[ALDUB Gift of Joy Featured Image from the Eat Bulaga Facebook Page.] The ALDUB Gift of Joy episode opened with Alden and Divina. They briefly discussed the gift they received at the ALDUB 9th Monthsary episode. While Alden has done several movies with GMA Films before, this would be Maine Mendoza’s first project with them. [Also, Alden’s most famous film under GMA Films was the psycho-thriller “The Road”.]
[Note: Just an observation, Eat Bulaga. What happened to the HD-level uploads? Are you focusing on the telecasts now? As of the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode, the resolution is still at 640×360. If you have read or even just skimmed the ALDUB 9th Monthsary episode recap that I just wrote, you’d see how the screengrabs I made were at a grainy level. It helped that I could embed your YouTube clips on the recaps though for the non-Filipino viewers to watch again after seeing the English transcript.]
Divina has acquired Donya Tinidora’s attribute of counting off to the time that some characters arrive. She asked Alden to join her in counting to anticipate the arrival of the grannies at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “1? 2? 3?” The SUV horn honks off. And the camera pans off to a tricycle. Yaya Pak was clinging outside the tricycle. The grannies are inside. And there are only 2 Rogelios present.
Everyone hopped off the tricycle. They danced to “Work” just like before. The Rogelios were enjoying dancing at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. They forgot to turn off the engine. Lola Nidora scolded them. “Umaandar yung makina.” (The engine is still on.) Divina just told them. “Patayin nyo muna.” (Turn it off first.) The one Rogelio driving the tricycle turned it off.
Donya Tinidora got tired from the trip. “Matutulog muna ako.” (I’d go to sleep first.) Alden had to remind her from his den. “Lola, nagsisimula pa lang po tayo.” (Granny, we’re just about to start.) Lola Nidora greeted everyone present at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Hello, Alden. Hello, Divina. Nauna ka na pala dito.” (So you made it here ahead of me.) Divina admitted. “Kanina pa po ako.” (I’ve been here for quite awhile.)
Turns out that Lola Nidora had been looking for her. “Kaya pala tawag ako nang tawag sa mansion. Walang sumasagot. Akala ko naman, tulog ka dahil kakapanood natin ng pelikula kagagi.” (Now that’s why I kept calling at the mansion. Nobody’s answering the phone. I thought you’re asleep because we’re watching movies all night.) Divina reasoned out. “Hindi po, lola. Pinapanood ko lang po yung tama pong pag-arte.” (No, granny. I was just watching the right way to act.)
Divina has been doing some preparations after the ALDUB 9th Monthsary episode. “Yung tama po pag namamali ka. Yung mga ganun po, lola.” (Like what to do when you get it wrong. Stuff like that, granny.) Yaya Pak heard Divina’s problem at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Ano ba yan, Divina? Yun lang pala problema mo?” (What gives, Divina? That’s what your problem is?)
Divina thought research as of the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode is good. “Oo. Bakit? Siempre kelangan kong pag-aralan yun.” (Yes. Why? Of course I need to learn that.) Lola Nidora reiterated the advice she gave at the previous episode. “Pag-aralan mo ang makakaganda sa gusto mong gawin.” (Learn what can produce good results to what you’d like to do.) Donya Tinidora added. “Mas maganda kung may makakatulong sa yo.” (It would be better if someone can help you.)
Yaya Pak then volunteered at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Ay naku. Mga madam. Wag na kayong maghanap pa ng iba. Because problem solved. Mga lola, hindi nyo ba alam? Dati akong pumasok sa showbiz noon. Ang dami kong alam pagdating sa pag-arte-arte. Tulungan kitang mag-practice.” (Oh my. Madams. Stop looking for someone else. Grannies, don’t you know? I once entered showbiz before. I know a lot when it comes to acting. Let me help you practice.)
Lola Nidora was both skeptical and nervous. “Ano maitutulong mo? (What help can you give?) Alden chided Yaya Pak for her showbiz claim. “Yaya Pak, patingin ng showbiz.” (Let me see your showbiz wares.) Yaya Pak heard Alden. “Showbiz? Mamaya papakita ko sa yo, Papa Alden.” (I’d show you later, Papa Alden.)
Lola Nidora has good reason to be nervous at the ALDUB Gift of Joy. “Baka mamaya kung anu-ano ang tinuturo mo dito. Pasayawin mo ‘to sa bubong ng tricycle. Paakyatin mo sa puno.” (You might make her do various stuff. You might make her dance on top of the tricyle sidecar. Of make her climb a tree.)
Yaya Pak didn’t think Lola Nidora should be that worried. “Ganyan po talaga sa mga workshop. Kasama na po yun kung gusto nyo ng action.” (It’s really part of the workshop. They’re included if you’d like some action.) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Donya Tinidora thought it’s worth a try. “Sige. Tingnan natin ha? Practice kayo ni Divina.” (Okay. Let’s see. You practice with Divina.)
Lola Nidora then let Yaya Pak. “Mag-practice nga kayo.” (You practice.) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Divina was clear about what she wanted from this pseudo-workshop. “Gusto kong matutunan yung mga ano. Yung mga drama. Ganun. Yung tipong may sampalan. Kung pano yung gagawin.” (I’d like to learn stuff. Like drama. That stuff. The one with slapping scenes. On what I should do.)
Bossing Vic gave a quick tip. “Sampalin mo kaagad! Sampalin mo kaagad!” (Slap her quick! Slap her quick!) Yaya Pak kept tab of Divina’s instructions. “Yun po. May sampala.” (There. Slapping scenes.) Yaya Pak then checked what area they got at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Siempre unahin mo yung blocking mo.” (You have to prioritize blocking.) [Blocking is usually noted in theater. But in TV, it’s mostly about knowing your place in front of the camera.]
Alden still held the clapper he and Divina received from the ALDUB 9th Monthsary gift box. “Ready na yung clapper ko.” (My clapper is ready.) Donya Tinidora tried to position Divina and Yaya Pak in front of the camera. Yaya Pak’s height was a minor concern for Donya Tinidora at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Shorter ka. Kelangan kita mukha mo.” (You’re shorter. Your face should be seen.)
Lola Nidora talked to Divina again. “Ang gusto mo, may sampalan. Ang magaling na artista, walang arte. Hindi ka mapili sa kung anong gagawin. Go agad. Ang tawag dun, professionalism. Sampalin mo agad.” (You want slapping scenes. A good actress has no inhibitions. You’re not choosy with what needs to be done. Go. That’s called professionalism. Slap her quick.) At that point in the ALDUB Gift of Joy. Allan K had a little problem though. “Walang dialogue?” (No lines?)
Yaya Pak somewhat sensed a pattern. “Parang may galit kayo sa ‘kin.” (Seems like you hate me.) Lola Nidora denied the hate. “Hindi. Hindi.” (No. No.) Donya Tinidora went into director mode at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Bigyan natin ng eksena. Eto eksena. Kunyari magkapatid kayo. Tapos naiinggit ka dito kay Divina.” (Let’s give them a scene. Here’s the scene. For example, you’re sisters. Then you’re envious of Divina.)
At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Donya Tinidora continued giving instructions to Yaya Pak. “Kasi lahat, siya na lang ang paborito. Lahat sa kanya na lang napupunta. Magagalit ka ngayon. Paglapit mo sa kanya, mag-uusap na kayo.” (Because she is everyone’s favorite. Everything ends up with her. You’d hate her. Once approaching her, you’d start talking.)
Donya Tinidora then turned to Divina. “Sasampalin mo na kaagad. Di pa bumubuka ang bibig mo.” (You’d slap her quick. You haven’t opened your mouth at that time.) Divina found the scene given at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode to be a little harsh. “Lola, wag ganun.” (Granny, not that.) Yaya Pak protested. “Agad agad? Lola, dapat may line muna.” (So soon? Granny, she should have a line first.)
Donya Tinidora just provided further instructions without any script. “Nag-aagawan kayo ng kahit ano.” (You’re fighting over any random item.) [So obviously, at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode’s pseudo-workshop, improv is still the main element.] Alden was ready with his clapper. “Scene 1. Shot 1. Take 1. 5 4 3 2 … Action.”
Donya Tinidora then declared. “Okay, sandali. Break muna tayo.” (Let’s take a break.) Yaya Pak was aghast. “Bakit break?” (Why a break?) Even Alden was perplexed. “Lola, agad?” (Granny, so soon?) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Allan K commented too. “Wala pa ngang ginagawa eh.” (You haven’t done anything yet.) Donya Tinidora justified the so-called early break. “Nagugutom ang artista eh.” (Your actors are hungry.) Boss Joey quipped. “Ang aga namang break niyan.” (That’s an early break.)
Divina’s resourcefulness was put to use again. “Lola, kelangan ko po ng kausap. Puede po ba si Alden?” (Granny, I need a sounding board. Can you let that be Alden?) Alden was willing. “Sige. Sali ako sa eksena.” (Okay. I’m in the scene too.) Donya Tinidora tweaked the supposed scene at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Tapos dadating ka ha?” (Then you’d come in [while Alden and Divina were talking].) Yaya Pak agreed.
Donya Tinidora even told Yaya Pak where she would come from while Alden and Divina exchanged lines. “Dun ka galing. Sa Katipunan.” (You’d be coming from there. From Katipunan.) The ALDUB Gift of Joy episode crew was at Marikina. Even Boss Joey found that a bit too far. “Ang layo. Mauubos ang negatibo.” (That’s too far. You’d run out of negatives.)
Donya Tinidora started channeling the director vibe at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Okay. Ready. Motor … Walang nagro-roll sa motor. Motor!” (Nobody’s rolling the motor!) Boss Joey interpreted this as a cue to answer. “Rolling!” That’s all that Donya Tinidora needed to hear. “Okay! Action!” Divina started with her sort-of-improv line to Alden. “Huy, Alden! Kumusta ka na ba?” (How are you?) Alden replied. “Okay naman ako, Divina.” (I’m okay, Divina.)
Alden’s line doesn’t sound like an adlib though. “Alam mo? Di ka mawala sa isipan ko.” (You know? I can’t get you off my mind.) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Divina’s line doesn’t sound like an adlib either. “Alam mo? Ikaw din. Hindi nga ako makatulog kagabi kasi iniisip kita.” (Know what? You too. I can’t sleep last night because I was thinking of you.)
Alden ended up revealing a bit about what happened last night a.k.a. The Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Awards that some Eat Bulaga hosts attended. “Pero nag-enjoy ka ba kagabi?” (But did you enjoy last night?) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Divina replied. “Ay, siempre naman. Thank you sa ‘yo. Seryoso. Thank you sa ‘yo.” (But of course. Thank you. Seriously. Thank you.)
Donya Tinidora was also one of the extras behind Divina. “Papasok ako.” (I’d enter the scene.) Alden replied. “You’re welcome.” Divina quipped. “Nami-miss na talaga kita.” (I really miss you.) Alden felt the same. “Miss you too.” Divina asked. “Hindi ka pa ba pupunta rito?” (Aren’t you coming over here?) Alden asked Divina back. “Gusto mo ba?” (Do you want to?) Divina said yes. “Oo.” Alden agreed at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode.
At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Divina asked Alden again. “Pupunta ka? Aantayin kita ha? Aantayin kita mamaya. Send ko sa ‘yo address ha? Dalhin mo kotse mo dito.” (You’re coming? I’d be waiting, okay? I’d be waiting for you later. I’d send you the address later. Bring your car here.) Again, Alden’s line doesn’t sound like an adlib. “Oo naman. Lagi naman eh.” (Yes, of course. I always do.)
Allan K was just annoyed with the extras looking at the camera. “Dami naman extra. Paulit-ulit.” (Too many extras. Same people.) Donya Tinidora justified her cameos with Lola Nidora at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Passers by.” Alden went back to talking to Divina. “Di ba sabi mo, gusto mong i-drive?” (You said you wanted to drive it, right?)
Divina had other ideas. “Gusto ko lang imaneho. Pero okay lang ba kung ibangga ko?” (I just want to drive it. But is it okay if I crash it?) It gave Alden a mini-heart attack. “Wag naman.” (Please don’t.) Divina justified her suggestion at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Sabi mo, insured naman eh. Eh ako? Insured ba ako?” (You said that it’s insured anyway. How about me? Am I insured?) Alden replied. “Oo naman. Insured ka sa puso ko.” (Of course. You’re insured in my heart.)
Yaya Pak then approached Divina to start the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode’s skit. “Hay naku. Eto na nga bang sinasabi ko. Akalain mo nga naman. Suot mo na naman yang blouse na binili ko. Sinasabi ko na nga ba. Malikot ang kamay mo.” (Oh my. This is what I’ve been saying. Who would have thought? You’re wearing the blouse that I bought. I said it. You have suspicious hands.)
Alden knew what to say in this skit. “Sandali. Sino ka ba?” (Wait. Who are you?) Yaya Pak just heard the voice since she doesn’t immediately see the monitor at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Sino yung nagsalita?” (Who spoke?) Divina replied. “Ate, si Alden.” (Elder sister, it’s Alden.) Yaya Pak’s line was. “Wag mo kong ma-ate-ate.” (Don’t call me elder sister.)
Divina acted nervous. “Alden, ate ko.” (Alden, my elder sister.) Yaya Pak heard the name. “Andyan si Alden?” (Alden is there?) Divina still acted nervous. “Ate, sori.” (I’m sorry, elder sister.) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy. Yaya Pak played the bitchy elder sister well. “Siya ang kausap mo? Hi, Alden.” (You’re talking to him.)
At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Yaya Pak’s lines consisted of soap opera staples regarding sibling rivalry. “Wag kang maka-sori-sori sa mga ninakaw mong blouse sa akin. Dahil lahat na lang, ninakaw at inagaw mo. Pati pagmamahal nina Papa at Mama. Inagaw mo na rin sa akin. Bata pa lang tayo, alam ko nang inggitera ka. Ngayon? Ngayong mga dalaga na tayo, pati ba naman ang lalaking pinakamamahal ko, gusto mong agawin?”
(Don’t tell me you’re sorry for the blouse you stole from me. Because you snagged and stole everything away from me. Even the love of Papa and Mama. You stole it from me. Way back when we were kids, I knew you’re a green-eyed monster. Now? Now that we’ve grown up, you wanted the man I love too?)
Yaya Pak had to finish her line for Divina to know what to do. “Anong klaseng …? Ang kapal mo!” (What kind of …? The nerve!) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Divina, out of hesitation, tapped Yaya Pak’s cheek. She’s supposed to slap her though. “Ate. Mag-hunos-dili ka.” (Elder sister, take hold of yourself.) That’s when Donya Tinidora called out. “Cut!”
Yaya Pak complained. “Ba’t mo kinat?” (Why did you cut it?) Donya Tinidora mentioned blocking concerns at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Sapaw eh.” (You’re not seen enough.) Yaya Pak couldn’t believe it. Donya Tinidora tried to position him in a way that all cameras can capture her movements. Yaya Pak still complained. “Lola, paganti na ako.” (Granny, I’m about to slap back.)
Bossing Vic commented too based on his viewpoint. “Lola, hindi tumama eh.” (Granny, it didn’t get captured.) Boss Joey quite agreed with Bossing Vic. This is where crew jargon gets mentioned. It was minimized though to keep the focus on the workshop aired at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Donya Tinidora summed it up best. “Walang daya kasi ito eh.” (This [slap] is not done via angles.)
Divina had to apologize to Yaya Pak for the slap. Yaya Pak thought it’s fine. “Okay lang. Kasi gaganti naman ako diyan.” (It’s okay. I will retaliate later anyway.) Donya Tinidora also taught Divina the right way to slap. “Dere-derecho lang kamay mo. Ganun.” (Keep your hand straight. Like that.) She then slapped Yaya Pak. At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Yaya Pak felt hurt. “Aray! Bakit totoo?” (Ouch! Why is it real?)
Donya Tinidora justified the realistic slap. “Hindi puedeng malambot.” (It can’t be soft.) [That scene at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode reminded me of certain veteran actresses that slap for real. Especially if their co-stars allowed them and the latter has problems inducing tears needed for the scene.] Allan K felt bad for Yaya Pak though. “Bigat ng kamay ni Lola.” (Granny had a heavy hand.)
At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Yaya Pak felt the need to ask Donya Tinidora. “Dati ba kayong director?” (Are you a former director?) Donya Tinidora replied. “Oo.” (Yes.) Yaya Pak just left the next scenes to Donya Tinidora’s discretion. “Sige po.” (Okay.) Donya Tinidora broke the fourth wall again. “May mic pa kasi.” (Why do we even have these handheld mics?) The last time lapel mics were used was during the ANSERA series.
Lola Nidora told Donya Tinidora to tone down the slaps. “Baka mawalan ng malay.” (She might lose consciousness.) Donya Tinidora thought Yaya Pak should bank on her strengths at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Pagkasabi mo ng RAWR RAWR RAWR!” Yaya Pak’s garbled angry rant will be Divina’s signal to slap her. Divina was fine with it.
Donya Tinidora tried to resume the scene. “Lights! Motor!” It was Bossing Vic’s turn to reply. “Rolling!” That was Donya Tinidora’s signal to say. “Action!” Yaya Pak repeated part of her line. Divina heard the keyword and slapped Yaya Pak. At the ALDUB Gift of Joy. Yaya Pak felt her cheek. “Na-mild stroke ako.” (I feel a mild stroke.) Divina had to slap her again to bring her consciousness back to the scene.
That’s when Yaya Pak adlibbed. “Gagantihan kita!” (I will avenge against you!) Divina ducked like Neo avoiding bullets. Donya Tinidora yelled “Cut!” Allan K thought the cut was too soon. Donya Tinidora had to remind the “actresses” to stay where they are. “Tandaan nyo yung position nyo ha?” (Keep in mind your positions.) Yaya Pak agreed. Donya Tinidora planned to continue shooting from that scene in the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode.
Donya Tinidora didn’t want to waste time. “Balik muna tayo dun. Aabutan tayo ng dilim.” (Let’s get back there. [The slapping scene.] Before it gets dark.) Yaya Pak didn’t think it would take THAT long. “Sasampal lang, lola. Paanong aabutan ng dilim?” (It’s just a slapping scene, granny. Why would it take until dusk?)
Lola Nidora was impressed with how Divina tried to avoid the slap. “Divina, ang galing. Pano ang iwas?” (You’re good. How did you duck?) Divina repeated her Neo scene when she tried to duck Yaya Pak’s slap. Just when Yaya Pak was trying to slap back again. Donya Tinidora yelled “Cut!” again. Divina then mentioned. “Prepared po ako, lola.” (I’m prepared, granny.)
Donya Tinidora acted like the assistant director when she asked Bossing Vic. “Direk, tumama ba yung sampal kay Yaya Pak? Direk, okay na sa yo?” (Direk, did the slap land on Yaya Pak? Is that okay with you?) Bossing Vic acted as the default director at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Parang hindi eh.” (Doesn’t look like it.) Allan K reacted too. “Hindi kita, eh.” (It’s not that seen.)
Donya Tinidora used the feedback to reshoot the scene. “Isa pa daw.” (One more.) Allan K even suggested. “Reverse camera.” Bossing Vic voiced out his concern too at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Timing eh.” (It’s in the timing.) Boss Joey’s concern is for Yaya Pak. “Safety. Safety. Safety.” Donya Tinidora thought that the slap should be done on the other cheek. “Sapaw dito eh. Dito mo na kunin sa kabila.” (It’s gets blocked from here. Do it on the other side.)
The instructions that Donya Tinidora gave were more for the “actresses”, not the cameras. “Kaliwa naman. Para pantay.” (Slap the left side. So both cheeks get fairly slapped.) Lola Nidora also thought that the “actresses” should adjust to the camera instead. “Para kita sa camera.” (So that the slap would be seen on camera.) Same instructions given at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Both Yaya Pak and Divina agreed.
Donya Tinidora even taught Divina a way to slap. “Saka sa likod mo pagalingin ang kamay mo.” (Your hand should swing from behind.) Divina and Yaya Pak agreed. Alden sensed the force gathered from that angle. “May buelo.” (There’s momentum.) Allan K agreed. Alden supported Divina instead. “Divina, bigay mo na lahat. Bigay mo na.” (Give it your all. Just dish it.) Divina replied at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Sige. Sige. Bibigay ko.” (Okay. Okay. I’d give it.)
Donya Tinidora gave the signal and shoot. Yaya Pak and Divina delivered almost the same lines. But this was the part in the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode where both of them we’re almost yelling. Divina swung from behind for the slap. And Yaya Pak reacted. “Aray ko! Totoo yun ha?” (Ouch! That was a real slap!) Divina repeated her line in a shouting manner. “Ate, wala akong ginagawa sa ‘yo!” (Elder sister, I haven’t done anything to you!)
Since this is improv, Yaya Pak did not retaliate. She didn’t wait for Donya Tinidora to yell “Cut!” either. At the ALDUB Gift of Joy. She just pulled Divina and dished out lines in front of the camera. “Humarap ka dito. Kitang kita nyo ang ginawa mo sa ‘kin. Kaya gagantihan kita. Etong para sa yo!” (Face the camera. You all saw what was done to me. So I will retaliate. Take this!) Divina ducked again. Donya Tinidora yelled “Cut!” again. Yaya Pak was livid.
The next thing that everybody realized, Yaya Pak picked up a live chicken while complaining. “Bakit ganyan?” (Why?) She complained about the chicken that interrupted her scene at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode too. “May dumaang manok! Ano ka ba naman? Agaw eksena ka!” (A chicken crossed the road! What the heck? You’re stealing my thunder!) Both Divina and Donya Tinidora were beside themselves from laughing so hard.
Allan K can’t see the little fowl well. “Manok ba yan o kalapati?” (Is that a chicken or a pigeon?) The camera focused on the bird. It was a chicken without the red top. Yaya Pak was half-amused, half-pissed with the chicken. “Pati ba naman ang manok na to?” (Even this chicken?) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy. Donya Tinidora asked Yaya Pak. “Bakit mo hinawakan? Buzzer pa ang hinihintay niyan.” (Why did you pick it up? It’s just waiting for the buzzer.)
Lola Nidora just realized what happened at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Nagulat ako. Pagliyad ni Divina, may lumabas na manok.” (I was startled. Once Divina ducked, a chicken came out.) Donya Tinidora was mindblown. “Nanganak ka ng manok!” (You gave birth to a chicken!) Divina called Alden. “Alden!” Alden asked what. “Ano yun?” (What?) Divina told him. “Panagutan mo ko.” (Take responsibility for this.) Alden just scratched his head at the thought of having a chicken for an offspring.
Yaya Pak got mindblown with the turn of events as well. “Ano ba yan? Parang fantasy ang ginagawa natin.” (What the heck? We’re like doing a fantasy scene.) Yaya Pak went back to the scene where Donya Tinidora yelled “Cut!” and resumed her lines at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Alden, nakita mo naman kung sino sa aming dalawa ang nanakit at hindi nanakit. Ngayon mamili ka.” (You saw who slapped and who didn’t. Now, choose.)
Yaya Pak included Alden well into the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode skit. “Sinong pipiliin mo? Ako o si Ate Divina?” (Who would you choose? Me or my elder sister Divina?) Donya Tinidora yelled again. “Freeze! Yang eksena na yan. Duma-drama ka na kay Alden.” (Right there at that scene. You’re now going drama on Alden.) Allan K noticed the chicken. “Kumikilos yung manok eh.” (The chicken is moving.)
Donya Tinidora continued with the instructions. “Pareho na kayong ano kay Alden. Kung sino ang pipiliin. Pumapatak na kailangan ang mga luha natin dito. Drama tayo ngayon.” (You’re both [pleading] with Alden. On who he should choose. Your tears should be seen by here now. We’re doing drama now.) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Lola Nidora suggested. “Turuan mo mag-freeze ito.” (Teach this [chicken] how to freeze.)
Donya Tinidora tried to give instructions to the chicken in chicken speak. “Pak pak pakak.” Then she turned back to Yaya Pak. “Ikaw muna magda-dialogue. Kailangan ko ng luha.” (You say your lines first. I need tears.) Donya Tinidora tried resuming the shoot again with signals given by Bossing Vic for him to yell “Action!” Yaya Pak then started with her lines at the ALDUB Gift for Joy episode.
“Alden, ilang taon akong nag-antay para lang mahalin mo ako. Tapos ano? Eto lang ang mapapala ko? Hindi mo ako pipiliin? Alden, hawak ko ang pamilya mo. Ako ang piliin mo, Alden. Dahil kung hindi, isa-salvage ko ‘tong manok na ‘to.” (I wanted for several years for you to love me. Then what? This is all that I’d end up with? You won’t pick me? Alden, I have your family. Pick me, Alden. Otherwise, I’d have this chicken murdered.)
Boss Joey waited for tears to fall. “Babagsak na oh.” (They’re about to fall.) Allan K saw the tears fall. “Bumagsak nga.” (They have fallen.) He then prompted the audience’s applause. “Palakpakan na may kasamang sigawan!” (Clap your hands and make noise!) The audience present at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode was very happy as well.
Donya Tinidora then psyched Divina for her lines at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Gaganti si Maine. Si Maine naman ang magsasalita. Ikaw naman kakausap kay Alden. Kelangan makumbinsi mo siya.” (Maine will avenge herself. It’s Maine’s turn to speak. You talk to Alden. You have to convince him.) Donya Tinidora then set everyone. “Lights! Motor!” Bossing Vic replied. “Rolling!” Then Donya Tinidora yelled. “Action!”
Divina channeled Ging Ging’s voice to sound like she’s about to cry. “Alden? Alden, di ba sabi mo sa ‘kin, mahal mo ko? Mahal kita eh. Sabi mo sa ‘kin, di mo ko iiwan. Alden, ako na lang piliin mo.” (Alden, didn’t you tell me that you love me? You told me that you won’t leave me. Alden, pick me.) The KalyeSerye commentator didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Alden’s eyes started to get watery.
Divina even quoted some lines from the film “One More Chance” in her adlibs. “Alden, ako na lang. Ako na lang ulet. Alden, ako na lang ulet.” (Make it me. Make it me again. I want it to be me again.) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy. Divina just had some difficulty shedding tears. So she just poured a little bucket of water on her face to make them look like tears.
Allan K was both impressed and amused. “Ang daming luha! Kumalat sa buong mukha!” (That’s a lot of tears! It spread all over her face!) Donya Tinidora saw Alden shed tears though. “Umiyak na si Alden. Mas magaling ito.” (Alden has cried. He’s better.) At the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. Donya Tinidora then gave Alden the signal to speak. “Sasagot si Alden. Pipili na.” (Alden will reply. He’ll choose.)
Alden started his lines in the middle of his tears at the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode. “Di ba sabi ko sa yo, ako ang bahala sa yo? Pati luha mo. Sinalo ko na. Pero siguro, Divina. Malinaw na malinaw sa ‘yo.” (Didn’t I tell you that I will take care of you? I even shed tears in your behalf. I took care of it. But maybe, Divina. It’s very clear to you.) He was just interrupted with Yaya Pak’s face on his monitor. “Hindi ikaw. Hindi ikaw.” (Not you. Not you.)
Once Divina dominated the monitor again. Alden continued. “Ano pa man ang dumating sa ‘king pagsubok. Kung mawala na lahat. Ikaw ang pipiliin ko.” (Whatever trial comes to me. If I lose everything. I’d choose you.) The truck horn honked off. Ending the ALDUB Gift of Joy episode on a cliffhanger. Boss Joey spoke like a director-producer upon hearing the truck horn. “Pack-up muna tayo. Tuloy tayo bukas same time ha?” (Tomorrow again, same time, okay?)
