Both were still feeling happy with the party that Donya Tidora organized for her sister. Lola Nidora is happy to spend the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode with Donya Tidora. Today is her birthday, making her the youngest among the triplets. Donya Tinidora is still not around. But Lola Nidora assured the ALDUB Nation that she will be back soon.
The KalyeSerye commentators quickly asked for YayaDUB. Lola Nidora said that she was at the gym. “Andun sa gym. Nako-conscious sa figure niya.” (She’s at the gym. She got conscious about her figure.) Lola Nidora heard Donya Babah’s comment about YayaDUB’s figure at the ALDUB Happy BDay Lola episode. It’s a little paradoxical for Donya Babah to say that. She would often mention that model student from Harvard to Alden in the presence of the De Explorer entourage. Aren’t models after the kind of figure that YayaDUB strutted?
Alden appeared on the other monitor at the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode. He greeted Donya Tidora happy birthday complete with “Woo!” gestures. Donya Tidora thanked him. The sisters then asked Alden to guess YayaDUB’s vital statistics. Alden made a wild guess. “36 24 36.” Well, too wild. Donya Tidora’s guess though was closer to guessing Olive Oyl’s vital statistics. “20 20 20.” Lola Nidora tried to correct her. She thought she’s referring to YayaDUB’s eyesight.
Lola Nidora didn’t mind YayaDUB’s figure that much. “Hindi naman importante yung sexy.” (Being sexy is not that important.) Alden then DUBsmashed a song for Lola Nidora at the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode. Lola Nidora was so pleased. She reminded Alden of the lost ring. Well, it was easy for her to mention it with Donya Babah not around. Also, Donya Babah’s passive aggressive attempts at bullying Lola Nidora at the ALDUB Happy BDay Lola episode are still fresh to her memory. So no matter how happy Lola Nidora can be at the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode. She refuses to let go.
YayaDUB then arrived in a bad mood. Not bad enough to forget wearing the half-apron. Most viewers would find that half-apron familiar. She wore it when her character debuted on Eat Bulaga’s now defunct EB Problem Solving segment. The KalyeSerye commentary panel complained about YayaDUB’s foul mood. “Kung gaano naman kayo nagpa-good vibes, ano naman ang nangyari sa apo mo?” (While you are spreading good vibes, what happened to your grand-child?) It was as if YayaDUB is back to her old, bitter self at the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode.
Lola Nidora was scared out of her wits with YayaDUB’s current state of mind. “Ilayo mo ako kay Yaya. Parang sinasapian na naman. Ano bang sinasabi mong hangover?” (Take me away from nanny. She seemed possessed again. What hangover are you talking about?) Donya Tidora earlier speculated that YayaDUB’s attitude might be a side effect of the hangover she had from the ALDUB Happy BDay Lola episode. Lola Nidora asked Alden what happened. “Nun bang kinakarga mo, wala kang ginawa?” (When you carried her, you didn’t do anything?) Alden replied. “Wala po.” (Nothing.)
Alden knew what to do though. He DUBsmashed the Malaysian rant that YayaDUB tried DUBsmashing on the first day they met. ALDUB Episode 1. YayaDUB inadvertently smiled again just like on July 16, 2015. It then resulted in another series of flashbacks. Seems like Alden really enjoys assembling these montages. Of course nostalgia feels good. And it usually takes the bulk of weeksary and monthsary celebrations like this one at the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode. But seriously, it is starting to run its course. Can’t they make new memories anymore like the piggyback rides at the ALDUB Happy BDay Lola episode? [I don’t mean to rain on their parade. But it would be better to have these “fillers” addressed as early as possible. We’re talking about the lack of creativity in moments like this.]
After the Sugod Bahay errand, YayaDUB finally got her own mic to speak to Alden. Nostalgia revealed a downside at the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode. Reliving the power-tripping days of Lola Nidora. This became YayaDUB’s concern. “Wag kang magpapagod. Andami mo nang hirap.” (Don’t stretch yourself too thin. You have worked so hard.) Lola Nidora is not that much of a power-tripper anymore. But she won’t let go of the ring as an issue. “Hindi, papagurin pa natin lalo. Yung singsing.” (No, we will get him more exhausted. The ring.)
YayaDUB is indeed back to her good mood. She delivered another joke to Alden at the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode. “Semester ka ba?” (Are you a semester?) Alden asked why. YayaDUB then sung a line from Kim Chiu’s song using the word SEMESTER. “Ikaw na SEMESTERight?” Everyone had a good laugh with that. Alden then threw another tricky test to YayaDUB. He told her to count one to seven. She did. Then he threw the tricky question. “Ilan ang dwarfs ni Cinderella?” (How many dwarfs does Cinderella have?) YayaDUB answered. “Wala siyang dwarfs!” (She doesn’t have any dwarfs!) Now these “psycho tests” are the real innovations are the KalyeSerye today.
This time, it is YayaDUB delivered a pickup line. “Alden, music ka ba?” (Alden, are you music?) Alden asked why. YayaDUB answered. “Kasi kapag naririnig kita, napapasayaw ako.” (Because every time I hear you, I dance.” That’s when she revealed her surprise for the ALDUB 4th Monthsary festivities. A dance number with the ALDEN clones. Donya Tidora liked it. She then wondered where were the dancers sourced from. “San ka kumuha ng dancers, ate?” (Where did you get the dancers, elder sister?) Lola Nidora had nothing to do with it. “Ewan ko kung saan kinuha.” (I don’t know where she got them.) It was an effort purely from YayaDUB.
Alden thanked YayaDUB for the treat at the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode. “Thank you ha? Alam ko kahit di tayo mag-rehearse, kaya.” (I know that even if we won’t rehearse, we can do it.) He didn’t have any physical gifts at the moment. But he gave 4 promises to YayaDUB. “A. All for one. One for all tayo. Walang iwanan. L. … “D. DUB-best ka sa akin always! U. U complete me. B. BFF mo ako.” (A. Nobody gets left behind. L. … D. You’re DUB-best for me always! U. U complete me. B. I’m your BFF.)
YayaDUB then asked what was the “L” for. Alden just gave a hint. “Pag ready na tayo.” (Once we’re ready.) While they introduced one another as friends in previous episodes like the ALDUB Happy BDay Lola episode. Alden had to be careful about Lola Nidora’s reaction. Especially now that the ring has yet to be found. And Lola Nidora made sure she wouldn’t forget.
The KalyeSerye commentary panel openly speculated on the couple. “Tingin ko di na aabutin ng 1st anniversary ito ah.” (I don’t think there would be an anniversary celebration.) Whether a wedding would precede the ALDUB anniversary or not is everyone’s speculation. Again, Alden included the ALDUB Nation in the festivities. “HAPPY MONTHSARY ALDUB NATION!”
Alden then ran to the audience to hug them. Allan K quickly told the audience members to restrain themselves. “Baka masaktan!” (He might get hurt.) Nobody wanted another “stampede” similar to what happened in Alden’s mall tour leg at the Robinsons’ Mall at Imus, Cavite. The audience was well-behaved though at the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode. They made it easy for Alden to sit at the same spot where YayaDUB first smiled at him.
Almost everyone was already having fun at the ALDUB 4th Monthsary when another SUV arrived. Before Lola Nidora could confirm the guest’s identity. She ordered her Rogelio Rogelio Rogelio to fetch her feathers. As the guest hopped off the SUV, the truck horn honked. The ALDUB 4th Monthsary went into cliffhanger mode again.
Could it finally be Donya Tinidora? Lola Nidora kept on saying that she will be back once her appointments in the United States get cleared. But still no details. Could it be Donya Babah? She has a penchant for gate-crashing events because Alden can always vouch for her. [Remember how Donya Tidora herself was perplexed at the sight of Donya Babah at the party she organized.] Could this mean less “fillers” for the KalyeSerye? Tune in to Eat Bulaga. Overall, there was a dragging element to the ALDUB 4th Monthsary episode. It needs to be said for the sake of improvements. It would be unfair to speculate a creativity drought. It’s too early for that especially now that it’s more than a month before ALDUB’s first movie together will be shown.
