Divina was happily browsing some photos at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Ang ganda naman dito. Naku! Tiyak pupuntahan namin ito. Hindi puedeng hindi namin malagpasan ni Alden. Ganda oh! Venice! Tapos eto rin sa Vatican. Ang dami namang puedeng puntahan. Ano pa?” (It looked so beautiful here. Oh my! For sure we’d go here. We of Alden should not miss this. Awesome! Venice! And at the Vatican too. There are so many places for us to go. What else?)
Divina browsed further. “Ay! Eto yung Leaning Tower of Pisa. Kelangan nakaganun din kami ni Alden dun. Grabe oh. Sa Milan Cathedral, naku. Dalhin kaya ako ni Alden dito?” (Here’s the Leaning Tower of Pisa. We should pose in a leaning way too. Damn. At the Milan Cathedral, oh my. Would Alden bring me here?) The audience present at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode screamed at the idea of Alden taking Divina to the cathedral. [If you know what they mean.]
Divina exclaimed. “Dami pa. Dios ko! Sana kumasya yung oras namin. Sana may panahon para makapaglibot-libot kami. Yung kaming dalawa lang.” (So many sights. My God! I hope we have enough time to roam. Just the two of us.) Alden appeared on the other monitor as Divina was in the middle of browsing at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. He DUBsmashed Savage Garden’s “I Knew I Loved You”.
Alden then asked Divina. “Ano sabi mo, Divina?” (What did you say, Divina?) Divina was a little startled. Alden had to clarify his question at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Anong sabi mo dun sa mga lugar? Maganda?” (What did you say about the places? They’re beautiful?) Divina looked at Alden. He continued. “Mas maganda ka diyan.” (You look more beautiful.) Divina thanked Alden in Italian. “Grazie. Grazie.”
Alden liked it that Divina is learning a little Italian. “Ayan na yung mga Buongiorno.” (There goes the Buongiorno.) Divina showed the pics from her smartphone to Alden too. “Yung mga pictures. Ayan oh! Naghahanap kasi ako ng mga puede nating puntahan. Leaning Tower of Pisa. Magpi-picture tayo. Ganun kunwari.” (Here are the pictures. I’ve been looking for places for us to go. Like the Leaning Tower. We’d have a picture like that.) Alden finished Divina’s sentence at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Tinutulak mo yung tower.” ([Like] You’re pushing the tower.)
Divina went back to browsing her phone at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Eto pa. Florence.” (Here’s more. Florence.) Alden was unfamiliar with it. “Ano yun? Parang mga tore?” (What? Are they like towers?) Boss Joey had other ideas. “Florence de Mayo. Diyan na kayo mag-Santacruzan.” (Have the Santacruzan there.) Divina agreed with Boss Joey. “Sakto. May pa. Tapos eto. Amalfi Coast. Talon tayo dito, Alden, ha?” (Perfect. It’s still May. Then this. Amalfi Coast. Let’s dive here, Alden, okay?)
Alden asked. “Gusto mo?” (You want to?) Divina replied. “Oo. Tatalon tayo dito sa ayaw at sa gusto mo.” (Yes. We will dive here whether you like it or not.) Alden remembered something else at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Sa ayaw at sa gusto mo. Eh sa Enchanted, umiyak ka eh.” (Whether you like it or not. At the Enchanted Kingdom, you cried.) Divina was taken aback. “Eh bakit binabalik mo?” (Then why are you bring it up again?) Alden immediately backtracked. “Oh hindi na. Hindi na.” (Okay I’ll stop. I’ll stop.)
Divina asked Alden. “Inaano ka ba? Weeksary na weeksary natin, ganyan ka! Inaano ka ba?” (What have I done to you? It’s the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary, and you’re doing that! What have I done to you?) Divina ended up wondering. “Saan kaya dito tayo magsu-shoot?” (Which spots will be filmed with us?) Alden tried not to spoil it for the audience present at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Pero nabasa mo yung script di ba? Kelangan talaga Italy natin i-shoot eh.” (But you read the script, right? We really need to shoot it in Italy.)
Divina remembered what Alden said. “Oo nga eh. Kelangan naman pala talaga. Kelangan sa storya eh. Kaya pala pumayag sina Lola.” (Yes indeed. It’s needed after all. It’s needed in the story. No wonder granny agreed.) Alden had to ask Divina at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Kumusta na pala yung surprise?” (How is the surprise going?) Divina directly answered Alden’s question. “Okay na. Naiayos ko na. At sana ma-appreciate nila Lola. Pero okay na. Wag ka nang mag-alala, Alden.” (It’s okay now. I got it set up. And hopefully granny will appreciate it.)
Alden agreed. “Oo. Basta galing sa puso.” (Yes. As long as it’s from the heart.) Divina wasn’t done browsing her phone when Alden DUBsmashed at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Sabihin mo sa akin. Kelan mali ang pag-ibig? Kelangan bang masaktan pa?” (Tell me. When is love wrong? Do we have to get hurt?) Alden was half-DUBsmashing the song and half-singing it. He dared Divina to sing too. She somewhat did.
When Alden DUBsmashed True Faith’s “Dahil Ikaw”. Divina replied by DUBsmashing “Miss na Miss Kita”. [Somebody tell us please the title of the song and artist who sang it.] Alden even tried to pinch Divina’s nose at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. Alden DUBsmashed Blue’s “Best in Me”. Lou Bega’s “Sweet Like Cola” then started blaring in the background. It signaled Donya Tinidora’s arrival at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode.
Divina paid her respects to Donya Tinidora. Donya Tinidora was in an okay mood. “Hay naku! Tingnan mo naman. Umulan tapos sumingaw yung init. Ang sarap dito.” (Oh my! Look at this [weather]. It rains then heat [from the ground] seeps out. It smelled great here.) Alden greeted Donya Tinidora. “Hello, lola.” Donya Tinidora greeted Alden back. “Ready na ba kayo sa Italy. Ready na ba kayong dalawa sa pagpunta nyo?” (Are you ready for Italy? Are you ready to go?) Alden replied at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Medyo hindi pa, lola, eh.” (Not that much yet, granny.)
Divina expressed her concern to Donya Tinidora. “Saka, lola, hindi pa po kasi kami marunong mag-Italian language.” (Granny, we are not yet that good in speaking Italian.) Donya Tinidora replied. “Yun na nga iniisip ko. Siempre bago nyo naisip yan, naisip ko na yan. Kaya eto. Me dala akong libro ng mga Italian language para pag-aralan.” (That’s what I thought too. Of course, before you even thought of that, I already thought of it. So here. I have an Italian language book for you to learn from.) Divina liked the idea and checked Donya Tinidora’s book at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode.
Donya Tinidora continued. “Ayan na oh. Yan eh mga basic lang naman yan.” (Here they are. They’re just basic stuff.) Divina asked. “Pano po yung Hello?” (How do you say Hello?) Donya Tinidora was half-sarcastic when she waved “Hello.” Divina had to clarify her question at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Lola, iba po.” (No, the other one.) Both of them ended up checking the book. Divina saw it. “Ciao.”
Donya Tinidora knew a different “Ciao” at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Kumbaga sa mahjong, Ciao.” (It’s like in the mahjong board game. Ciao.) Divina almost scratched her head. “Lola naman eh.” (Granny please.) Donya Tinidora saw the alternate suggestion. “Puede ring SALVE.” (You can also use SALVE.) Divina repeated it so she could remember it better.
Alden then asked Divina. “Naalala mo yung tinuro ko sa yo?” (Remember what I taught you?) Divina asked back. “Ano yun?” (What is it?) Alden continued. “Yung maraming salamat sa lahat ng ginawa mo. Sige nga. Gawin mo.” (The ‘Thanks for everything that you’ve done’. Go ahead. Do it.) Divina tried to say it correctly. “Grazie per tutto quello che fai per de.” Allan K liked it. [The commentary panel present at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode consisted of Allan K, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.]
Donya Tinidora liked it too. “Aba! Magaling ang apo ko. Magaling. Eto pa. Eto pa isa. Good morning.” (Wow! My grand-niece is amazing. Amazing. Here. Here is another one.) Divina then read the translation. “Buongiorno.” Donya Tinidora repeated it at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Buongiorno. Pag rocker, Bon Jovi. Okay? Sabi ni ate, pag may nakita kang rocker sa umaga, sabihin mo Bon Jovi.” (If you’re greeting a rocker, say BON JOVI. Elder sister said that if you saw a rocker in the morning, say BON JOVI.)
Alden asked Donya Tinidora. “Lola, pano po yung Goodbye?” (Granny, how about GOODBYE?) Donya Tinidora was tried to sound serious. “Goodbye? Dapat hawak mo yung kutsilyo. Magsaksak ka. Goodbye. Patay na.” (You should hold a knife. Stab yourself. Goodbye. You’re dead.) Divina found something else on the book. “Good evening. Buonasera.” Alden repeated what Divina learned at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Buonasera.”
Donya Tinidora asked Divina. “Tapos yung good afternoon naman?” (Then for “Good afternoon?”) Divina read the translation. “Buon pomeriggio.” At the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. Donya Tinidora reminded Alden and Divina. “Okay. Wag kayong malilito. Importante yan ha? Yung umaga ano?” (Don’t be confused. It’s important. What’s the morning greeting?) Alden replied. “Buongiorno.” Divina followed suit. “Buongiorno, lola.”
Donya Tinidora tested them again. “Yung gabi?” (For the evening?) Divina replied. “Buonasera.” Donya Tinidora reviewed them further at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Yung madaling araw?” (How about early morning?) Divina made a wild guess. “Buon buon?” Donya Tinidora’s answer wasn’t any serious either. “Tulog na buon buon okay?” (A sleeping buon buon okay?) Donya Tinidora then found the answer to Alden’s question. “Goodbye. Eto na yung hinahanap mo.” (Here’s what you’re looking for.)
Divina read the translation. “Arrivederci.” Donya Tinidora repeated it. “Arrivederci. Ayan. Alam nyo na ha? Bakit? Magu-goodbye ka ba sa kanya?” (There. Now you know, okay? Why? Are you saying goodbye to her?) Divina felt a little hurt in agreeing with Donya Tinidora. At the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. Alden found an excuse. “Hindi, lola. Marami lang po akong gustong malaman na words.” (No, granny. I just want to learn more words.)
Donya Tinidora went back to her Italian book. “Ano pa gusto mong malaman, Alden?” (What else would you like to learn, Alden?) Alden replied. “Lola, yung Thank You po.” (Granny, how about “Thank you”.) Donya Tinidora checked the book again for Divina to read. Divina read the word out loud. “Grazie.” Donya Tinidora repeated the word “Grazie.” At the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. Alden continued with his questions. “Eh lola, yung I Love You?” (How about “I love you”?)
Donya Tinidora let Divina answer. “Ano I love you?” (What’s I love you in Italian?) Divina understood the question differently. “I love you too.” Donya Tinidora exclaimed. “Hindi!” (No!) In less than a minute, Divina realized what she just said at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Ay! Ano ba, lola?” (Wait! What, granny?) Donya Tinidora went sarcastic again. “Espanol!” (Say it in Spanish!) Divina slightly protested. “Lola naman eh!” (Granny please!)
Donya Tinidora tried to regain composure. “Sa Italiano!” (Say it in Italian!) Divina apologized halfway. “Akala ko po kasi …” (I thought …) Donya Tinidora gave Divina a tip. “Ti.” Divina then found what Donya Tinidora was referring to at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Ti amo. Ti amo.” Donya Tinidora felt relieved. “Yan! Madalas ginagamit sa mga boss nyo.” (There! It’s often used when referring to your boss.)
Alden then told Divina. “Ti amo, Divina.” Divina repeated what Alden said but in an asking tone. “Ti amo?” Alden then DUBsmashed “Ikaw” to calm down Divina. Donya Tinidora had to help Divina snap back to reality. “Ti amo raw, sabihin mo.” (He said “Ti amo”, say it too.) Divina ended up DUBsmashing Coco Lee’s “Before I Fall in Love”. Then she tried to give a decent reply. “Kuya Amo.”
Alden’s eye brows almost met as he felt amused with Divina’s answer at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Ano ba yun? Pangalan?” (What the? It’s a name now?) Divina repeated her answer. “Ti amo eh. Kuya amo.” [“Ti” sounds like an abbreviated “Ate” when pronounced with a Visayan accent. “Amo” in Filipino means boss or employer. Even Allan K acknowledged it later at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode.]
Alden just tested his Italian knowledge to Divina again. “Mi manchi.” Donya Tinidora understood Alden differently. “Naku, si Allan yun. Manchi.” (Oh that’s Allan K.) [“Manchi” sounds a little like “matsing”. “Matsing” means monkey.] Allan K snapped at Donya Tinidora. “Bastos ka, lola.” (You’re rude, granny.) Divina had to translate it to Donya Tinidora. “Ano po yun, I miss you.” (It means “I miss you.”) Donya Tinidora repeated what Divina said at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “I miss you.”
That’s when Divina had to remind Alden. “Teka lang. Parang may nakakalimutan ka. May nakakalimutan ka.” (Wait. It seems like you’ve forgotten something. You’ve forgotten something.) Alden denied it. “Hindi ako nakakalimot.” (I don’t forget.) Divina insisted her observation at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Hindi. Nakakalimot ka eh.” (No. You’ve forgotten.) Alden had to ask. “Hindi. Ano ba yun? Ano ba yun?” (No. What is it? What is it?)
Divina then said it. “Weeksary natin eh.” (It’s the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary.) Donya Tinidora ended up remembering more. “Bakit nga walang bulaklak? Walang lobo? Walang isaw?” (How come there are no flowers? No balloons? No chicken intestines?) Divina was half-hurt. “Ano ba yan, Alden? Naninibago, Alden. Nagbabago ka.” (What gives, Alden. You’ve changed, Alden. You’ve changed.)
Alden denied forgetting the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary. “Hindi, lola. Eto po.” (No, granny. Here it is.) Divina looked around. “Wala pong riding in tandem.” (No riding in tandem.) Shortly, the SUV horn was heard on the background. A girl appeared in a red Italian dress and sung “O Sole Mio”. [While most fans watching the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode would recognize “O Sole Mio” as the Italian version of Elvis Presley’s “It’s Now or Never”. Wikipedia says otherwise.]
Once she’s done singing. Divina thanked her. “Prego. Prego.” Donya Tinidora tried to speak Italian but failed. That’s when Alden explained. “Siempre, Divina. Hindi ko nakalimutan ang monthsary. Weeksary pala.” (Of course, Divina. I did not forget out monthsary. I mean out weeksary.) Divina confirmed her point. “Oh. Tingnan mo nga.” (See?) Alden had a ready answer to his gaffe at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Eh kasi feeling ko araw araw monthsary. Kaya ngayon pa lang, pinadala ko na yung Italy sa yo.” (It feels like our monthsary everyday. So as early as now, I sent Italy to you.)
Alden then tried to introduce the singer. “Actually yung singer natin, kaibigan siya ni Yaya Glo.” (Our singer is Yaya Glo’s friend. I just asked a favor from her.) [He should have at least mentioned her name at the ALDUB 42nd Weekend episode.] Divina thanked her. “Prego. Prego.” The singer was just as thankful to Divina. “Grazie mille, signorina.” (Thank you very much, ma’am.) Donya Tinidora can’t help but quip. “Ang galing. Siguro syota mo yung DJ dito.” (Brilliant. The spinner must be your fling.) Both Alden and Divina found Donya Tinidora’s comment awkward.
After Donya Tinidora’s half-successful attempts at speaking Italian. Alden greeted Divina. “Happy 42nd Weeksary, Divina.” The singer gave a little box to Divina. Divina tried to untie the ribbon. “Ano kayang laman nito?” (What does it contain?) It was a little heavy. Divina was startled when the box’s content almost fell. At the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary. Donya Tinidora was worried about something worse. “Muntik nang magmura.” (She almost let out an expletive.)
Divina then lifted the little gift. “Ano to? Para san to?” (What’s this? What is it for?) Donya Tinidora speculated. “Divina, alam ko na yan. Padlock.” (I know what that is. It’s a padlock.) Divina asked further at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Pambagahe po?” (For the baggage?) Donya Tinidora somewhat confirmed her hunch. “Para sa maleta mo.” (For your luggage.) Divina thanked Alden.
Alden tried to correct Donya Tinidora. “Di po, lola.” (No, granny.) Donya Tinidora kept on guessing though. “Padlock para di malagyan ng bala.” (A padlock to avoid getting inserted with bullets.) [The bullet issue has yet to die down as of the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode.] Alden explained. “Lola, hindi po. Ano po yan. Love lock po.” (Granny, no. It’s a love lock.)
Donya Tinidora repeated what Alden said. “Love lock ang tawag diyan?” (It’s called a love lock?) Alden clarified the object at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Yan po ang sumisimbolo po sa laman ng puso namin ni Divina. Kasi di ba, lola? Sa ibang bansa po. Halimbawa, pupunta kayo ng Paris. Ganyan. Or Korea. Meron silang mga lock lock na nilalagay.” (It symbolizes what is in our heart of Divina. Isn’t it, granny? In other countries. Like if you’d go to Paris. [Or some other destination.] They leave locks.)
Donya Tinidora then asked Alden. “So ilalagay nyo dun yan?” (So you’d place it there?) Divina felt excited. “Ilalagay natin ito?” (We’d leave this?) Alden refused to divulge the details. “Basta dadalhin natin yan.” (We’d just bring it.) Divina tried to clarify what Alden said at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Dadalhin lang natin. Hindi natin ilalagay?” (We’d just bring it? We won’t put it?) Alden didn’t reveal anything more. “Basta.”
Divina felt a little cheated but excited. “Ayaw ko yang mga BASTA mo ha? Yang mga ganyang tono mo.” (I don’t like your BASTA plans. With a tone like that.) Still, she thanked Alden for the heart-shaped lock. Alden replied. “Siempre. Ikaw pa eh.” (Of course. For you.) The singer then bade them goodbye. Donya Tinidora tried to speak Italian again. “Grazie mille. Dumaan ka ng palengke para mamile, ha?”
Donya Tinidora turned her attention back to Divina. “Handa na ba kayo sa plano nyo para kay ate? Yung mga pagkain, naayos nyo na ba? Darating na si ate any monument.” (Are you plans for elder sister ready? The food, is it all set now? Elder sister is arriving any moment.) Divina verified it. “Opo, lola. Nakahanda na po sa loob.” (Yes, granny. It’s prepared inside.) The SUV horn was heard on the background. Lola Nidora then appeared at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode.
Donya Tinidora was amused to see Lola Nidora arrived from behind the tree. “Galing sa puno. Si ate, naging nuno sa punso.” (From the tree. My elder sister became a dwarf from an anthill.) She called out to Lola Nidora. Lola Nidora slightly explained her entrance. “Nagpahangin lang ako sa taas.” (I just refreshed myself above.) Divina paid her respects to Lola Nidora. Donya Tinidora saw Lola Nidora’s long face again at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Ang lungkot mo.” (You look sad.)
Alden greeted Lola Nidora too. “Lola, kumusta po kayo?” (Granny, how are you?) Lola Nidora replied. “I’m okay.” Alden didn’t believe Lola Nidora’s answer at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. But he sounded concerned. “Di naman po namin kailangan manghula para malaman kung ano ang nararamdaman nyo eh.” (We don’t need to guess what you’re feeling.)
At the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. Lola Nidora was resigned to her sadness. “Hindi mo naman maalis sa akin ito, Alden.” (You can’t avoid me from feeling this way, Alden.) Donya Tinidora chose to be happy. “Dapat maging masaya ka na ngayon, ate. Kasi ilang araw na lang, aalis na si Alden at si Divina. Di ba? Makakapunta na sila sa Italy.” (You should be happy now, elder sister. Because in a few days from now, Alden and Divina will be leaving. They will get to Italy.)
Donya Tinidora thought how luck ALDUB was. “Napakaswerte. Gagawa ng pelikula. Unang pelikula, dun kaagad nila gagawin. Ayaw mo ba nun? Iba yun, ate.” (They’re very lucky. They’d be filming. Their first film would be shot there. Don’t you like that? That’s something else, elder sister.) Lola Nidora thought Donya Tinidora was too worried of her at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Ano ka ba, Tinidora?” (What the heck, Tinidora?)
Despite looking sad. Lola Nidora tried to be optimistic at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Mababait naman yung mga bata. They deserve it. Alden. Divina. Mag-iingat kayo dun ha?” (The kids are well-behaved. They deserve it. Alden. Divina. You better be safe there, okay?) Alden and Divina replied consecutively. “Opo, lola.” (Yes, granny.) Alden assured Lola Nidora. “Ako pa po? Ako na po bahala kay Divina. Aalagaan ko po siya.” (Me? I would take charge of Divina. I would care for Divina.)
Lola Nidora continued with her reminders. “Magte-text kayo. Tapos mag-send kayo ng pictures.” (Send SMS. Then send photos.) Alden agreed. Divina agreed as well. “Opo, lola. Saka behaved naman po kami ni Alden dun. Makikinig po kami lagi sa director.” (Yes, granny. And we of Alden will be behaved. We’d be obedient to the director.) Lola Nidora agreed. “Dapat lang.” (You better be.) Donya Tinidora agreed as well. “Importante yun, ate.” (That’s important, elder sister.)
Divina then invited the grannies inside. Donya Tinidora thought they better be. “Oo. Wag tayo dito. Tingnan mo hitsura natin. Zoom out nyo.” (Yes. We shouldn’t be here. Look at us. Zoom out your camera.) The cameraman at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode did as he was told. Donya Tinidora mentioned the obvious. “Para tayong firing squad. Para tayong babarilin dito.” (We’re like in a firing squad. Like they’re about to shoot us.) Allan K then joked. “Fuego!”
Lola Nidora didn’t think it was reason enough to get inside though. “Bakit ba tayo pupunta pa sa loob?” (Why do we have to go inside?) Donya Tinidora replied. “May sorpresa sa yo.” (There’s a surprise for you.) Lola Nidora thought otherwise. “Puede naman dito eh.” (It can be received here.) Alden egged them to go inside. “Lola, sama na kayo.” (Granny, just go along.) Divina gave Lola Nidora some ideas at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Hinanda po namin ito para sa inyo. Kami ni Alden.” (We prepared this for you. We of Alden.)
Lola Nidora then saw the picnic set. “Bakit may ganito? Anong meron?” (Why is this here? What’s up?) Donya Tinidora reminded Lola Nidora. “Weeksary nina Alden at Divina ngayon.” (It’s the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary today.) Divina invited the grannies on the mat. Donya Tinidora further reminded Lola Nidora. “Di ba? Laging nagse-celebrate yang dalawa na yan?” (Isn’t it? That couple always celebrate [their weeksary].)
Divina explained the picnic set. “Ayan po, lola. Naghanda kami ng pagkain at saka bulaklak po para sa inyo.” (There it is, granny. We prepared food and flowers for you.) It got Lola Nidora worried about something else. “Nung nasa labas kayo, sino nagbantay nito? Baka inano ‘to ng pusa.” (When you were outside, who watched over this? The cat might have touched these.) At the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. Divina didn’t think so. “Hindi po, lola. Malinis po yan.” (No, granny. It’s clean.)
Donya Tinidora was her sarcastic self again. “Wag kang ano. Yung pusa talaga ang nagbantay diyan.” (Don’t be silly. It’s the cat who watched over these.) Divina told both grannies. “Tara na po, lola. Upo na po tayo.” (Let’s go, granny. Let’s sit down.) Lola Nidora thought of Alden. “Wala naman dito si Alden. Hijo, makakapunta ka ba?” (But Alden isn’t here. Son, can you make it?)
Donya Tinidora didn’t think so. Alden had to excuse himself. “Lola, me kailangan po akong asikasuhin eh.” (Granny, I need to take care of something.) Lola Nidora was slightly grumpy with Alden’s answer. “Hmp! Palagi ka namang ganyan.” (You’re always like that.) Divina explained the surprise at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Kasi, lola, ilang araw na po kayong malungkot eh. Kaya naisip po naming maghanda.” (Granny, we noticed that you’ve been sad these past few days. So we thought of preparing this.)
Alden supported Divina’s explanation at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Opo. Saka po mas ginusto ko po na magkasama po muna kayo ni Divina ngayon.” (Yes. And I chose that Divina be with you for now.) Lola Nidora felt hurt. “Akala ko kasi, hijo, pupunta ka.” (Son, I thought you’d be coming over.) Alden knew how sad Lola Nidora could get. “Para makapag-bonding po kayo ni Divina. Kasi sa totoo lang po, matagal-tagal po kaming mawawala.” (So that you would bond with Divina further. Because actually, we’d be away for quite a long time.)
Lola Nidora replied. “Yun na nga eh. Gusto ko rin sanang makita doon.” (That’s the point. I’d like to see it too.) Alden continued at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Ilang araw na lang po kayong magkakasama. So para po mas marami kayong bonding moment. Para po sa inyo yan, lola.” (You only have a few days left to be together. So it would increase your bonding moments. It’s for you, granny.)
Donya Tinidora noticed Lola Nidora’s persistence. “Bakit mo ba pinipilit si Alden? Siguro crush mo talaga si Alden.” (Why are you pushing Alden? Maybe you really have a crush on Alden.) Divina chided Lola Nidora for Donya Tinidora’s comment at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. Allan K could only laugh off Donya Tinidora’s sarcasm. “Malisyoso si Tinidora.” (How malicious of Tinidora.)
Lola Nidora explained. “Hindi. Siempre. Gusto ko man lang makita si Alden bago sila umalis.” (No. But of course. I just want to see Alden before they go.) At the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. Alden assured Lola Nidora. “Magkikita po tayo, lola. Wag po kayong mag-alala. Sa Sabado po. May sorpresa po kami sa inyo.” (We’d still see each other, granny. Don’t worry. On Saturday, we have a surprise for you.)
Donya Tinidora got intrigued with Alden’s choice of words again at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Bakit ba ganyan lagi? Para kang nagpapaalam, Alden.” (Why do you do that? As if you’re saying goodbye, Alden.) Alden has a good reason for Saturday’s surprise. “Saka, lola. Mother’s Day po. Since kayo naman, lola, yung tumayong nanay ni Divina. Celebrate din po natin yun.” (And granny. It’s Mother’s Day. Since you took over the role of a mother to Divina. We’d celebrate that too.)
Lola Nidora felt wistful at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary. “Mother’s Day. Sana maalala ako ng mga anak ko. At ng mga apo ko.” (I hope my children would remember me. And my grandchildren.) Divina replied. “Lola, ang totoo po niyan. Gusto po naming magpasalamat ni Alden sa inyo. Kasi kundi po dahil sa inyo. Baka hindi po kami magkakaroon ng pelikula. Kaya hindi po kami makakapunta ng Italy kundi po dahil sa inyo. Kaya maraming salamat po.” (Granny, the truth about it is if not for you. Maybe we would not end up having a movie. We won’t get to Italy if not for you. So thank you very much.)
Divina then introduced the surprise. “Eto po. Simpleng pasasalamat po namin.” (Here. A simple thanksgiving from us.) Alden then DUBsmashed an Italian song. Divina explained what the song is. “Kanta po yan sa pagmamahal po sa ina. Kasi kayo na po ang tumayong nanay sa ‘min.” (It’s a song about motherly love. Since you have been like a mother to us.) Alden thanked Lola Nidora too. “Lola, thank you po. Pinalaki nyong mabuting bata si Divina.” (Granny, thank you. You raised Divina to be a good person.)
Bossing Vic almost sung “O Sole Mio” himself. Allan K tried to stop him. “Nagulat lang. Nainggit sa Italian song.” (He just got perplexed. He envied the Italian song.) Bossing Vic stopped after singing only the words “O Sole Mio”. Divina continued. “Lola, kakantaan po namin kayo ni Alden. Alden sabayan mo ako ha?” (Granny, we will sing for you of Alden. Alden, sing with me, okay?) Alden got ready at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode.
Divina just got interrupted with a minor sound. She had to suppress her laughter at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. When the commentators asked Divina, she had to explain. “Kasi po may nagpaano ng masamang hangin dito.” (Somebody [unleashed] some bad wind here.) Bossing Vic thought otherwise. “Baka may nag-text.” (Somebody might have sent an SMS.)
After regaining her composure. Divina started singing at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. She sang Tyler Collins’ version of “Thank You”. Alden joined her in singing after the first line. Shortly, both of them shifted to DUBsmash. After their duet, Divina consoled Lola Nidora. “Lola, wag na po kayong malungkot.” (Granny, don’t be sad.) Alden thanked Lola Nidora too. “Maraming salamat po sa lahat, lola.” (Thank you for everything, granny.)
Lola Nidora thanked both Alden and Divina. “Salamat. Lalo ko kayong mami-miss. Sweet kasi ng apo natin, Tinidora.” (Thank you. I’d miss you more. How sweet of our grandchildren, Tinidora.) Donya Tinidora agreed. Lola Nidora continued. “Pero masaya ako sa kanila. Salamat sa kanta ninyo.” (But I am happy for them. Thank for the song.) Donya Tinidora was pleased at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Ako rin nga. Na-touch sa kanta nila. Magaling ang mga bata.” (Me too. I was touched with their song number. The kids are great.)
Divina commented about her singing though. “Di po kami nakapag-ensayo. Pero thank you po, lola.” (We didn’t practice that much. But thanks for appreciating.) Lola Nidora replied. “Walang anuman.” (Don’t mention it.) Alden chose to be optimistic. “Mag-ensayo pa po kami, lola.” (We’d practice more, granny.) Lola Nidora went back to her reminders at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. “Mag-iingat kayong dalawa.” (You both be safe.)
Divina assured Lola Nidora. “Opo, lola. Love na love po namin kayo ni Alden.” (Yes, granny. We of Alden love you so much.) Lola Nidora reciprocated ALDUB’s love. “Love ko rin kayo. Love ko rin kayo. Tandaan nyo yan.” (I love you too. I love you too.) Divina brought her camera for the picture-taking. “Lola, hindi ko na po itataas yung kamay ko ha? Alam nyo na.” (Granny, I won’t be raising my hands up anymore, okay? You already knew why.) Alden found it funny at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode.
Divina took a snapshot. Lola Nidora noticed how unique Divina’s camera was. “Ano bang tawag sa ganyan?” (What do you call that?) Divina replied. “Polaroid po. Mamaya po makikita po natin yung imahe natin.” (It’s called a Polaroid. Later, we’d see our images.) At the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode. Alden found Divina’s choice of word amusing. “Imahe. Ang lalim ng Tagalog.” (That’s deep Tagalog.) Divina repeated it. “Imahe. Matalinghaga na ba yun?” (Is that word metaphoric?)
Alden just reminded Divina. “Basta sa Sabado, tuloy na. Di ba, Lola Tinids?” (Just remember on Saturday, it’s set. Right, Granny Tinids?) It took awhile for the photo to be developed. Once it’s ready, Divina showed it to the camera. Once the image is clear, it was Donya Tinidora’s turn to ask. “Divina. Alden. Ready na yung mga plano ninyo?” (Are your plans set?) It turns out that Donya Tinidora has her share of plans at the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode.
Donya Tinidora proclaimed. “Ako naman ang masusunod. At ako naman ang may plano. At may ibibigay ako sa inyo. Sa Sabado, magkakaroon ng Despedida Party.” (I would take charge from here. It’s my turn to plan. And I have something to give you. This Saturday, we’d have a Send-off Party.) Lola Nidora was startled. “Aalis na sila sa Sabado?” (They’re leaving this Saturday?) Divina’s happy DUBsmash was cut short by the truck horn. Ending the ALDUB 42nd Weeksary episode on a cliffhanger.
