you about the blog post.) Divina then replied as if Maine was a third person. “Sige. Itetext ko mamaya. Replyan ka din nun.” (Okay. I’d text her. She’d reply soon enough.)
Alden implied how Maine was a blogger. “Nabasa ko lahat. Kala ko naman biglaan eh.” (I read everything. I thought it was sudden.) Divina had to shift the conversation away at the ALDUB Going Strong episode before the rest would start speculating on their “coded” talk. “Hindi sila nakaka-relate, Alden. Balik na ulit tayo sa ano …” (They can’t relate. Let’s just go back to [KalyeSerye mode].) Alden agreed.
Divina changed the topic. “Alden, na-miss kita in fairness.” (In fairness, I missed you.) Alden disagreed. “Ako, hindi kita na-miss. Alam mo kung bakit? Kasi yung taong nami-miss. Nami-miss mo yung isang tao kapag di mo nakikita madalas. Eh paano ako? Paano kita mami-miss? Kahit saan ako tumingin, ikaw yung nakikita ko.” (I didn’t miss you. You know why? Because that person you miss. You miss that person when you don’t see them that often. How about me? How will I miss you? Everywhere I look, I see you.) It let to a brief DUBsmash exchange at the ALDUB Going Strong episode.
Alden then asked Divina. “Aso ka ba?” (Are you a dog?) Divina asked. “Bakit?” (Why?) Alden replied. “Kasi nasa puso na kita eh. Pakinggan mo. Dog. Dog. Dog. Dog.” (Because you’re already in my heart. Listen to it. Dog. Dog. Dog. Dog.) Divina had some coffee because she can’t force a laugh. So she replied with another joke instead. “Alden, ano muna English ng PIGHATI?” (What is PIGHATI in English?) Alden then tried translating it. “Loneliness?” Divina replied at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Hindi.” (No.) Alden asked again. “Ano?” Divina eventually replied. “Pork chop.”
Alden can’t force a laugh out of him either. So he tried to pacify Donya Tinidora instead. “Lola, wag na po kayong magalit.” (Please don’t get mad.) Donya Tinidora just snapped back. “Pag-untugin ko kayong dalawa.” (I’d have your heads bumped to each other.) Alden then tried to crack another joke at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “May isa pa po ako. Ano ang tawag ng langgam sa kapatid na babae ng nanay niya?” (I still have another one. What do you call the ant’s mother’s sister?) Divina then asked. “Ano?” (What?) Alden replied. “E di ANT-tie.”
Both Donya Tinidora and Bossing Vic are dissatisfied with Alden’s aunt/ant joke. Alden then apologized profusely to Bossing Vic. “Bossing? Joke lang po, bossing.” (Just kidding, bossing.) Bossing Vic then smiled. Divina tried to talk to Bossing Vic then at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Kay Bossing naman ako magjo-joke.” (I will tell a joke now to Bossing.) Bossing Vic agreed. “Uy, okay yan. Sige.” (Cool. Go ahead.) Donya Tinidora was impressed with Divina’s guts. “Lakas ng loob.” (Such confidence.)
Bossing Vic tried to thwart Divina’s joke though early on. “Puedeng bukas na yang tanong mo?” (Can you ask me tomorrow instead?) Donya Tinidora started addressing Bossing Vic in his other perceived name. “Wag naman, Victor!” (Don’t do that, Victor!) Bossing Vic then relented at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Ano yang tanong mo?” (What’s your question?) Divina then went forward with her question. “Ano pong tawag sa Zumba sa loob ng kulungan?” (What do you call Zumba sessions conducted in prison?)
Bossing Vic thought about it for awhile. “Teka muna. Ano?” (Wait a minute. What is it?) Divina replied. “E di Zumbang Preso.” (It’s Zumbang Preso.) Bossing Vic can’t force a laugh either. Alden laughed at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Yung sayaw mo. Yung sayaw mo.” (Do your dance. Do your dance.) He must have referred to her beach dance. Divina danced but not that beach dance. “Ayoko!” (No!)
Alden then begged for another shot. “May tanong ako. Last na.” (I have a question. It’s the last one.) Ruby noted how Alden wanted more at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Hihirit ka pa ha?” (Want one more, huh?) Alden then started. “Merong 3 lalaking tumalon sa beach. Ilan ang nabasa ang buhok?” (There are 3 men who jumped on the beach. How many of them got their hair wet?) Divina asked. “Ilan?” (How many?)
Donya Tinidora tried to answer Alden’s question too. “E di wala. Tumalon lang naman eh.” (None of them. They just jumped.) Alden disagreed. “Hindi po, lola.” (No, granny.) Divina tried a different answer then at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Silang lahat.” (All of them.) Alden replied. “Mali.” (Wrong.) Divina asked. “Bakit?” (Why?) Alden then explained. “Wala. Kasi lahat sila kalbo.” (None of them. All of them are bald.) The KalyeSerye panel was stunned. Bossing Vic, Ruby and even Ryan Agoncillo weren’t laughing.
Alden then apologized. “Dabarkads, joke lang. Joke lang po.” (Just kidding, friends.) Divina tried to outdo Alden’s jokes at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “Bossing, puede pa pong umisa?” (Bossing, may I have another shot?) Bossing Vic found it amusing. “Ah, may follow up ka pa.” (Now you have a follow up.) Divina then asked for Alden’s help. “Alden, suportahan mo ako ha?” (Help me out here, okay?) Alden agreed. “Go. Go. Go.”
Divina then started. “Bossing. Knock knock po.” Bossing Vic wasn’t into the joke early in. “Come in.” Divina appreciated it though. “Thank you po.” Donya Tinidora started calling out Bossing Vic again. “Victor! Inaano mo yung apo ko ha?” (Victor! Stop ruining my grand-niece’s drift, okay?) Bossing Vic laughed it off though and went with Divina’s drift. “Hindi. Who’s there?” (No I’m not. Who’s there?) Divina replied. “Duling si Aga.” Bossing Vic found it an odd choice of phrase for a knock knock joke. “Duling si Aga who?” Divina then started singing. “Mag-exercise tayo. Duling si Aga.” Alden laughed.
Bossing Vic was stunned. Divina then kept her promise. “Bossing, last na po yun.” (It’s the last joke [for today].) Bossing Vic tried to make amends for not laughing to Divina’s joke at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. “May request lang ako. Si Alden na lang muna ang kausapin mo ha?” (I have one request. Just talk to Alden, okay?) Divina and Alden then resumed their small talk.
Outside, a loud voice was heard. “Backpack! Backpack!” Soon the person squealing entered the room where Donya Tinidora and Divina sat. It was Dok Dora De Explorer. Everyone was happy to see her. Alden asked her. “Kumusta ka na, Dora?” (How are you, Dora?) Dok Dora happily replied. “Okay lang ako, Alden. Ang pogi pogi mo!” (I am okay. You look so handsome.)
Nobody expected Dok Dora to arrive. It turns out that she learned of Donya Tinidora’s health issues too. It was a brief brush with death enough to push Dok Dora to return to the Philippines and prescribe medicine to her grand-aunt. Donya Tinidora was hesitant to accept Dok Dora’s little bottle of drug. “Cuticle remover ito eh.” (This is a cuticle remover.) The bottle shown at the ALDUB Going Strong episode was pink enough to look like a cuticle remover fluid container.
Dok Dora denied that it’s cuticle remover. She even proudly showed the Dok Dora logo. For her, as long as the foot is raised in the photo, it’s legit. She also used her appearance to warn the public about fake Dok Dora drugs circulating around the community. Donya Tinidora accepted the little bottle with some reservations. Alden then wished to see Dok Dora and Lola Nidora in the same spot at the ALDUB Going Strong episode. The idea creeped out Dok Dora though.
Shortly, Divina’s phone rang. One of the Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio handed it to her to answer. Soon, she learned that it’s Lola Nidora calling her. And she’s having a panic attack. Divina ended up panicking herself. As she tried to get more details from Lola Nidora, the truck horn honked off. Ending the ALDUB Going Strong episode on a cliffhanger.
